that sounds delicious. and totally reasonable. i guess i just viewed the ad as promoting the "food as reward" phenomenon that i'm trying to escape, especially when it listed the daily tasks that deserve a (chocolate) reward. but having chocolate as a part of your daily routine doesn't hurt, if you can do it in a manageable way, which it sounds like you do. |

Nothing- and it would be fine if the ad said that.
Instead, they say "reward yourself for the little things...every day"
"getting the kids to school on time" "getting all the errands done" we shouldn't reward ourselves with food when we do our everyday tasks!
Nothing is wrong with a little chocolate on occasion. |

I need to stop flocking to the free food at work! I had a delicious lunch of quinoa with black beans and broccolini...and of course, there's left over Dominos in the kitchen. Dominos isn't even good pizza! UGH! How do I deal with this????

I know this feeling. Sometimes it is so hard to maintain the motivation, even when you KNOW what you want the end result to be, and you can conceptualize what you need to do to get to your goal. You are NOT being a baby or a wimp. Everyone hits a wall, and it's not always the easiest one to overcome. BUT- you can do it! Here are some suggestions: -Switch up your exercise- Try a different kind of cardio- kickboxing class, swimming, jog with a buddy, rollerblading...the possibilities are endless. When I get sick of running, I go for a swim, make someone play intense tennis with me, etc... also, try yoga/pilates or some sort of flexibilty training. -not sure what your diet situation is like, but cooking can be SO FUN and there are millions of healthy recipes out there. When I feel sluggish, i find something new and refreshing to make and I feel doubly rewarded when I am eating a delicious and healthy meal from scratch (AND you can move around the kitchen to music while preparing the food!) essentially, when you're feeling stuck, try some variety! Also, you should find a buddy to do these things with. I would not be as motivated if I didn't have a friend with me at yoga, or someone to cook with. Best of luck to you...not that you need it! |
