Sadly, not even joking.

Is he related to Colonial Angus?

i've never had a relationship that's lasted five years. howevah...

i am recently married to a man who i've known less than a year. :P he doesn't really do any of the things you mentioned, but i know for a fact that he does love me unconditionally. oh, and he has been known to get me silly little gifts, just because he saw it and thought of me (like a real version of the slinky dog from toy story!).

we make each other better people. i'd never been in a relationship that wasn't about one-upping and jealousy before i met him. he's kind of my hero and i look up to him. at the same time, i know that i inspire and motivate him (and set his alarm).

and the awesome thing is that he and i are such basket-cases and weirdos that we'll still be needing each other decades from now. no one else gets us. we make for perfect bff...with benefits.

OP, this could be the first time you and i have ever been in total agreement.

Kotov, I know you're a dog person...but how could you possibly harm this? :p

it's the eyes. the eyes just get on my nerves. and i've never left a situation with a cat where i wasn't thinking, "a*****e."

i think you just caught your cat during a rare cute moment. it's still plotting your demise, though, mark my words.

one of my best friend's boyfriend is also TG (f-to-m). he's got issues with how small he is (he's about 5'4 and weighs about 105 lbs.), so i can relate, OP.

in the same way that you can't know what your friend is experiencing as a TG, it's also true that she doesn't exactly know what a cis-female experiences. it's highly likley that she's going to be more influenced by media portrayals of women than, say, a cis-woman who's had to go through losing 30 pounds would be. she might think that a 6' woman should weight 125 lbs just because she knows it's too small for a man and cosmo said it was okay, y'know?

i'd wait and see how she progresses. if her expectations get more realistic and healthy as she realizes all the work involved, great. if not, it might be time to do the concerned friend thing and talk to her about the potential damage she'd do to her body.

if you ignore that the first part of my original statement kind of takes the wind out the sails of your perceived insinuation.

I didn't ignore any of your OP. Was I supposed to?

Re bolded: This really doesn't make any sense. I may have "insinuated" so there was no perception on  my behalf. If you "perceived an insinuation" from my post that's something entirely different.

i did. as you said, "it's the internet." it's difficult to do more than "perceive" something unless the other person comes right out and says it.

aw, poor guy. :(

one time, i bit into an apple and...well, there was no worm, but there was plenty of his...leavings. i was about nine, so i threw the apple and ran around screaming until i vomited.

very bitter, in case anyone was wondering. not at all what you'd expect.

i don't get it. i mean, maybe if i had a reason other than sympathy and compassion that caused me to contribute, i'd be more selective about where my donations go, but...come on. a guilt-trip because i choke up at those little african kids with the flies on them just as much as for the people freezing to death under bridges in the u.s.?

what do you think?

I don't think your sympathy or compassion know whether it's going to foreign or domestic assistance.

Of course the fact that you're not selective about where your donations go speaks volumes to your motivation for giving.

when i say i'm not selective, i mean that i give to causes i feel are worthy, regardless of where they're located.

That's a very important distinction.

Charity begins at home! :)

Agreed. Home is Earth. Sorry Mars, no donations coming from me!

Humans are humans no matter where they're located on this planet.

I also wanted to say, that there are some amazing people in this thread, and you guys really restore my faith in humanity (which is always on the negative side). You guys make it a lot brighter. :)

haha, awesome.
