Hey, congrats on your weight loss! :)

I think my post was part panic and part frustration.

While I am loosing weight and inches my cheat days seem to be more frequent than my routine days! and I still think I would appreciate any suggestions on how to better my plan to achieve my goal.

The best tip that I can impart that really worked for me is to not deprive myself of things I want but to have it in moderation and work it into my calories for the day. After a few weeks I trained myself to be satiated with just for example one scoop of ice cream instead of three.

I know this isn't feasible for some but I find that eating every few hours really helps with cravings and keeps me from making poor dietary decisions because I am starving. What personally works for me is 250-300 calories for breakfast, same for lunch and two 100-150 cal snacks and then dinner is where I have the bulk of my calories. I try to make sure I have veggies with my lunch, one of my snacks and I try to eat them at dinner but that doesn't always work out. Laughing  On days I go to the gym I have a larger breakfast.

Hang in there, it seems like you are doing great and making great progress.

Hi,

We seem to have similar stats. I am 27 and currently at 156, I also work a desk job. I lost 10 pounds the last few months of 2010 on 1600-1700 a day so I would agree with the previous poster that maybe 1400 isn't enough calories. It seems like you are doing well so I am having trouble understanding what is stressing you out about your current effort.

I always thought some people were good looking, but I don't think I've ever felt "Wow, that person is hot"...unless a have a few cocktails. Maybe I don't have a sex drive :/

Maybe some of us just impress easier than others Smile [not that I am talking about myself or anything LOL]

arg, so many sexy men to chose from..

I'll have to say Johnny Depp and Michael Cera.. so hot.. so hot.

I can't judge since I have a thing for Michael Emerson and Alan Rickman both men older than my father [creepy I know] but Michael Cera is definitely not one I saw coming. Thanks for posting!

For 2010:

Jake Gyllenhaal (Prince of Persia)

Johnny Depp (Public Enemies, The Tourist)

Gerald Butler (The Bounty Hunter)

Edit: I agree with Damon and Chuck Bass :D

I also thought both brothers in Supernatural were hot.

Oh yeah, Bill and Eric from True Blood.... DUH! :DD

Gerard Butler can make a movie of him reading from a phone book and I would go watch it.

Bill and Eric from True Blood.....ridiculously hot.

TV - Jared Padalecki

Movies - Paul Bettany (as always)

Music - Brandon Flowers

But of those three, the gold will always go to Paul Bettany. Because there is none greater.

Paul Bettany, interesting...never hear him mentioned in these types of conversations. I always just remember him from A Knight's Tale. Never heard of the other two fellas. Definitely not bad looking guys all around. Thanks for posting!

You mean to tell me that you can sit through The Vampire Diaries, but you don't watch Supernatural? Oh, there's something wrong with that. :P (Jared Padalecki plays Sam on SN.)

I was never much of a CW network watcher and by the time I can around to it the show was a few seasons in. I might have to put in on my netflix list. Smile

on days that i lose all care in the world, i consume anywhere from 500-900. i just get too distracted to eat. i drink a lot of green tea throughout the day. on days i try, around 1200-1400 (which is almost every day). i tried calorie shifting too, but it didnt do anything for me.

i logged calories for about 2 months, and i should have lost weight between my calories intake and calories burned.. but i didnt :(

we got a kinect and dance central, and its a blast (and great exercise), but i just havent felt any motivation because i feel like it wont do anything. i just dont know when i should be seeing any results.  i get frustrated too easily.

My stats are very similar to yours, except I am 5 years older. I have lost ten pounds on 1600-1700 calories with exercising 3-4 times a week. Maybe your calorie intake is too low?

Maybe you should go to an all-human gym. I wouldn't work out next to chickens. Maybe I'm just species-ist.

the problem lies in the fact that I enjoy the company of all the other farm animals.

it's not the actual talking. It's the volume. There is no need to be that loud. I have headphones on and can still hear them. This is why I show up an hour early and only get the pleasure of their company for about 5 minutes.

I just needed to vent.

I agree  I'm not going to feel guilty about celebrating!!  I notice when I am dieting though, I still eat less at these traditional pig-outs  than when I am just eating without any structures....

Ditto, I find myself being satisfied with much less food and if I try to eat as much as I used to my body does not like it at all.

Weight Loss Obese and losing weight consuming 1400-1600 calories? Nov 17 2010

I am 5'3" and I started at 173 two years ago. I did the power 90 diet and exercise program and lost 10 pounds in about a month and I was able to keep it off. Not quite sure how many calories I was eating then. I stopped doing the power 90 diet and exercise for reasons I can't quite remember. In July 2010 I decided to get healthy and joined a gym. I became really committed to eating better and exercising and eating between 1500-1700 calories a day and exercising 3-5 times a week. I have lost another 10 pounds, So, it's totally doable on those calories.
