I am a 25 year old higher education administrator. In other words, I loved college so much I decided to stay there forever! I moved to Maryland in Summer 2008 for a job and have been loving living and working in the DC area.

My weight loss journey has been a long one. On January 9, 2007 at 238 lbs, I decided enough was enough. I began logging my meals - sporadically at first. I would eat 1600-1800 calories a day, spending 30-40 minutes on the elliptical at my University Rec Center a few times a week.

I had used calorie count as a reference tool for most of January, and offically joined on January 24. Since then, I've lost over 90 lbs, with the first 80 coming off in 2007.

In 2008, I shifted my focus from losing the weight to getting in shape, with the goal of running a 5K by the end of the year. While I didn't run the race, I have achieved my goal - I now run 5K 3-4 times a week.

In 2009, I want to get strong by shifting my focus to strength training. I am beginning the New Rules of Lifting for Women, and am so excited! I'd love to lose about 10 lbs. more, but if that doesn't happen and I see progress in other areas, I'll be satisfied.

I credit CC with so much of my loss. The tools, as well as the online community have been such an inspiration and motivational tool - I can't imagine going through this journey without it. It has opened my eyes to the importance of diet and portion control. I am confident that this is a change I have made for life. There's no going back :).
