Honestly,

WHAT are you eating will also have an impact on your weight loss. Calories are not all considered equal and you will want to make sure that whatever your calorie intake is, it needs to be well-rounded, healthy, nutrient rich foods.

You shouldn't be gaining on 1,500 calories and if you are you may want to double check your calorie counts. More times than not, people are estimating their calories incorrectly.

Also, it only takes a 30 minute exercise a day. Wake up 45 minutes earlier than you normally do and fit it in. It's worth it. The more you work out, the more energy you have, the better you look and the more motivated you are to wake up and work out again.

My 2 cents!

I was once pulling out of my parking spot at the grocery store when I saw someone get stabbed in my rearview mirror.  I was about to call the cops on my cell phone when I saw police running across the lot.  I had forgotten that my grocery store was so ghetto that they have a near constant police presence.

Other than that....nothing too weird.

You saw someone get... stabbed?  That sounds rather terrifying.

My grocery store trips seem very boring now.

I was literally thinking the same thing lol WTF

Weight Loss Why/How did I gain 7lbs this weekend? Nov 21 2011

Drink a lot of water to flush out the extra sodium it sounds like you must have consumed in order to fluctuate that high.

Weight Loss Do you work out on your period? Nov 21 2011

I always work out through mine and it always seems to help a lot. If you aren't working out the week before your period that might be making it worse too, so try and be consistent and stay with the same routine throughout.

If it severely hurts and is a result of working out you may want to ask your doctor, it could be a sign of cysts or something.

Try going to bed earlier :) Or doing something that you can't do while eating- like reading before bed.

Chances are it's because of your profile pic (I suggest you use something less suggestive), secondly you can set pictures of yourself) in your gallery so that they can be only viewed by friends (which is what I did).

OH!!! I don't think I ever noticed that you could make your gallery pictures private. Thank you!

Bananas are SO cheap, so is nonfat milk, frozen chicken breasts, yogurt isn't terrible, I mean probably the only REAL expensive things are the veggies :) But regardless I'm a college student and I can still afford to live off of things other than top ramen and potato chips... lol

I don't really understand why you are posting your menu anyway if you know how many calories you are eating and you think it is a good balanced amount then why post it at all?

Who cares what a bunch of random people on the internet think about your diet?

I can tell you that most of the people here are looking to help you, and if you don't like the responses you are getting- why ask for them?

Don't lose motivation- because you will NEVER be able to run 1 mile if you don't try and try and try. Take it slow and work up to it. I used to only be able to run 1 mile at a time (and felt like dying after!)

1 year later I just finished my second 10K and I did it in less than 50 minutes :) placing very high in my age/gender group.

Keep your head up!!!

And yes-Couch to 5K

When I first came to the forums these things bothered me a lot also, but for the most part we must realize that calling people out and harsh words will not change the way anyone works. Especially ED, those with ED think quite differently in regard to food and their bodies-

Your best bet is to not let these posts bother you nor let them trigger your old feelings. For those reaching for help, we as a good willed community must offer them words of support, but for those who obviously are not ready for help we have to just leave be because there is nothing that we can do...

I find it strange how angry the posts used to make me. lol

i think this question, like a lot of similar gripes, is largely dependent on how one defines "friend."  i don't need my friends to state the obvious, and i don't need them to read my mind, and i don't need them to be just like me.

 don't you think its a bit weird for you to lose a significant amount of weight, and a friend that you see on a regular basis doesn't comment on it AT ALL?

I think it would be a bit hurtful IMO

i think there are lots of reasons why someone might not comment.

  1. they don't want to be interpreted as saying that you are/were fat;
  2. they don't want you to feel bad later if you gain the weight back;
  3. they're worried that you're losng too much, and don't want to encourage you;
  4. they're overweight themselves, and are afraid of losing you; or (and this is the one i choose to believe),
  5. they love you for who you are, not for how much you weigh, and genuinely couldn't care less whether you're fat or thin.

 I agree with this statement by Pgeorgian 150%. Especially number 1&4

It's a fad and we like the way it looks! :) I have mine hehe. I got it when I was 16 though-- so if it closed up I wouldn't redo it. It is pretty much the only facial piercing that is socially acceptable in professional atmospheres.

Health & Support Bloated, chronic diarreha, increased hunger and big time water retention? Jan 11 2010

Go see your doctor! I don't know about ED recovery but dancerqueen1 said that these are normal while recovering-

but you should still check with your doctor. These can also be signs of serious issues including a parasite (which occurs more often than you would expect), chronic diarrhea, food intolerance, etc... ALL of which can lead to malnutrition if you do not seek to correct it soon enough. :) good luck

Weight Loss Egg Whites? Jan 09 2010

The only problem with egg whites is that in the microwave they tend to "explode" :) the yolks keep that to a minimum..... but i use these egg cups that have locking lids. even though the 'locks' blew off one LOL (need to replace that!)

 I was having this problem too but when I just put the egg whites into a bowl and microwave them for a very short time like 15-20 seconds, check them, maybe 15-20 more seconds- they don't explode everywhere. LoL.

 I've never microwaved an egg.  It only takes a minute to scramble one.  I only have eggs on Sunday morning -we go to work too early to cook - and Hubby likes to cook breakfast on weekends.  Lucky me.  I do hardboil some for salads sometimes.

 I wouldnt microwave a whole egg! Only egg whites. Usually this is because I have NO time and usually the pans are dirty- or I don't want to get them dirty and then have to clean them. But I live with 4 other people. I also put them in a small container to microwave if I am going to put them into an egg sandwich- it turns out the perfect shape and size.

Foods Food phases? Jan 08 2010

Gosh I go through these phases a lot. Usually with peanut butter. Also I work in restaurants so I will go through a roasted chicken phase where I eat our roasted chicken every single time I work for months! I also go through M&M phases where I cannot help but buy peanut M&Ms like multiple times a week!

Or chips&salsa, I go through those phases too.

Gahhh I think that trying to mix it up is really important, so that things like oatmeal don't get old (I went through that phase too, but I'm over it now!)
