Call me judgemental or whatever, but people who use products with high levels of VOCs are the worst.. its bad when you are trying to enjoy your fresh air and some D bag's painting his house with high VOC paint... like its all good...

I cant eat my lunch while your paint is giving me leukemia .... I hate it!!

Indeed Spiro.  I suspect it'll look something like this.

Someone bumped the Teen Mom thread.  I just died a little inside.

I hate reality TV and immediately lose respect for anyone who watches it.

I have never had the desire to own a cell phone.

I like this video :) Dog is enjoying itself, baby is enjoying himself, dog is obviously not stressed but truly relaxed and GENTLE when the baby reaches for it's toy.

Perfect video to show contrast to the other.  The difference in how the Newfie is moving (fluid) compared to the Husky (herky jerky) is huge.

Even when the baby was shoving the toy in the Newfie's face he didn't get tense.  He turned his head and gave a couple quick lip licks ("hey, this is making me kinda uncomfortable") but he didn't get stiff or start behaving in a "I'm gonna freak out" manner like the Husky did when the kid touched him.

I've seen him hit a dog in the face on the show on multiple occasions.  Here is an example but this isn't from the show obviously.

There used to be many examples of him doing similar things on YouTube and the like, TV and out in real life settings, but he gets his lawyers to pull them down quickly.

OP, please don't even consider training your dog like Brad Pattison.  He's a hitter.  Hitting your dog isn't going to make your situation better.

I think the thing I get most annoyed about with Milan, beyond the choking the occasional dog out, is that he completely ignores the dog's body language.  If the dog complies it is automatically "calm submissive" even if it's anything but.  This was especially apparent in the older episodes.

Cesar confronts dog to get it to react.
Dog reacts.
Cesar manhandles dog.
Dog reacts again.
Cesar manhandles some more.
Dog stops reacting so it won't get manhandled but is showing signs of high stress.
Cesar says dog is calm submissive.

This is why it's dangerous folks.  If you can't tell a highly stressed dog from one who is actually calm submissive you might get bitten.

Like here.  Not Cesar, just an idiot family.  This video infuriates me.  If you don't see why let me explain...

Look at the dog's body language.  His ears are pulled back.  He's got the crazy "whale eye" thing going on.  His mouth is pulled back into a grimace (that's not a smile!).  Body is stiff not relaxed.  He keeps looking away.  His body language is screaming "I'm uncomfortable with this scary situation!"

But because he's complying with the wishes of his owners he's calm submissive, right?

NO!  They're lucky he has bite inhibition though.

^This.  Not a TV show.  Find a few in your area and call or e-mail them to get a feel for them.  If you need a specific recommendation let me know where you are and I'll see what I can dig up.

The money and time spent will be so worth it.  I promise.

Brian_, meat.  All meat has taurine in fair amounts (and cats are obligate carnivores).  For a more concentrated dose, feed heart meat.  Chock full of taurine-y goodness.

But here is something to consider: young people today grew up experiencing immediate gratification and/or recognition regardless of outcome (think video games where you do something and you get rewarded right away or soccer leagues where every kid gets a trophy no matter how awfully s/he played).

Gen Y-er here.  No one my age (mid to late 20s), that I personally know, played in a pee-wee sports league like that.  If you sucked you sucked, and if you sucked hard enough you sat on the bench and didn't get to play very much.

I think that's a newer thing.  Or at least it's newer for folks in the po-dunk areas of the country.
