I have been doing OCM for over a year now. I get compliments on my skin daily. I had a small group of coworkers who were SHOCKED to find out I turned 28 last month. They thought I was their age (19-21 year old interns). My skin looks fantastic. It is the first thing a lot of people notice. I owe it all to OCM. When you do it for a while you start to learn what works for your skin. I change it up in winter, because I get dry spots. I also make my own scrub for every week or two. 3 different kinds of sugar and a few different oils mixed in (I love peppermint oil for this, it tingles...but I cant handle it in OCM because it sits there too long). I still get a mild break out when a certian aunt visits if you get my meaning...but that is to be expected I guess. :) I dont use a lot of EVOO anymore. I use more grapeseed and/or safflower oil. Just works better for me. Glad everyone is having success with this. |

Im baaaaack! lol Took a few months off. I am pretty disapointed in myself. However...I still managed to lose a few pounds. Sheer luck. I have been reckless and careless. Big life changes. New house, brand new car, new duties at work...diagnosed with adult ADD (I finally know that I am not just crazy!). I just let weight loss fall to the side. I went back to binging, and fast food on the way home. I am so lucky I didnt gain anything back. Still have a little over 100 to lose...but started off at way more than that. So you will be seeing me around again! :) |

Hello all. I followed ya over. :) SW:295 CW: 265 GW: 140 30 pounds down! That was on friday....I now refuse to weigh myself more than once a week, so I will weigh again on friday. :) I am doing well, temptation is pretty easy to resist. I did have a day or 2 of stupid eating.....but NOTHING compared to how I used to eat. I was in a tight 24....now in a pretty loose 22. So all is well. |

Original Post by jewelsmcblah: I always do it at night before bed. I was doing it in the morning as well, but now I dont have time every day...so I just do it on mornings that I have the spare time. I started with just the EVOO and the castor oil. Then it got more complicated. lol I know a girl on another forum that just does it every 2 or 3 days and that is working for her. I heard about it on a sleep apnea forum strangly enough. I tried it not expecting much....and it has worked really well for me. Some companys are now making already mixed versions, but I like doing my own. Like if you have really oily skin it is ok to have a 50/50 mix of the castor and EVOO....but for people with really dry skin it is better to have less castor or you can end up really dry. So I like being able to just make up a batch to adress whatever my skin is doing that month. :) |

I have been there too. Funny thing is that I know it was recent....because I remember calling my best friend almost in tears when it happened. But I can NOT for the life of me remember the actual event. It got blocked out I think. lol But I do remember feeling like crap, and feeling that way for a while. This had ot only be like 3-4 months ago! I can not believe I cant remember any of the details! dang it. |

| The Lounge | what do you think about being friends with benefits? | Apr 19 2008 08:03 (UTC) |

| First....I dont think it is trashy. I did it once, and it didnt end well. But the worst part is that looking back on it I feel dirty. Maybe it is just me getting older and becoming a mother. But I just dont look at sex the same way anymore. Now it is more about intimacy and being close to someone. Trust me....if all I wanted was to "get off" I can do that myself, much better and much faster than any man out there has been able to. And whoever said that men and women cant be friends is just plain STUPID! Sure....there are some men who could never have a female friend, and some women who could never be friends with a man. But that isnt true of everyone. My best friend on earth was a man. We became friends when we were 14. We were almost like family. He died a few years ago, and I miss him every day. I have had more male friends in my life than women friends. Also.....of course a man would react differently if someone started something with a female friend....and it has NOTHING to do with sex! Would you have sex with your sister or mother? I hope not....but if someone started something with them you would react differently than if someone said something stupid to your brother. I am a woman...and if someone picked on my guy friends I would expect them to take care of themselves.....but if someone picked on a female friend of mine they had better be wearing good running shoes. Ok....I am done. I am tired....so I hope some of that made sense. | |||

I have been doing this for almost a year now. I get compliments daily on what nice skin I have. I use a mix of grapeseed oil, tea tree, lavendar oil, castor, avacado oil, and rosemary oil.....and usually either a bit of EVOO, almond, or apricot. Just depends what I am in the mood for. I make a new batch about once every 2 weeks. I also do a sugar scrub every 2-3 weeks with 3 kinds of sugars (white, brown, and raw) mixed with my regular facial blend and peppermint oil added. It makes my skin nice and tingly and exfoliates nicely. Seriously....my skin looks better than it ever has, including the year when I tried proactive. :) |

Luckily.....I hate skinny jeans. They remind me too much of the 80s maybe. lol So I guess I dont have to worry about that. I love a good boot cut or slight flare leg. Even when I was really thin shopping for jeans was a nightmare. If it fits in the butt it is way to big in the waist. If I was looking to fit my waist they would never get over my behind. lol I have dropped a whole jeans size and am fitting into a size down...but that is still a size 20-22. So I am not throwing a party yet. :) |

I am guilty of the pizza con. lol As long as I ordered the supreme with tomatoes then I was getting all my food groups in. Bread, veggies, meat, dairy, even fruit. I heard a few years back that spicy foods upped the metabolism. So I ate only really spicy food for the next week. Of course I was eating thousands of calories a day worth of mexican food and thai food.....and I spent a lot of time on the toilet in tears. Luckily I came to my senses after that first week. The stupid things we try. lol |

| Weight Loss | If you could offer ONE piece of advice you've learned the hard way to someone, what would it be? | Apr 19 2008 05:07 (UTC) |

|
My best advice is kind of unusual maybe. Dont ever let anyone tell you that it cant be done.....not even yourself. I was told I needed gastric bypass....that no one loses 160 pounds on their own. I almost did it, but then I remembered something. I used to work in elder care several years ago. There were always 2 kinds of people....only 2. The ones who had lived a good life and who had done everything they ever wanted to do. They had no regrets. Then there were the others....the ones who had left something undone, the ones who regreted things they had or had not done in their life. I looked deep inside and asked myself if I had the surgery could I honestly look back 5 years from now and know that surgery had been a last resort, that I had done everything else possible first. The answer was a big fat NO. I hadnt tried it all. I hadnt given it one really good shot on my own. So now I am going at this with everything I have. I have dropped 30 pounds this month. I will keep fighting, and I will NEVER again tell myself that I cant do it. Maybe people dont lose 160 or more pounds on their own.....but I DO! |

Well here is some motivation for your bf. When I was your age I was wearing bikinis and mini skirts and I looked damn hot. I was in the best shape. Now I am 27...will be 28 this year. My starting weight was 295 pounds. Those pounds sneak up on you FAST. I have now lost 29 pounds. I am a beautiful girl.....who cant find a date because I am fat. A cookie or a pound here or there might not matter now. But at even 1 pound a month you will weigh another 60 pounds in 5 years. That is 100 pounds in 10 years. That is only 1 pound a month gain. Plus your metabolism will slow as you get older. Your weight is your responsibility. It drives me nuts that people can blame others for the way they eat. I am fat because of ME. No one else can make you eat something. It is a choice. When you eat 6 cookies it is because you made a decision that something that tasted good was more important to YOU than your long term health and weight loss goals. It is a decision. Avoidance is not the answer. There will be many many times in your life that you are faced with food social settings. Soon your friends will be getting married, having children......are you going to avoid every wedding, every baby shower, every christmas dinner with your family? Graduation parties are comming.....are you going to miss them all? I am not trying to be mean....I am really really not. But I have been there. I would give a whole lot to go back and slap some sense into myself before I got this big and disgusting. Trust me....you do not want to be here. Get some of those 100 calorie cupcakes and stash them in your purse. Then when they are all eating cookies you can pull it out and have a treat with them. Next time you are there point out how good the apples look....then eat those instead of cookies. You can control yourself.....your friends can not control you. When my friends and I have dinner I just laugh and joke about not being able to eat things. Then I stick to my diet and they all joke about how they could never pass on treats. It is kind of a running joke these days. I go to my best friends house for dinner and I always bring a large bowl of salad for everyone.....that way I can eat a big serving of it if she is serving something I cant eat. |

I have lost 29 pounds since starting on april 3. Then again my starting weight was 295. It works.....how fast depends on your body. For some people the weight just falls off, for others it takes a bit longer. But it does eventually come off. Good luck. Even if it isnt gone by your goal date.....keep in mind that it will be in time for some other really great event in your life. Keep us posted on your progress. :) |

I would bring along some of those on the go packets from crystal light. Then you can still have something yummy to drink without all the calories. Plus you can use them for snow cones. You can always pack baggies full of carrots or whatever to eat throughout the day. If you really want to be able to buy something for lunch commit to walking around the entire place a few times before, during or after eating it. If you have friends there you guys can always split something and save half the calories. Since you dont have to be there until 10am eat breakfast before you go. Then when everyone else wants to grab food you can honestly say you have already eaten and are kind of full. I know last time I was losing weight I was going to a lot of beer festivals with my bf, he was a brewmaster. There was always so much good food floating around. I feel your pain. :) Good luck.

I have a 3 year old daughter. I love to bike ride and have 2 bikes. I put a carrier on one of them so I could take her riding with me. She loved it. Plus the added weight on the bike and the fact that it takes more effort to keep it balanced made for an even better work out. Just make sure you get him a helmet.

If you read my profile you see that I once struggled with a serious ED....more than one. I will tell you that even after intense treatment I have still found myself over a toilet maybe 5 times in the last 10 years. For me purging was NEVER about food or weight. It was about getting rid of the bad inside of me....not sure if that really makes sense. I still sometimes have to fight myself not to run to the bathroom when I am going through a very stressfull time in my life, or when something really bad happens. If you beat yourself up too bad over it then you will just find yourself over the toilet again. Just know that its ok. You are doing the best you can, without serious medical intervention. You have made great progress. Of course you feel the guilt and the frustration right now. That is normal. Just ease up on yourself a bit. Instead of saying NEVER.....maybe you should say that you are just going to keep trying your hardest and doing everything you can to keep it from happening again. Good luck.....and just know that you arent the first one to feel this way, and you are not alone. |

Man.....this is some lightweight stuff.
I have easily had 10000 calorie days. One of the worst was.... breakfast: 2 mcskillet meals at mcdonalds, with an orange juice and a large soda. Snack: large biscuts and gravy, bottle of milk, and 2 strips of bacon from the coffee shop on the first floor of my office building. Also brought an extra bottle of apple juice back to drink while at my desk. lunch: buffet from the cafe downstairs.....2 large plates of spagetti, 2 bowls of potoato soup, 1 large plate of salad smothered in ranch, 2 baked potatoes, 1 full bowl of stuffing, bowl of red jello, cup of pudding covered in whipped cream, 2 sodas, and a bag of chips to eat at my desk. Snack: snickers bar, corn nuts, and soda from machines upstairs from my office. On the way home in the car: 2 chicken sandwiches and a double cheeseburger from mcdonalds....along with a soda to wash it down. Dinner: crunchwrap supreme, spicy chicken burrito with sour cream, soft taco supreme, root beer, 1/2 pound cheesy bean and rice burrito with sour cream, cheese quesadilla....all of this from taco bell. snack: 2 sandwiches LARGE cup of milk. Late night out of control binge: 3 chocolate hostess cupcakes, large cup of milk,5 slices of left over pizza from the night before; 2 bananas, a whole box of macaroni and cheese, and an entire can of whipped cream.....which I ate by spraying it from the can into my mouth. You would think I was done......but 2 hours later I got up to pee and managed to end up in the kitchen eating 3 bagels with cream cheese and another 2 large cups of milk. I went through a gallon of milk by myself that day. This was the week before I started my lifestyle change. Big part of the reason I had to make this change. So anytime someone feels bad about a small binge....keep in mind that there is someone far more disgusting out there. :) Now I am at about 1000 calories a day.....and tonight my idea of a binge was when I went back for seconds at dinner....then ate a cheese sandwich and drank 8oz of lowfat milk. I feel like crap. I just have to tell myself that at least it is better than it was before and that I will do better. |

It may very well be a way of getting attention. It takes everyones attention away from eating their own food...and they are forced to spend 45 min or more to get her to eat. My 3 year old daughter goes through days or a week sometimes where she will fight me about every bite. I used to fight with her about it. Then my doctor told me to stop. She wont let herself starve. So now if she wants to act like that I she isnt allowed to have any of the treats she likes, or juice, or chocolate milk. After a day or 2 she is ready to eat really good again and everything is good for a few more weeks. If you think it may be something more physcially based rather than just her wanting to fight about it then I would take her to see the dr. My younger sister used to have mealtime wars.....then they found out she was lactose intollerant and that she wasnt eating because she was always so sick to her stomach. |

Skydiving in vegas! That is what got me on this path to begin with. I am planning the party of a lifetime in vegas in april of 09. We are all going skydiving. 30 of us. I was the only one who was told by the company that I could not go....I do not meet the physical requirments. Plus if I just wanted to go on the plane and watch everyone else go I would have to pay for an extra seat to offset the extra fuel usage. So I am going to get my self up in that plane and jump out.....and the whole way down I will be thinking about how I showed everyone just what I could do when I set my mind to it. Then I am going to hit the clubs with the girls and wear the hottest outfit that I can find.....and who says 28 year old women cant wear miniskirts and hooker boots? lol hahahaha. |

I am loving the klondike 100 calorie ice cream bars. They are better than most of the "regular" ice cream bars out there. Low cal salad dressing. I eat tons of salad....tons. So having at least 6 different types of dressing in my fridge is a nessesity. That way I never get bored. I love love sour cream....but thought I couldnt have it. Today I found a fat free version with only 20 cals for a 2 tablespoon serving. That with a little plain hot sauce and suddenly every thing just tastes better. lol |

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
