we ran backward at judo regularly... good for the sport becasue you need to be strong moving in all directions, and it also made the muscles work differently.  sore bum and calves.

thanks for the briliant suggestions.  i'll try splenda in lemon water tonight.  and i like the cranberry juice idea too.  i'll get some when i get groceries next.  my boss sugested the warm water, and against my expectations, i am enjoying it.  my memory of warm water involves a metalic taste, but i'm not experiencing that today :) on my second bottle of warm water now :) yay

I forgot to do the measurments last week, but there hasn't been anychange for me anywhere else, and no  change in the way my clothes fit, so doubt there is any change there either.  things this chalange has done for me (even if i haven't actually moved down the weight loss path) is highlighted areas i have ignored such as water on the weekends, how much excercize i've been skipping, and now... how snacking has devistated my deficites.  i could be doing so much better with only a few changes... so far i have been able to sustain a higher water intake on the weekends and am being more regular with my excercize (although still not great )

i have the opposite type of food memories... my dad used to bribe me to go running in the morning with him with chocolate chips.  when something jsut seems to unpleasant to deal with, a handfull of chocolate chips seems to be an answer.  my mom baked fresh bread.  i can easily eat a loaf of fresh bread with butter when i miss her.  :-/ but i also can bake my own bread and love to excercize...

Foods Kashi Go Lean vs Kashi Go Lean Crunch?? Aug 25 2010

just replying because i had go lean crunch for the first time this morning.  it did have clusters, but my clusters broke apart in the milk anyway.  i found it yummy, not overly sweet, but i also found the 1 cup serving a LOT to eat.  i usually have 1 cup of cerial in the morning, but this was MUCH more filling (which is good as it has more calories) i think tomorow i will have a half cup and see how that does.  i also like the idea of mixing with other cerials ;)

ive been told they can be frozen.  a half batch would be 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup flour and one egg, sugar and salt.  i know that works.  and they keep cooked in a plastic bag in the fridge for a couple days.  i usually wrap them in a paper towel before i bag them....

you guys make me smile:)

crepes: i do this in the blender.  makes 16 or so crepes (depending on the size of your pan)

1.5 cup fat free milk, 1 cup flour (whole wheat or white work... i do usually use white, but whole wheat gives a thicker texture and sweeter taste) 2 eggs, 1 tbsp sugar (but splenda works too) dash salt.

i blend till mostly smooth.  it will be runny... just thicker than heavy cream.  I heat my flat fry/griddle to med hot.  i used to use Teflon, now i use a 10 inch cast iron.  i spray with pam between every other crepe.

pour between 1/4 and 1/8 cup batter in the middle of the hot pan.  (a 3 inch puddle makes a 8-9 inch crepe)  tip the pan to let the batter spread in a circular motion to cover the bottom of the pan( it will be about 1/16 inch thick... this takes some practice) cooks about 2-3 minutes till the edges are more yellow than cream colored.  flip and cook 1-2 more minutes.  both sides should have light golden color and crispy edges are nice.  repeat till the batter is gone.

the batter will last a day or so in the fridge... 16 crepes feeds my husband, myself and my 9 yo daughter with a couple left over

we serve with small bowls of fillings... what ever is in the fridge that looks good.

Stuff i like: holindaise (sp) sauce, ham, cheese, tomatoes, shredded chicken with green chilis, fruit (strawberries, black berries, nectarines, bananas) cooked apples w/ cinamon, pumpkin pie filling, whipped cream, cream cheese, chocolate chips, nuts, honey, carmal or chocolate syrup, jam and jelly, lemon curd, powdered sugar,

the nice thing: 3 crepes fills me well with 150 cals + fresh fruit.  my husband likes meats, my daugher likes sweets, but the mix is nice.  and no, we don't ever have all of the above available...
