My husband and I just started Insanity today.  He only agreed to do it with me if I promised not to get mad when he lost weight instantly and I didn't.  I know this is the truth since we have been married for 10 years and all he has to do is think about a diet or exercise program and it seems like he starts losing.    It isn't just about the weight loss though - how do you feel?  how are your fit tests looking?

SO FRUSTRATED! I have been working out consistently for the past two weeks and the scale keeps going up - this is not supposed to happen.  BOO.  I am keeping in my calorie range of about 1500-1700 on days that I get a full work out in and about 1300-1400 on days that I don't

Well I weighed Wednesday but I didn't have time to log in until now

So I was up .8 of a lb - I worked out three times last week so that weight was a little discouraging.

So apparently I missed the entire month of October - been a long month - wedding, traveling, kids, soccer, church stuff.  Glad the outdoor activities are dying down and I have a moment or two to myself.

I have been bouncing around the same 2-3 pound range and I knew that I wasn't going to drop any further on calories alone, I needed to get my butt in gear and join a gym.  So I finally convinced DH to let me - of course then he joined to so it is costing me twice as much as I was planning and I know he will never go.  He did this at the last gym we were members at before we even had the kid excuse.  It was only $10 a month so it could be worse I guess.  I went last night after the kids were in bed for the first time.  I forgot how relaxing and stress relieving working out in a gym was, no one to bother me or remind me of something that needed to be done.  It was the first time I haven't missed my elliptical.  I got a much better workout than I ever would have at home

Considering it is right after Halloween and it has been a month since I weighed - I will take the one pound gain and know that next week with my added workouts will be better

I am 31 and we just bought the third house we have owned - one at a time though - we bought our first house when we were 23. we have moved a few times since - we took a huge loss our the house we just sold but we sold it and were able to buy a new one - we are not made of money but the only other debt we have is our student loans that we are paying down as fast as possible. I am a teacher in a small private school so even though I have a masters degree we don't have an income that allowed us to pay out right for schooling.

I can't imagine living with my parents that long - the thing that annoys me is people i know that are living with their parents and even though they can't afford to move out they keep procreating.  So now them and their kids live in their parents basement.  If you can't even afford to live on your own - how in the world do you think you can afford kids

@leia - my sister is the same way - she is 5'7" and maybe 120, she prob gained 20 pounds in the last 5 years because growing up she was a 100 soaking wet - now she has boobs and I am always jealous of her figure.  She inherited my dad's build and I inherited my mom's - which tells me I will always have to watch what i eat and work out in order to stay in normal range.  i am not back to there yet but hope to be soon.

Slowly but surely it is coming off!  i can start to feel my clothes fitting better and not so tight.  So that is a good thing.  I have an entire bucket of size 8 clothes that I almost took to the consignment store but changed my mind.  I AM going to fit into them again.  I am mostly in 12's right now but they are getting a little loose.  Another couple pounds and I will be back into my 10's

@iapologize  I always have my lowest weight on Fridays too - I ussually don't re-hit that low weight for a week and a half after.  It is annoying.I also have a stick figure sister - 4 inches taller and prob 120 on a bad day.

@sara - I think you are at the point now where the actual number doesn't matter just how you are feeling and looking.

@mnward - great job!

@olehcat - you are getting there just a bit at a time just like me

My oldest is 4  and  little bear is 2

O has been through so much testing to figure out what is wrong with him - all they can tell us it is an unexplained respiratory infection - he has 70% lung capacity at this time so soccer season has been put on hold for now - he LOVES soccer and is a star on the field.  He got sick a lot last school year and had a lot of genetic testing done to rule some things out but at this point we just know that his has a low white blood count and anytime he is exposed to illness he gets it 10 times worse than any other kid. He was a preemie but not a micro so his health shouldn't be this affected.  I have seen some loss over the past couple days - but now I am sick - ugh

@nmward - there are some great yoga apps on android too

@momma - good luck with the baby shower

I gave up for a while - gained way too much weight and am back to get into it and lose the weight!  The public announcement part always helps me too - Although it doesn't help me to tell the people around me what my goals are because then i get too self conscious and don't eat enough - it is weird when people know i am dieting i over analyze everything.  I would love to see 148 - 150ish is my goal right now and I have about 16 more pounds to get there.  My goal before kids was always around 140.

Good Luck - keeping counting and stay positive

one pound - i will take it even though i saw a 165 over the weekend and then I spend three nights with no sleep and no time to workout due to two sick kids - ugh -  the older one we have no idea what is wrong with - he had blood taken and a chest xray today - he keep running high fevers with no explanation and they won't give him anything

Maybe you need to start responding with something about how glad you were to even be able to have kids at all - wouldn't it be nice to just want a child and it have it happen instead of having to go through everything that you did.  I know the struggle of wanting a child and not having it happen the way you wanted it to.

I weighed yesterday but never got on the computer

so I basically maintained but I think I am retaining water from that time of the month - i don't really have a full cycle with the iud so i rarely notice it except for the water retention and weight.

Goal for this week - workouts!!! I used to be "addicted" to working out but these toddlers exhaust me and it is the last thing i want to do lately even though I know I need to

tomorrow's weigh in - praying for a good number - I haven't been logging  as well as I should have and today was the first day of school which has me a little stressed out.

Over the weekend I was not a good girl

I need to start getting out of bed earlier and working out before the kids wake up.

I have won one round of biggest loser and did it the healthy way - aka being here and following a healthy diet and exercise - i lost 20 pounds in 4 months - I worked my butt off literally - i kept it off until i got pg - that was in 2006 -- i did it again this fall after having two kids - i once again did it the healthy way and truly lost the weight - i can in third but our moderator (it was part of a moms group) commented to many people that i was the only one who truly won because the two girls that lost more than me did it by starving and drinking some diuretic tea that made them poop all the time - personally not my style

@crystal - run the numbers again with either moderate or light and see what you get - It sounds like you put in sedentary lifestyle and that is not what you are with the 30 min jog.   - I am thinking that you need to be somewhere around 1300-1500 intake.  You are probably buring more than you think you are - plus you have to add those 300 to your bmr -  so if you are 1300 + 300 = 1600 a day - which means you should be trying for at least 1200 calories a day - but my guess is you are closer to the 2000 BMR with the workout
