Weight Loss CC Account Settings are CONFUSING... Help Please Feb 07 2013

I would go to the Tools menu and select the burn meter (Calorie Burn Calculator) and record the values for Sedentary, Light Activity, Moderate Activity, and Very Active. My personal choice is sedentary. If you have a deficit of 500 calories per day for 7 days, that is 3500 calories or a one pound loss. The key is to have a deficit. I hope this helps answer your question and you can send me a message if you want. Good luck with your weight loss.

Original Post by cindydtx:

I just joined CC and I am wonder why my submitted report from yesterday isn't showing on "My Calorie Camp" ? My 1st day , Week one should be Friday but it defaulted to Saturday which is today. Maybe it wont start showing until after today? Or Maybe it's because I haven't added my weekly goal. How do I add my weekly goal?

I hope you get an answer. I usually get a quick reply.

I looked at your profile and you do have many journal entries. You could copy them to a file but that would be tedious. If you were to copy them to a file, would you also want the comments?

If you go to analysis in food log, there are suggestions there. Hover over calcium and select sources of calcium.

For those who want to calculate either BMR or METS, see my journal.

Running 6mph is 10 METS.

I entered your information in the tools section for burn meter and chose sedentary. You burn 3000 calories per day without doing anything. Since you are exercising you will burn more calories per day. To lose a pound per week, you need to reduce your food intake by 500 calories per day.

Look at your burn meter and make sure it is accurate. If your burn meter is 3500, then you can loose weight with a food intake of 3000 calories per day.

I may have solved the posting problem if this comes through ok.

Maintaining what you've started gets so tough when you're afraid of yourself.

My "diet" started by starving myself with one meal per day, and I was doing lots and lots of exercises. It all felt right and I was pretty motivated, but there's always a point when 'it cracks' for me. I’m stressed all the time that I could let myself go again, and I’m afraid that it could happen any time now.

I lost 10 kilograms in about 3 months and I am happy with the results. But all the time I keep in mind that the way I lost them could rush me back to where I started. Another -5 kilograms would be just perfect.

It's hard to be motivated for a long time period for me. How do you deal  with yourself every day?

I tried to transcribe what evilm posted and got the same control characters. It seems to be related to html as "&nbsp" was in the html code generated.

The post reminds me of the old days when noise would be introduced while typing a message. These could also be control characters getting through.

I count calories because I don't know how much I eat per day. I log my activities and so far it has allowed me to lose weight.

Weight Loss BMR vs. RMR Jul 20 2010

  • BMR stands for Basal Metabolic Rate, and is synonymous with Basal Energy Expenditure or BEE. BMR measurements are typically taken in a darkened room upon waking after 8 hours of sleep; 12 hours of fasting to ensure that the digestive system is inactive; and with the subject resting in a reclining position.
  • RMR stands for Resting Metabolic Rate, and is synonymous with Resting Energy Expenditure or REE. RMR measurements are typically taken under less restricted conditions than BMR, and do not require that the subject spend the night sleeping in the test facility prior to testing.

My journal has information, so take a look. Remember that RMR and BMR have to be multiplied by a factor to determine daily calories needed.

The formulas are in my journal if you want to calculate it for yourself. I would see your family doctor and discuss weight loss. That is what I did.

Look at my journal to see BMR. Basal Metabolic Rate is calories you burn just existing. The BMR is multiplied by a factor depending on activity level to find the amount of calories you burn per day.  I have the calculations in a spreadsheet is anyone is interested. I discussed weight loss with my doctor and set a goal based on that discussion.

My ancestry.com subscription has lapsed but you would need dates and locations to narrow down the possibilities. If you are still searching and have more than a name, send me a message and I will see what I can find.
