The Lounge Tattoos... May 19 2013

When you're 80? I'd be more concerned with regretting it the next day.

There's a lot of ugly tattoos out there, and like fashion, tattoos have their "cool" phases. Remember when lower back tattoos used to be cool? Now they just make you look trashy.

Chineses symbols, tribal designs, and your name in big stupid letters will never fail to make you look like an idiot.

This baffles me. My co-worker has his name in letters about 1.5" high on his forearm. I asked him why and he just shrugged.

I'm reading Pride and Prejudice, which I'm almost done with. I also started To Kill a Mockingbird for school. They are both beautiful.

I just listened to Mockingbird on CD narrated by Sissy Spacek. It was very good.

The audio book I'm listening to now of "Catch 22" is soooooo good. The narration is better than any I've heard yet.

I was a little disappointed by the ending. I do think it deserves a place at the top of the list of top 10 novels of the 20th century.

I'd really give it more of a 4.75

I've decided to stop obsessing on burning the maximum calories possible at each workout. This morning I didn't have a structured workout planed.  It went something like this:

25 mins. Arc Trainer

Front Plank Pulls, 2 sets 20 reps  each.

Side Plank Rows, 2 sets 20 reps each.

Turkish Get Ups, 2 sets, 5 reps each side.

15 Minutes alternating each exercise:

Sets 1, 5 Rounds

Bodyweight Step Ups 20 reps. each leg

Swiss Balls Presses 30 reps.

Set 2 5 Rounds

Elevated lunges 10 each leg

Plank Rows 20 reps. each side

Finished up with 1 hour Gentle Yoga.

It's where I went to find out where the party was and who the bad girls were. Despite never taking my studies very seriously I was typically an honor student. The administration really didn't appreciate my genius.

The last time I weighed myself was March 27. I was at a 500 calorie deficit everyday for a month and didn't lose a pound.

Now I just aim for a 300-500 calorie deficit, keep a check on what belt loop I'm on,check the mirror now and then and try not to worry about it:)

Congrats Bierorama!

I fully intended to take a week off from strength training. Didn't workout that way:(

Back squats with a barbell for the first time since I hurt my back in January. I'll pay for that, I can feel it already.

Bench presses

Deadlifts

Pulldowns.

A bunch of "mirror muscle" stuff

finished off with 60 minutes of boot camp.

Nor would I categorize what people were originally going for as brow beating. It is however how I would categorize what it became. But it really doesn't matter as you point out the point is moot.

I'd disagree with that as well. It escalated, but I would argue that the escalation wasn't one sided. Fair to express the belief that it was much ado about nothing, and it probably was, to some degree, but the fundamental point of the thread - the message of empowerment - is an important one, and worth the 'ado', in my opinion.

Mute though it is. ;P

MOOT, MOOT, MOOT!

It's moot.

Of course you disagree, otherwise how could it possibly be considered brow beating?

If we agreed then I'd have accused myself of brow beating,

not that I'm above that sort of behavior mind you

I just can't abide it.

You see what I mean don't you?

If you have ever watched a loved one die of cancer, I believe a little brow beating is warranted.

1. Namate Rosie. It was meant to inject a little humor into the thread. You're to busy rushing to judgment to notice that though.

2. You have no idea who I watched die of what.

3. I think maybe the last entry on this page will further prove what an insensitive a$$hat I am.

4. In case you didn't catch it the first time Namaste.

How dare you.

i'm inclined to think it started as a knee-jerk celebrities are stupid reaction and evolved into an i can't back down now stance.

figured i'd dig this up, since it's looking righter all the time.

I think this is probably pretty accurate. I just don't see anything to be gained by harping on the same thing over and over.

Cakey, I personally think that whether breasts are essential or not is a matter of opinion and I can understand if someone thinks breasts are essential.

Isn't that why insurance covers reconstruction? And why we all think it should be covered?

I agree with you about what the common use of the word usually means, in North America. It was just apparent to me that rain_bows wasn't using it in an emotionally laden way. (I think spirit seeker is just a run-through bomb dropper) Which prompted me to question how else the word might be used, and to find that there are other ways it is used.

Honestly, to me, this thread, much ado about nothing.

The topic is a good topic. Very worthy. Good to discuss - all that. The discussion did go awry because of misunderstanding (imho)

This is very accurate.

It actually looks as if RB is getting brow beaten for making some remarks that most others disagreed with.

Kev - I'm sorry about Tiki.  :(

Thanks Sparky. It still brings a tear to my eyes.

It was almost 40 years ago. About 2 years ago my mother admitted to having spent 5 sleepless nights crying over his loss.

I bet a nice boyfriend would be really good for her.  :)

I actually thought about getting one, but I think it would have to be a puppy, for her to feel secure.

I think it's her submissiveness I'd like to cure. She wiggles with new humans, submissive pees on the floor when one of the boys shows up, and on the leash gets really submissive near other dogs. In the yard, she's a territorial barking machine at anyone that walks by.

I guess my primary concern is that simply taking her to the local dog park is going to end up in a dog fight.

I was afraid of this too except my dog usually started the fight.  Any squabbles I saw at the dog park were quickly taken care of.  I never have seen a dog actually hurt.  I was terrified the first time I went but now we both enjoy it a lot.

When I was 12 we had a small dog with an aggression problem. Tiki constantly started fights. He was nearly killed by a Dalmatian one winter. The next Spring I heard him yelping in the back yard and ended up chasing a dog throwing rocks at him until he finally dropped my dog from his mouth and ran off.

Tiki died from his wounds.

He was my favorite dog ever.

Four days of discussion over Angelina Jolie's chest.  Pure awesome.

To be fair, the vast majority of it was in-fighting.

Which makes it different from any other thread in no way at all.....Wink

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
