seriously though...of course depending on your height...how can being overweight by ten pounds be considered fat??? If you look in the mirror and see a "fat" person when you are only ten pounds overweight then I think there are more serious issues at hand. You may not feel good about your body persay but you are by no means fat. Would you walk into weight watchers and say I am here because I am ten pounds overweight and I am so fat I cant take it anymore? I am thinking no. It is frustrating to me when people say they are fat when they are not!!!! unhappy with their weight..yes...fat no!

I wasnt expecting so much response to this post. I still feel like my words didnt come out the way I meant them to and now you all think I am this big B*%$#H! but I am not...just venting i guess. I will be the first to admit like I said before...maybe I am just jealous that I have such a long way to go and others dont. I hope everyone lives a happy healthy lifestyle and is losing weight, maintaining or toning for the right reasons in the right ways. For yourself not for someone else.

I am not judging anyone at all....the person who wrote I am 5'8 and 120 pounds I am so fat seems to be the only person who is understanding what I am talking about. I am not judging someone cuz they have 5 pounds to lose, in fact I think its great. Its just the ones who say they are sooooooo fat when they are about as big as my arm! They know they are not fat but yet say it anyway. It makes me feel like a big fat heffer! No it isnt anyone elses fault but my own that I have 68 pounds to lose and I am not blaming it on anyone else either. like I said everyone has a right and a reason to be here, it is just one of those things that I cant understand. Also I said in an earlier post if you are here all along and are on your last 5 pounds than that is one thing but to sign up knowing you only have 5 pounds to lose doesnt make sense to me! I will be here when I have 5 pounds to lose to and I will be congratulating myself not saying how fat i am...i know what fat is!

I understand and I apologize to everyone I may have offended! I will probably use this site when I am to the maintaining point in my weight loss and try to help people out if I can, but I dont think I will be posting things about how fat I am at 135 when my goal is 130. BUT maybe I am wrong...I am not there yet so I dont know what I will do. I am thinking now that I posted this I better not post about having 5 pounds to lose cuz then I will be a big HYPOCRIT!!!! sorry everyone and wish you all the best in acheving your goals whether it is 5 pounds or a 100!

i see what you are all saying...if someone was trying to lose 50 pounds and they have been here since the beginning and have 5 to go that is one thing (and great)...but to sign up knowing you only have 5 pounds to lose is different in my opinion. You all have good points and I should of just kept my mouth shut but I just felt I needed to say it.

ok so I am going to be completely honest with you from my own experience. People do not gain weight when they quit smoking because they find other things to do with their hands. Smoking boosts your metabolism and when you quit your metabolism drops a bit. The thing is if you quit and gain a couple pounds and then start again cuz you dont want to gain anymore weight well dont bother cuz that wont help. If you start your metabolism will maintain its current level or a teensy bit more but if you quit agin it will drop even lower! This is from my doctors mouth and he was exactly right cuz I started and stopped and started and stopped. My metabolism dropped very low from doing this and I did gain about 20-25 pounds BUT....if you quit once, stick to it and eat healthy as I assume you are cuz you are here, I believe you will do good! I am officially a non-smoke for a little under a year now and since I finally quit for good I feel so much better!!!!! No more yucky taste in my mouth in the morning, no more stinky smoke smell, i can breathe (thats a bonus!) and it just feels good to be a non smoker. I have been losing weight now consistently but when I was a yo-yo smoker i just kept gaining! I hope this helps you! I hope you can quit...like weight loss you have to really WANT to do it. You wont quit if you dont really want to. I tried and tried and then one day I was like I DONT WANT TO SMOKE ANYMORE! So I got the free patch from the quitline and used it for about a week and never went back! Believe me it is just as rewarding as seeing the pounds go down on the scale! Your wallet will get fatter but not you if you do it right!

i dont know the answer to that but I decided I am not weighing myself from now (cuz I am bloated) until it is over for two days. Even on the last day you can still be a little bloated...So thats my plan...

Ya I know I will be good! It is nice to fantasize about it though...When it comes down to it I would have to much guilt to eat and drink the bad stuff. If I have any beer it would probably be 1 coors light! I am not a big drinker so I am not to worried about that. But I think i will make a vegie tray...good idea! I can pick at that and not feel guilty!! Maybe I will have 1 glass of red wine instead of the beer..not as bad for me... Thanks HK!

hmmm....now you got me craving pizza and wings!!!! it just might be a bad day for Ronae here in Buffalo!!!! I could have my 4 favorites things tonight and regret it tomorrow...

thanks! I cant even barely stay awake let alone exercise during this time! I hate it! I am starving, I have 0 energy and I am soooo EVIL! I cant even stand myself! I am a bread lover too so I think I will try that next time I need something...that sounds YUMMY!!!!

I started at 216 in March and I am now 199!!!! 17 pounds down. I too have made it down past that 200 mark! I dont know about you but I jumped up and down and squeeled like a pig I was so excited to see the 1 and not the 2!

one more thing i try to do is eat dinner then go for my walk. I dont eat after my walk either. After dinner I am done for the day. Boy do I savor every ounce of my dinner!

I am in the same boat as you. I also have about 70 pounds to lose. I have been trying for years. When I found this site last month, it helped me soooo much. I have lost 17 pounds already and I have done it by changing my habits and counting my calories. I love pizza too and I still have it when I want it. I just eat 1 slice instead of the three I really want. I love chocolate so i bought weight watchers chocolates and hostess 100 calorie packs. But you know what? Once you start watching the pounds go down, you dont even want to have the bad stuff anymore (atleast I dont) cuz I want to keep losing. What I love about this site is it helps you keep track of everything so you can still eat the things you want. This how I eat on an average day...morning commute 12oz french vanilla cappacino. I used to have like 5 a day cuz I love them but i allow myself to have 1 now. It is 180 calories. Then later in the morning I have a lite & fit smoothie. 60 cals. I eat a healthy salad for lunch, usually just lettuce, tomato and cucumber BUT I buy light done right 3 chz ranch cuz I LOVE CHZ! but it is better for you and it tastes like i have cheese on my salad. Dinner I will eat some kind of meat and veggies. I avoid the potatoes as much as possible but sometimes I will have a little bit. throughout the day I might have some fruit or some chocolate rice cakes (YUMMY believe it or not). Then 4 or 5 times a week I walk for an hour. That is it. The pounds are falling off along with my clothes! You have to really set your mind to it and believe me once you get used to it it isnt so bad. Make a profile find out what your calorie intake should be and start logging everything in! Good luck and if you have any questions ask away we are at a pretty similiar spot right now!

Thanks everyone! Reading your comments really makes me feel good inside! I am determined to do this and I am really proud of myself that this is lasting this long. I used to be one of those dieters for two days and then say screw it! BUT I have changed my mindset. If I can do it then so can anyone I swear! I have been putting this off for 14 years!!!
