Where are the fruits and protein?

It was binge eating, I doubt fruits and protein were on their mind. :/

Weight Loss What will happen now? Feb 18 2008

A lot of weight loss as an after-effect of surgery will be water weight, as a result of less food being in your system, and less water to compensate for glycogen storages etc - so yes initially weight will return but if your diet is controlled then it is unlikely a significant amount of it will be fat. It'll come down to the extent at which your body may have been starving after the surgery as to wheather your metabolism has been affected but if it was only a short period of time it should be fine. :)

Rather than opt for the 2 slices of bread...chuck 1/2 - 1 cup of oats in the microwave with 1 1/2 - 3 cups of water. Similar calories but it'll fill you up a LOT more (and for longer!). Bread I don't find is all that filling to be honest. ):

A tofu + veggie option would also be excellent. Lot's of fiber and protein there. Protein is known to help control hunger levels and create satiation which sounds ilke what you need.

I often have ice cream and dark chocolate...they can fit into your diet; just eat a little bit and not both every day.

Your body is probably feeling deprived if you haven't been eating enough calories...which explains why the past two days you've eaten more. Break the cycle here and now by not starving yourself to make up for it; always eat above 1300 calories (by kind to your body!), and drink lots of water...just coz it'll make you feel good. :P

I would just get the 12, and then get it altered right before the event. :)

I do that sometimes as well with a piece of fruit, I eat too fast...still feel like I should have something else. Grab and apple and by the time I'm done with that I'm way overfull. D:

Eating slower I think is definatly the best way to solve it. Enjoy your meal. :)

Health & Support curious...weird eating habits from ED/OCD? Feb 11 2008

- I eat with miniture utensiles, and eat out of undersized servewere. ie, teaspones, cake forks, eating out of drinking glasses etc...

- I avoid eating full servings of carbohydrates w/ dinner, eg if we have chicken+rice for dinner I'll pick the chicken out of the rice.

- I perfer eating alone...

- I get really agitated if we have to go out for dinner/lunch - I refuse to be apart of the 'where should we go?' discussion, and I dread the whole experience.

- I get agitated also WAITING for food, as if I'm inately concerned that I will never be fed. I get really mean if my mum is cooking dinner and it's taking too long.

- I wander around the kitchen looking in the cupboard/fridge thinking I want to eat something when I'm not hungry...and i'll pick at weird things like teaspoon of jam etc..

Weight Loss Giving Up Caffeine? Feb 10 2008

i read that it is okay for pregnant women to have about 300mg of caffine a day...based on this i'd say it's okay and not demeritable to health to actually have this much caffine a day.
Young Calorie Counters 5'7" or 5'8" girls! What size are you? Feb 10 2008

I am a US size 4 on the bottom, and 2 on the top. Dresses are usually 2 unless they're particulary shaped around the hips.

I'm around 112 - 114lbs now...even when I was 100lbs I still couldn't get lower than a size 3 in jeans!

Damn my big ass :(

You can lose weight eating these foods, yes, but I don't think it should be an excuse to eat poorly. Weight loss isn't the only factor involved in any kind of diet, our bodies need fuel, and nutrients to run.

Additionally, if you have chocolate cake for dinner it isn't going to provide you with saiety...and you'll probably want to eat more in a short while.

Health & Support Girls with/used to have ED's, does/did this happen to you? Feb 09 2008

yeah it's true, if you don't eat enough you have nothing to poop out and any bowl movement becaues extremely difficult and infrequent...just because there's so little there.

Health & Support New here, question about ED recovery/starvation mode?? Feb 08 2008

As linny said it probably will take awhile for your body to recover, but it eventually will. The good news is that the phyiscal damage by anorexia is mostly reversable. Perservere in keeping your calorie intake up, yes you will gain weight + fat at first but as your body recgonizes, eventually, that the famine is over it will start to get out of the fat storing mode.

I'm sorry but I think that it's kind of selfish to assume that "she will not die" because you think she's like you. I do condone the fact that she shouldn't be given attention, but making such a generalization about her with having such little information about her is slightly ignorant.

To me, it sounds like she's scared of herself at the moment and she's seeking help. I'm glad that she's taking action instead of letting herself fall further into the harm that she's doing to herself.

I don't particulary want to start an argument, but I don't appreciate being called selfish+ignorant for making what I think is a justified claim. :/ (and I certinly don't think she will not die because she is "like me")

She won't die, and I stand by that. She is not living alone, she has her mother checking on her...you have to accept that outside of that there is little else to do to interfer. She has resources around her to live, she just has to decide to use them.

I think you would gain weight if you were to do this again. Teenagers have faster metabolisms, and there seems to be a "point" at which the body's metabolism slows and begins storing fat more easily (and women become more rounded). If that makse sense.

But you said you were like this at 25...so I don't really know! My gut tells me that you would gain weight, but who knows..

I have a habit of taking off the top half of any hamburger/sandwich I get. I enjoy it just as much without that extra layer of (white) bread.
