I agree with the others who have had their gall bladder removed. I had it removed about 15 years ago and never regretted it for a moment.  Before I had it done I experienced pain that doubled me over for hours. The surgery is relatively simple and recovery is pretty fast.

Weight Loss Embarassing Question: How can I stay regular? Oct 03 2011

I saw your question about psyllium husk.  This didn't do anything for me.  I took 1 tablespoon of ground psyllium husk twice a day for two weeks, but didn't see any difference whatsoever so I stopped.  I always drink at least 64 ozs of water a day, so I know that wasn't the issue. I am hypothyroid and read on one of the thyroid sites that psyllium doesn't always work for those who are hypothyroid.

That is not to say that it won't work for you, though.  I have read numerous comments at sites where people swear it works miracles. So, hey give it a shot.

Do you have hypothyroidism by chance?  If you have thyroid issues everything can slow down - metabolism and digestion/elimination.  That has been my experience when I started having thyroid problems.  I take triphala, a supplement that is made from three fruits.  I order it online at vitacost.  It does help but I found that it works the best if taken sporadically.  For example, take 2-4 tablets a day for a  week, take a break for a  couple of days and then start again.  Also, magnesium tablets are helpful.
