@solid555: Actually, I said I don't change from week to week. If I did that, I wouldn't see any results even if I changed to the right thing. Lol, I understand it's better to "lose slowly and not put weight back on." That's why I'm trying to get help. @everyone else: I do HITT, and I do it three days a week, the other days are running and weight lifting based. I've tried to upping my calories before and that didn't do anything except make me gain and actually break the 240 barrier. When I stopped, it went back into the 230's. I suppose I'll try cutting my calories more and see how that goes. |

Yes, we have a small scale in the kitchen. The only thing I don't measure is lettuce. Because, well, it's lettuce. |

I can't remember off the top of my head the deficit (since I use another site to count my calories), but I just did it here and it's apparently around 1500. I'll just try to move lower than that and hopefully something will change. |

I've never been at this weight before. So why my body has stopped here is beyond me. I'll try a low carb/14 day kind of plan. I mean, what could it hurt? I just want the weight to move... |

Well, everything is maintaining my weight! I go from 230-240, but can't get past it. :/ I'm shooting for high 160's since I tall. My gut and thighs have started growing instead of shrinking and it's making me quite depressed... |

I just think this was bad. I don't know, I think these things can be shared with family or friends, but not EVERYONE. I would of died, if not started crying, regardless if I wanted to marry the guy or not. =_= |

| The Lounge | Honestly, can you comfortably leave the house without ANY makeup? | Jan 04 2012 08:12 (UTC) |

I wore make up for the first time for my college photos and it wasn't enjoyable because I didn't know what I was doing. I don't do it because I have good face or "natural beauty," I'm just lazy and don't put forth the effort. And everyone I know knows my "bare" face, so they're used to it. lol I kind of feel bad for people who feel like they CAN NOT leave the house without make up and it no longer seems like an option for them. If it's a preference, sure, but I don't think it's good for anyone to be that uncomfortable with their self. |

I haven't had it, but my mother and grandmother have had it. At the end of the day, you'll need a life style change. They both dropped weight thanks to the band (and the vomiting) but they've both gained it back, it not more, because, once their body got accustomed to it, they ate the way they always ate, and didn't get up and move around. I think it'll be a nice jump start, but you'll still have to do the work. |

It's just hard, you know? I feel like sometimes my body is mad at me or that I'm just doing something wrong. All the stories in magazines and TV are of people doing it all at one, in a year or two. No one talks about months and months of nothing. |

I'll try upping my calories then. What could it hurt if it's really the problem anyway. I'll also start incorporating weight lifting. At the time, I was really focused on numbers (still am) so when the extra work didn't make the weight "fall" off, I just dropped it. But I suppose I should of kept at it. Thank you all for the advice. I'll try my best to put it to use. |

Last year, my weight was 209. =_= I went to Japan, and even though I wasn't completely sedentary, I did a lot more snacking that usual, and had tons of rice, so I went back to 218. I lost during the summer and went to 210, came back to school, got to 216, then 218, and then 224/222 which is where I am now and have been for what feels like forever. I'm not saying all of my choices are good. I know that getting 400 calories from a burger or something, is not as good as getting 400 from a salad and and a few snacks, but I do keep track of it. I don't ignore that I've had that burger, nor do I have them often. So while I know that what's filling my 1400 calories may not be A+ food (thanks, college), I can't imagine that it totally gets rid of any work I've done. I keep my logs private, so the only one that sees it is me. Since I can't weight my food, I try and guess high so, at worse, I'm eating less than I am. And I have made my own food before, so I know the ball park for things like rye bread and beef and things like that, so I'm not going totally off of nothing. I looked at the calculator, but 2500? I feel like that'll make it worse. Everything I do has made it worse. Relaxing and eating a bit more, being strict and eating a bit (or a lot) less, adding exercise, changing it. I'm scared to up my calories because I'm scared it's going to make it worse. I also only work out an hour, and (from the readings, which I don't trust) only burn between 500 and 600 calories, I don't think I could eat that much. I ate around 2000 when I was at my biggest and just walking, so I don't know if it would work now. And, like kelrantymus, those readings probably aren't right. So I'm probably burning a lot less. (Elliptical is on level 15 and on the "hills" setting. Usually around 4.0-6.0 miles per hour, treadmill goes to 7-9 incline at 3-3.5 miles per hour (again, weak knees. Running just hurts it too much). Bike is also at level 15 ) I'll try adding two days of weight training, probably on the weekends. I've tried in in the past, and since weight wasn't "flying" off I went back to cardio. If nothing changes after this weigh in, I'll try upping my calories. |

I do use Rye Bread, but I'll see what other breads my school offers. On salads, I have honey mustard dressing, I dump it out to the side and dip. But could you explain the set point a little more? |

I really hope that is the case. I just want to get back on track and see the numbers going down. I'll try to wait to see more progress before I call uncle. |

I don't know about the sodium. I can't cook my own food anymore (yay college dorms with no kitchen) so I can only assume I'm intaking sodium. I think my period is coming at the end of the week. I did start birth control about three weeks ago. Could that effect my weight? |

I do try strength training on Friday/weekends, though I know that doesn't really count. I've been trying to mix it up with different machines, speeds, levels, etc. But it's making things worse. |

I don't have a grandmother like that, but my response is to stop listening to her/talking to her. She's an older woman and seems stuck in her ways. You know you're not "fat," your other family members know you are not fat. She is the only one who seems to be harping on you. So stop listening to her. When she says "stop feeding her" just go, "oh, grandma," and go on with what you're doing. You know what's right for your body. Stop forcing yourself to starve to meet her approval, when it doesn't look like you'll ever get it in the body department. |

Don't be silly. With a good rack and ****, what does she have to talk about? People only get social lives by just looking at each other. People who like each other for their personality are just loser. |

Fine. Get the boobs, get surgery. Diet yourself thin. Get as much make up as your face can hold, and make sure to show off the goods. It's all about attention, right? Make sure that everyone thinks you're attractive because that has all the perks, like friends, a social life, a love life, being treated nice by strangers. Some people get that through being nice, polite, fun people that just make others happy and makes people want to be around them. You know, cause they're interesting and just great people, even if they don't have a killer rack. But you know the deal. It's all about looks. Make sure Mr. Douchebag thinks your hot, and whoever else that only likes what they see on the TV. Make sure that guys' heads are snapping and that women's jaws are dropping. It's all about the appearance. Start saving, cause surgery can add up, as can the clothes and the make up. And everyone trends fade out. Hell you might need to become big again to fit the next ideal. Because making everyone else happy is the only thing that counts. Only by meeting everyone else's standards can you truly find happiness. Good luck. :) |
