I haven't read that book, but I have heard a bit about it. I think it is really important to understand how your SO shows love, but maybe its not about learning how to show love the way the other displays it, but learning how to interpret how the other displays it. You know what I mean? You seem to want him to talk to you more, and he wants you to do things for him more. Maybe you guys shouldn't try to change the way you display your love for each other, but learn how to interpret what you already do more accurately. Really take some time to think about what acts he does that you think he might do for you to show love, and have him think about what you say to show your love. Then, talk to each other about what you think you do to show him love and have him explain what he does to show his love(yes, this involves talking...he will just have to get over it). This might shed some light on how you guys view things differently and your expectations. Alternatively, if you really think he needs acts of love, perhaps you can do things outside of "cooking and cleaning". There are plenty of other acts you can do long distance. Such as, sending him flowers or candies(typically what a man does for a woman, but it works the other way too), ordering him something online and having it shipped to him with a sweet message(it could be something inexpensive), calling/texting/emailing just to say I love you, etc. If he doesn't see love from those sort of acts, then he doesn't really speak the language of acts and is just lazy and wants you to do chores for him. Even if he doesn't want to talk, communication is key to all relationships. He needs to explain things to you and listen while you explain things to him. |

Thanks for all the replies! Just to clarify, my 4 consecutive interviews were all with the same company, just different people within it. I am looking for jobs as a geophyscists with an oil or service company, so interviews are actually pretty easy to come by. I did 1st interviews with about 14 different companies(OMG...I am soooo sick of answering situational questions!!) and am on to round two. I had my first onsite interview yesterday and I have 2 more with other companies so far. I would LOVE it if I got offers from at least 2 companies so I have options, but who knows. Yesterday actually wasn't that bad. I was just tired and stressed out, so I got whiny. All the people I talked with were super nice and they made me really comfortable. It was actually kinda enjoyable because we only talked about technical stuff. I much prefer that sort of interview. And getting to practice my defense talk was really nice. They gave me some good advise on how to improve some things and geniuinly seemed interested. Yesterday was only about 3 hours, but I have an onsite interview with one of the major companies and its going to be aaaaall day long. And even though I live in the same city, they want to take me to dinner and put me up in a hotel the night before. I didn't want to complain to them, but I would really rather stay at home with my husband! Oh well. I will be sure to update if/when I hear back! Oh, and watergirl, are you looking to acquire data or just buy some that already exists? What kind do you want or what is it(2D/3D, multicomponent)? I love seismic data :) |

Original Post by samoacookie: I love how they all got really creeped out when she won that last temptation. That was sooo funny! She totally bewitched the spinning wheel. Then, she cursed coach so that he was in a lot of pain and put a spell on him so that he would tell everyone he wanted to leave! She is literally a witch. Or, it's rigged to increase drama. Or, she is as lucky as this guy. I think all theories are equally plausible. (It's rigged) |

I wonder if it was a hoax directed by the parents? They were on wifeswap once, so maybe they just wanted more fame? |

I sent this to some of my fellow grad students. Operation Mayhem has started! I am going to keep tally of everyone's points and by the end of the semester the winner will get a prize, I am not sure what the prize should be yet, though! |

and so many people post something looking for compliments or some sort of justification for poor judgment or behavior and then get pissed when people see right through it, and so many people don't get each others humor and take things too seriously, because it causes entertaining drama. :) |

Original Post by katesorad: Yeah, maybe you should work on not being so judgemental. If you only know her through facebook you really don't know her life plans, goals, or what else she may be doing. She could very well be thinking about her future and working just as hard as you are for what she wants. |

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
