| Bio | I am M, 27, 5'11" weighing 175 lbs as of June 01 2007. (172 lbs on July 28). I stay in Harrisburg, PA and i have my roots in India. I joined local Y on May 21st in order to add a little something to the daily humdrum life of office-cooking-tv-laptop-work @ home-dinner-DVDs-calls-sleep. I started researching on web for exercises/correct forms/nutrition/BMI etc etc n there i stumbled over the 'learn to run' thread. It was like someone shook me off from a 20 yr long slumber. I was never a runner in my life, cudnt run on track even as a kid. I wasnt obese or a gello rather was quite fit, but still cudnt run. Learn to Run brought the long forgotten n once desperately sought urge of running right back n i immediately took a plunge into c-c. I started the pgm on May 30th on the Y treadmills n ran my first 5K distance on TM on Jun21st. Ran two 5K races - the first on the 7th of July n next on 14th. The first 5K was my first ever experience running on paved road. I loved the races - the vivacious atmosphere, the energy flowing thru the air running alongside 100s of fellow runners, it felt like an orchestra being played all around u. Oh yes, the 2nd race 'Spirit of Gettysburg' did have live music, over 700 participants, cameras, video shoots, amazing route thru the military park and the historic Gettysburg battlegrounds to say the least. Then on i decided to cut down the TM running n now i mostly run outdoors. I am not a superfast runner, but it's just 2 months that i m running one of them was 'learning to run'. I have no intentions to do speedwork yet. The first aim is to build steady 20 miles per week. I still run 3 days a week n need a rest day past every run day. I do strength trg on the rest days (twice a week). Current mileage /week = 12 Wish you good luck !! |
