roadtorecovery1 remember that eating out is normal and NOTHING to feel guilty about! You should feel proud of yourself! I cant remember when i last ate out. Everything you ate looks scrummy. Please dont worry what 'normal' people eat. What is normal anyway? Your trying to gain so please dont compare and just eat! |

I started this survey BUT decided not to do it for a few reasons. WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THIS??? 'is recovery worth it?' Is recovery worth it??? SERIOUSLY??? YES IT IT! How can you even ask this?? I am actually so mad now that i can hardly think! Is it worth being healthy, happy, functioning etc etc etc. seriously, that is what you are asking! |

My psychologist said that he didnt think i could do recovery without IP treatment... HA who showed him? I DID! I got up to a healthy BMI and i did it all by myself. Never Ever give up on yourself. You are ALL amazing people who deserve to be healthy and happy. Now, lets go eat cake! :D |

Hi, Well, i guess you already know the answer to how to stop losing weight.... EAT! I went from 850 cals right up to 2000 in one jump BUT i am at a higher BMI so that may not be best for you. Try eating 200 more each day until you get to 2500. Your metabolism isnt 'screwed'. Yes ATM is slow, really slow, BUT if you eat 2500 EVERY DAY it will recover! Read this daily!! HERE I swear it helps! Print it out and take it everywhere! Then when you feel like restricting read it! When you first start to gain most/ all you gain is water weight. DONT PANIC! this is 100% normal and a sign repair is starting to happen.

taylor9403 - The ice cream oysters are wafer like oyster shells and in the middle is marshmallow goo. One 1/2 of the oyster is dipped into chocolate and then coconut. No ice cream involved TBH! A bit like this LINK but with marshmallow not ice cream :) (So i guess they should be marshmallow oyster shells) baybeehannahx - I was so excited when i saw them! They were close to the floor in the sweet isle (just in case you live near a sainburys) thebiggerpicture - JEALOUS!! I WANT TO GROW TOO! i have size 8 feet and i'm only 5ft 5! I'm hoping that its not too late to grow (i'm 22) as i dont want to look like a clown any more! spiritriser - I am so so so happy for you!! That is awesome to hear! ALL of your eats look amazing today. Normal and amazing! You really are beating this ED! Yay!! I had a mini (cough.... ok a big) hissy fit today. I have bought 2 packets of these quorn escalopes and put them in the freezer (in MY draw) My sister had already eaten one pack which i could ignore as i had another pack.... Yeah well last night she ate the other pack too! I had been looking forwards to them ALL DAY! I seriously flipped, threw things, cried, shouted etc. MAJOR over reaction i know BUT i am sick of her eating the food I bought for ME to try! I had even bought her 4 packs of other quorn so she wouldnt eat my food!!! Anyway this development meant packing more into snacks after tea :( B - Porridge (2 packs) (270), Juice (250) S - Boots meal deal (100) (after hair cut!! WOOP) L Soup + bread (300), jelly and custard pudding (130) S - Pop corn (200) T - Veggies + quorn fillet an cream cheese (350) S - Yogurt (200), biscuits (orange and chocolate) (200) Yogurt covered raisains, dried apricots and dried blue berries (500) Total 2500 Up in weight too this week. Not sure how much as i guess some is water weight. Not sure if to up the cals or not. ED is saying i can gain on 2500 so why bother? If i up it and i dont need to i will just balloon (again the ED taking) Advice? |

Recovery is like little bunny hops in the snow Yeah, we all have a bad day once in a while but we must not let that stop us. We will pick ourselves up and carry on :) I saw this on a mug an it made me smile from ear to ear - Eat cake and move on (from wittards in anyone wants it Also this one (which many of us may already know) Feel the fear and do it anyway Keep strong people <3 |

Oh hun. *HUGE HUG* Ok, so the day didnt start quite how you planned BUT thats not the end of the world! You still have the rest of the day!! You can still do it! FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY! Next time the ED says no, do eat that i want you to eat it. Next time it says only one cup of milk i want you to drink two. georgieuk - Thank you for the letting me moan ;) Any time you need a moan i'm your girl! lol. annaattackk - Thank you for the birthday wishes. We are all awesome :) I like that you dont eat proper meals too - and i like that you seem to eat quite often. I feel like i eat all the time and to see that this is 100% normal has made my morning :) thatone1 - Again Thank you for the BDay wishes :) My smoothies tend to be shop bought - ATM i have innocent smoothies (they have free fridge magnets and i want the whole collection! Lol) I also buy smaller bottles when out - for example at work where i LOVE the banana one! (i like banana drinks just not bananas... odd!) - currently i am drinking Pineapple, Banana & Coconut smoothie by innocent :) Maybe i should make my own - but then again i'm way too lazy! ;) oedipamaas - your lunch looks great! So scrummy!! I LOVE hummus!! I went driving yesterday in my parents HUGE car. I learnt to drive in a fiat 500 (which is really small) and my parents have a rover 600 (which is like a 'normal' sized car but has a big bonnet and boot) and i almost had a nervous breakdown..... It was so stressful i started crying and my dad had to take over (even though he shouldnt as the Drs not yet said he can drive again after his Op.) It didnt help i had to go to the petrol station first.... Ugh. I want my own car (hint hint - Anyone want to give me one as a birthday prezzi? lol) B - Cookie crisp, yogurt, coconut flakes (500) S - Hershey kisses cookie and cream (I found these in sainsburys!!!!!! OMG!)(200) Strawberries (100) L - soup - carrot and coriander + bread (300) S - pop corn (200) Ice cream oysters (160) T - innocent sweet chilli veg pot + veggies (350) S - Yogurt (200) Orange and pecan biscuits (200) yogurt covered raisains + dried blueberries (290) Total 2500 :) |

chrissy1988 - Your right, and deep down i know it. I do think about every thing WAYYY too much. Even things unrelated to food (even my driving test examiner said that! He said i should stop second guessing everything! I blame the psychologist in me) And your right. Food is just food - i'm going to try to relax and just enjoy it. houseelf - Your just like me! I seriously also eat until i go to bed. This is something i have done since i was 14 and first gaining. I will really try to just go with the flow today. Eat when hungry and not worry.

Thank you. <3 Seriously. Thank you for letting me moan :) This is the third time i have been going through recovery and everything seems different. I feel like Alice in wonderland or something. I am SO much better informed about EVERYTHING (seriously - NO ONE EVER told me that the weight redistributes before, i'm eating chocolate again, i'm (generally) happy) I honestly feel this time could be the last time. And its all due to people like you. <3 houseelf - I'm know what you mean about eating 2500 and not allowing yourself too go over. I also know how stuoid that is, i'm going to gain either way so why not just eat?! chrissy1988 - I once read that recovery is like little bunny hops in the snow. I will try to remember that - try to remember that i wont just balloon! I will try to embrace the hunger although i fear that i am eating out of boredom. How do you know the difference?

Again, Welcome.
I may as well throw this out there... I found that i didnt really know enough about the ED when i was restricting. Yes i knew the obvious (cals, damage etc) BUT i there was so much i didnt know and it is only through this site i have been so much better informed regarding EDs. Here are a few posts which have helped me so much. I hope they can help you too Helping me with starvation mode ( so down ) Further hedgren is AMAZING. Seriously when you need motivation just read something (anything) she has said! She knows her stuff!

Can i ask what your BMI is. Is it REALLY high enough or just high enough for the ED? I'm sure i dont really need to say this BUT you need to let your body decide your ideal weight. |

baybeehannahx - No i dont make my soup and it i will eat any make! I love it that much! lol georgieuk - Love the sound of the pasta bake! Looks scrummy!! tarzaneugine - Welcome! I love the sound of your breakfast! Super jealous of the muffin! Roadtorecovery - Welcome! Lots of scrummy eats i see! I find the more you challenge yourself the easier it comes over time. The ED gets weaker and you get stronger so keep fighting! thatone1 - Smoothies are a great way of getting cals in. There are so many good flavours too. Which flavour do you like most? oedipamaas - almonds and chocolate covered raisins?! YUM! i love yoghurt covered items so i bet these are scrummy to! Yesterday was ny birthday but it was a huge disappointment. My brother STILL hasnt wished my happy birthday/ given card/ present. My sister 'lost' my present, my dad forgot - he didnt wish me happy birthday until 6pm!! (he is on medication which he blames) my aunt forgot, another aunt gave me a card - she normally gives money too but not this year which i was kinda disappointed by as i'm saving for a car! - Most of my friends forgot too.... This all made eating harder as i became depressed and the ED was shouting how unloved i am - which part of my knows is untrue but its jut hard..... Anyway. My eats yesterday were as follows - B - Rice krispies, yogurt, cookie crisp (400) S - Rice Kirsipies bar (120) Smoothie (230) L - Carrot and coriander soup + bread (400) Jelly custard pudding (130) S - Yougurt covered raisains and peanuts (400) T - Potato Gnosh, veggies, creme fresh (500) S - Yougurt (200) Biscuits (150) (lemon curd jammy dodgers today) Total - 2530 |

I would suggest you keep counting cals as that way you know your hitting your target. Then when at a safe weight/ healthy weight you could move to exchanges (eg swapping a starch for a starch) or to intuitive eating. |
