About
| Bio | I'm a 23 year-old female living in Michigan. I recently graduated from college, and with this new wealth of time on my hands, have begun working out and eating right to try and lose weight. I've always been slightly overweight, but have always known that I could lose the weight if I really tried. I started in October 2006 at 165 lbs, and am hoping to get down to about 125 by the end of the summer. I think it's a pretty reasonable goal. I've been educating myself about diet, exercise, and nutrition over the past couple of months, and think I have a pretty good approach to successfully lose my weight. I got a BA in International Studies (Japan, specifically) and hope to eventually move into the field of international business. I enjoy reading and watching movies (I'm addicted to buying DVD's) and taking pictures--although I am not a real photographer :) I've lost weight in the past, but this is the first time I've made a really conscious effort to be healthier through exercise and diet. Since October, I feel a lot better about myself because I know that I'm making good changes and I've been able to keep them up. I'm lucky in that my mom has been my gym partner for the past months, and we make sure that we keep up with our exercise (it's hard to do it when you have to go at 5:30 in the morning!!!). I love that I'm eating more fruits and vegetables, choosing whole grains over sourdough and white breads, and drinking water instead of pop or juice. These are trends that I really want to keep up for the rest of my life, and I believe that by starting now--when I'm still young--that it will be even easier to live healthfully for a long time. I love reading the encouragement and advice through the community posts, and look forward to using it more and more :) Links: Dieting & Metabolism Calorie-Count.com Diet Body Type & Fat Loss 3 Moves to Whittle Your Waist (Prevention.com) Deal With Love Handles Firmly (Prevention.com) Firm a Flabby Belly (Prevention.com) 20 Minute Ab Workout (Prevention.com) 8 Secrets of the Naturally Slim (Prevention.com) Shoulder Shaping Exercises (Prevention.com) ![]() ![]() The exercise ticker is just for the second half of February. |
