I lost another inch off of my waist and an inch off my bust and one off my hips (I think I will have to get out my old journal to make sure) but am at 41 36 42 now so that is pretty good... imagine if I really put effort into it

mocha I would like to be a size six, that is the end goal, one day I will reach it but right now I just don't want to work that hard, maybe next week will be better. It also doesn't help that I have a cold at the moment that is making everything more difficult to do.

I am still hanging in there, but am in one of those "why bother" funks, I mean I am sexy and I know it so this whole thing sounds like a ton of effort for very little reason.

ksan sorry it took me so long to answer but my mom and I went on a road trip so I haven't really been around all that much it seems. We own a music (instruments) store and academy. So it is interesting, if a bit of a challenge.

oons I have the opposite problem I have to talk myself up (I am down on myself . I don't want to eat but know I ought to so tempt myself with crap then have eaten a box of chocolates and call it dinner lol. I hope the pounds fall off for you.

I am practicing calm talking, talking in a calm controlled way, in an attempt to be in tune with my emotions. I read an article that said that that can help, it seems to be working so far (though I sound really fake to myself)

niecy yeah, chris will listen, in fact it was him getting annoyed about me not talking to him anymore that broke open the box of sads and mads (as I call it). My ankle is good enough to cycle but not to elliptical (for more than 5 minutes... I tried yesterday) and def not to run. My problem with talking is I don't know what causes the emotions I am feeling half of the time, so will be like I am mad but don't know why, and then will get frustrated trying to come up with the why which makes everything worse but I am going to try talking to chris (and you guys more)

welcome to all the newbies.

Where is everyone else.

I hate people so much today. Also I need tips on how to deal with emotions so that I don't put them in a box and never deal with them and then have a day where they all explode and I want to die. So what are your tips for processing emotions properly?

nicey it hurts and it is swollen and I hate my stupid cats. I got up in the middle of the night because my boyfriends cat was messing with stuff on his desk and he isn't supposed to be up there so I got up to shoo him off and on my way over accidentally stepped on another cats tail but the cat was ok (well didn't make a sound) so I shoo Doom off the table and then am walking back to bed and what ever cat it was i stepped on moves and trips me... I tried to not fall and to not hurt the cat but could only manage one, so I fell and turned my ankle trying to not kick the cat. Stupid cats. I figure maybe tomorrow or Friday probably or Sunday for sure I will be able to bicycle at the gym again and now I have to work my ankle back up to the elliptical for the fourth time this year.

ksan don't let a gain of 4 pounds discourage you just figure out what is causing it. What does your typical day of eating look like?

today I went to the gym before work, so was in the gym just after 5, only did 25 minutes as I was tight on time but better than nothing. As I have said before I am hoping Sept 15 to Oct 15 will be my biggest loss. I am aiming for all water weight gone so am eating really clean. I want to be at 180 October 15th, It will be hard to hit that goal but I am going to give it a try.

akela my real goal is size 6, I am focusing on the measuring tape so am just guessing a size. When I weighed 155 I was a size 10 so I figure 10 pounds a size. I know muscle weighs more than fat so that is why size is more importaint than weight. I am almost 5'5. great job on day 2!

bettie you are ripped, at least your pics seem so, muscle weighs more than fat so I would say you are in great shape. Also thanks for the inspiration.

kathleen I hate almost every weight loss app I have tried for my android. I like the "weight watchers" one I've found which basically is a better interface than the companies own. But for counting calories I really liked https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id =com.fitnow.loseit&hl=en

somehow I lost 3 inches this last month. Don't ask how, I have no idea. I have also decided to add the scale back to my measuring, 195.8 today. so like 4 pounds down. 61 pounds to go!

mocha mocha, you can do it at home until you need heavy weights (unless you have heavy weights at home). I would say, if you have no equiptment maybe a gym membership is the way to go. how long have you been doing boot camp and do you like it? because if it isn't awesome and you don't look forward to going maybe a gym membershhip would be better...

akela my issue with running is my hip. day one threw it out so now I am hesitant to try again until a)it is fixed and b)it is stronger. I am thinking of having a session with a running coach to see if it is something wrong with my gait, that could be causing the issue. Woot for doing day 1!!

nicey signing up for a race is a good way to make sure you get into shape.

krista welcome to the group!

kathleen woot! Maui!

I think I might do C25K on the Elliptical and then redo it on the treadmill , thoughts? I know the elliptical isn’t the same but by my logic if I can get “running” on it and work my cardio up then worry about the act of running?? No? Opinions please?

Also I am totally amazed how much of a difference 3 days of good eating and cardio made to my waist line, imagine what a month will do… though I did fall off the wagon already. My new niece got readmitted to the hospital with bad bilirubin levels (not sure if it is high or low) so they are treating her. And my downstairs people just had their baby (thought it was a girl but came out a boy) and her labour was awful and she kept waking me up with her screams of agony (if I ever needed more reasons to not have a baby that did it there). And Chris' Grandpa is in the hospital and it is all just awful.

Dutchess sounds like you are doing great! How are the babies?

Kathleen paddle boarding always looks like fun, I may have to get over my fear of water one day and try it.

Akela running sucks. I hate it. Woot for 30 pounds down! Jogging 20 seconds is awesome! It is double what you could do yesterday, and it isn’t often we do twice as good at an exercise the very next day so woot for that! Being better prepared is a good thing. I will keep my eye out for Bigelow tea, I haven’t noticed it before though.

Mocha I think we have all done that gain 20 pounds in a month thing at one point or another. Good for you nipping the gain in the bud now! Don’t be discouraged, just change your mindset (I know just right like it is just that easy… bull s*** on that one) but it is true, change one thing at a time. For me the “biggest” change this week was taking all of the candy I lie to myself about and measuring it out into reasonable (3 WW point) servings. Now I can have it if I budget for it. Also admitting that I lost what endurance I had gained by being inactive for August, now my goal is to get that back. It is the small daily changes that make the difference in the end. My number one piece of advice is to post here often, even when you feel like a total failure because by posting here you will remind yourself of your goal and that there are people who share your goal and want the best for you! (lol just read Akela’s post and realized I said pretty much the same thing). My mom eats great, my dad used to bribe me with candy so I think that is why candy is such a hurdle for me, my brain associates it with being good. The New Rules of Lifting for Women is awesome! If you decide to start it I will restart it with you. I started it months ago but then the cats popped my swiss ball so I needed to get a new one (which I did, but I have yet to inflate it)

Nicey Christmas is a good goal!

ksan grats on your binge free streak 25 days is pretty great! Great work! Sorry your counselor left. Maybe it would help your boyfriend issue if you talked over with him your own s*xual needs, and came up with ideas not to become complacent... how long have you guys been together? I like the date jar idea, fill a jar with date ideas, set a date night and that night draw an idea from the jar and do that together, put a mix of home and out dates in the jar that way you can always throw back a night out if you want to stay in. It breaks up the monotony of same old routeen.
