Original Post by christieoc2897:

I'm also a "new" mom my youngest is 12 weeks and I also have a 2 and 4 year old. I gained about 50lbs with my first and then about 20 with my two girls. I lost 30 lbs last spring and then found out I was pregnant. I'm now back up to 250. It's discouraging I really feel crappy and have lost a lot of my confidence. For the month of May I'm just trying to lose 6lbs but having a slow start. I'm trying to keep my calories 1200 or under and walk with the kids 5 days a week at least 2 miles. I will keep you posted on how it's going! Good luck :0)

At 250 pounds you should be eating close to or more than 2000 calories, not 1200 calories and definitely not less (starvation mode.) Plus exercise? Please eat more.

Weight Loss Why am I gaining so much weight? May 06 2013

Your BMR is 2217, you should not eat less than this or your body cannot function properly! Factoring in your activity level- (I don't know what you do for work or how active you actually are so I can't properly estimate this) moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) would put you at around 3436 to maintain and if you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 times/week) you would be around 3824. So just subtract 500-800 from these numbers and you will see weight loss.

You're just not eating enough to fuel your body, so your body is starving. Hope this helps!

This morning I cooked up some plain oats (in water) and then mashed 1/2 a banana into it and topped it with frozen blueberries, natural peanut butter and pure maple syrup. SO good.

It was kind of a variation of the oatmeal pancake that I make:

- 1/4 cup oats
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 mashed banana
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
- stevia (optional)
- 1 tbsp milk of choice or water
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon

I cook it in coconut oil and I add frozen blueberries once it's in the pan and then I top it with peanut/almond butter and pure maple syrup. Seriously try this!

I agree with the above posters, so many chemicals and additives that can do damage to your body over time. Also, when I used to eat them in the past, I would tend to binge more often.

yes it will. but you are going to be taking in a ton of chemicals and artificial sweeteners and such.  try getting used to adding a squeeze of lemon or lime to your water instead. it is much healthier for you that way.

^ This. I like to add cucumber or fresh berries to my water, so good!

Hi! I'd like to join aswell. I'm 21 years old, female, 200lbs and between 5'8 and 5'9. I started my weight loss journey 4 or 5 years ago when I was going into grade 11. I was 260 pounds and I got down to 180. Then, my first boyfriend came along and then the second and it made me yo-yo diet for a couple years and now I'm at 200lbs. I have all the motivation to do it, I've struggled with BED, but I figured out I was struggling with that because I stopped working out and thought that I could lose the weight without exercising. I just purchased a new membership at a 24/7 gym (NO EXCUSES!) on April 3 and I have gone every day of the week but Sundays. I am super motivated to be not only skinnier but fit.

I'm also in college for food and nutrition management and I will be attending a natural holistic college after.
