Hello, my husband bought one a few years back and I have to honestly say that we have not used it as much as we should. I starting using it more this year, but I only use it for a few exercises as I am currently doing a weight lifting routine (New Rules of Lifting for Women) and I use it as a bench as well as an alternative for my lat pull downs, my seated rows and woodchops as I do not have a cable machine at home so it has come in handy more recently. |

Wow Bier I am jealous! I would love to be able to do just one pushup and one pullup. Hi Faith. I started the NROLFW a few months ago. I am currently on Level 5. When I started I started with bodyweight (lol), yup bodyweight for squats. I was able to make it up to 75lb squats but I have not returned to the squat yet so I don't know where I am at now. My step ups are now 25lbs (each hand), I think I started around 10-15 lbs. Overhead press I started with 10lbs and up to 25lbs. Seated row started at 60 and am now up to 90. Deadlift started at around 60 and am now up to 100. Lat pulldown started around 70, now up to 90. I still cannot do a regular pushup (ugh), I am blaming it on my extra heavy chest (lol). I also remember barely being able to do a prone jackknife, now I have no problem doing those. |

Enell Sports Bra. Expensive ($60) but worth every penny if you are large chested. I tortured myself for years because I could not find a sports bra to fit my large chest. I finally broke down and bought an Enell and now I wished I had purchased one sooner. I no longer suffer doing anything high impact. Worth every penny. |

Thank you everyone for your comments. Dbacker you have definitely peaked my curiosity with regard to the NROL for Abs. I am currently doing the NROLFW and I am going to skip any lower leg lifting |

It always seems to happen when I do lower ab work. I typically don't hurt from squatting and deadlifting, it always seems to go out when I do any type of leg lifting exercises (i.e. reverse crunches or double leg drop with stability ball). Although I have been doing those types of exercises for sometime but every once in a while, bam it goes out. I thought maybe it was a female prolapse thing going on but not sure. One of these days I am going to go to the doctor when it happens. I always seem to heal back up within a week or so, so I don't feel the need to go to the doctors as I am back to my normal routine within a week or so. I make sure that I don't go too heavy but I do want to challenge myself. |

Thank you dbackerfan for bumping this one up, I really struggled on those front squat push presses last night. I thought I was going to choke myself to death (lol) as the bar was resting on my throat (lol) so of course I knew that my form was all wrong and my wrists really hurt too! It was really awkward trying to go right into the push press too, I had to pause to get the grip right to push the bar up. I am going to read this thread a couple of times and watch the videos before I have to perform it again on Friday. I will also tell my sister Veeminator as she is about to start Stage II. Very helpful everyone thank you! |

Some of my worst binges that I can actually remember because I think I go into auto pilot is for one meal chowing down on a whole 12 inch overstuffed Cheesesteak Sub with the works, extra large fry with gravy and a Jim Dandy from Friendly’s. Sad to say but I have also dusted off a large 18 inch pizza before (ugh). Also, I could sit down and eat a whole family size bag of anything salty and crunchy and still want more so I do not bring any large bags of crunchy salty snacks into the house other than 94% fat free buttered popcorn! |

Since starting the New Rules of Lifting for Women I am so pysched up, I actually look foward to lifting. My sister is also doing the program and she loves it too! It helps having a program figured out instead of me creating one for myself, as I am not that creative (lol). I also get some looks from the guys when I head over to the squat rack (lol)! |

I aspire to be like you two ladies! Dbackerfan - I actually tried the TRX suspension training one time. The personal trainer I hired a while back had me do one TRX session. I have to say it was pretty good and challenging. I did like it. Different for sure. |

Cut in half, scoop out middle and place in microwave until outer skin is soft. I think it is like 10 minutes in microwave but could be a few more minutes. Take fork and scrape out. |

This happened to me a few weeks ago because I was not warming up properly. I walk to the gym and thought no warm up was needed as I was rushing to get there and that is when I started experiencing a terrible pain in the back of my head when I started doing bench presses (I thought I had a tumor or something lol). Anyway now I always get on the treadmill for at least 5-10 minutes and get my blood pumping before I start lifting. |

Don’t feel bad, I was supposed to start NRLFW on Monday and Sunday night I was talking to my hubby and told him that I wanted to purchase a weight bench, barbell and weights (to go along with my thigh master and gut buster – LOL – yes one of my more laughable purchases) but anyway he said that there was a barbell with some weights out in the shed so I go out there all excited and gung-ho and pull the weighted barbell out and I tried to act like Hercules in front of my hubby and attempted to do a dead lift push press, well I got it as far as my chest and he had to grab it and needless to say I pulled my back out by goofing off and now I am walking around like a 90 year old lady so I most likely will not be able to start the NRLFW until next Monday (UGH). That’s what I get for trying to act like Hercules. I just wanted to give you a good laugh and make you feel better. |

Colemacj, you may want to try the Enell, I am a G and it's the only one so far that I was able to find in my size. It definitely holds you down during running or jumping type activities. I finally felt comfortable in the gym when my trainer had me jumping rope for 30 second intervals. |

Enell Sports Bra. I can't brag enough about this bra. Tried many different ones over the last 10 years. This is the only one that I have found that is comfortable and actually holds the girls in place. Great support for high impact activities. Downside, it is expensive ($60), do not dry - it wills shrink and not very attractive but it will hold you in place. |

Congratulations, that has to be a wonderful feeling! I am 201.5 and it seems as though every time I get close to the 200 pound mark, I sabotage myself. Well no more, I told myself the beginning of this week that I will go below 200! Again, congratulations!

I think that was what the trainer was doing (metabolic circuit training), it was lighter weights, higher reps (20) and I did not really rest in between, she had me going from one thing to the next to keep my heart rate up. I go to the gym on my lunch and I can only squeeze in like 30-35 minutes so she was squeezing in as much as she could. I recently started doing cardio in the morning at home (30 minutes) so that is why I was thinking of going back to a strength routine on my lunch but was not sure whether or not I should continue with lower weights, higher reps. I did like BFFM but the only thing that I wished there was more of was more routines or how do I say it - photos regarding proper form when lifting, etc. I have been going to the gym for years now but I am not confident when it comes to lifting heavy free weights, as I am not completely sure about form and technique. I know the basics, that is about it from watching other people. That is why I hired the trainer and she has showed me many new things and has gotten me away from using the machines so much and had me doing a lot more with free weights. That is why I am thinking I should try the New Rules of Lifting for Women to get a routine and learn about proper form. This has been very helpful and I have a lot to learn and really appreciate everyone's comments. Knowledge is power. Now if I can just practice everything that I am learning! Thanks everyone. |

Thanks for all responses. I totally agree with ya about my diet, that is one that has been a life long battle that one day I will conquer, I just have to want it bad enough! The BFFM book is a good book but very long. It explains everything in complete detail. I read it because I thought what the heck, if anyone knows how to change their body, a body builder definitely does. A lot of stuff that I read, I already knew or had read about but sometimes I need to hear common sense (lol). I pretty much read anything I can get my hands on it is just a shame that I cannot apply everything that I have read (lol). I think my next purchase is going to be the New Rules of Lifting for Women, what the heck, at this point I have nothing to lose! Thanks everyone. |
