hi i have only just noticed this any yh i know its from 2009 but the best way was not to smack the child as the child would have began to think that it was a game and when u put the child to bed then suddenly comes out u should at least warn the child 3  times if still dont listen then go down to the child level and try not to raise ur voice . if the child then still does not want to listen then u shall just repeat idly place the child back into bed and like i said if he  or she carry's on running out of the room u should NOT speak to them and place them in to bed because if u speak or interact with them then they will think it is ok to keep coming out of the room or keep screaming and crying  but eventually the child will then recognise that the behaviour IS NOT acceptable
