1. cream of wheat or malt o meal?? cream of wheat, but i much prefer oatmeal, it has a nuttier flavor and is thicker. 2. favorite flavor/variety of instant oatmeal? plain, but if i had to pick i once had a cinnamon-raisin one from kashi that was pretty good 3. favorite meal of the day? breakfasttt 4. go to breakfast when in a pinch? skim milk in a travel cup, a piece of fruit, and a baggie of dry cereal or a skim milk, banana and almond butter smoothie 5. go to lunch when in a pinch? in a pinch for me i guess would mean that i didn't pack my lunch, so I'd probably buy a salad with cucs, tomatoes and spinach at school, dress it in balsamic vinegar, and eat with a low fat string cheese or an egg, and piece of fresh fruit 6. go to dinner when in a pinch? egg whites w/ salsa, frozen veggies, toast w/ smart balance 7. favorite cooking show? Top Chef, if that counts 8. the meal that you cook the best [as in your deluxe dish]? i dunno.. i'm good with non-healthy baked goods. I think my healthy cooking only tastes good to me haha. 9. favorite flavor muffin? bran is yummy, either apple bran or raisin bran 10. favorite waffle/pancake/crepe topping? peanut butter and banana 11. favorite flavor cream cheesE? cream cheese and i are not friends, but if i had to choose, i guess low-fat plain, maybe at one point it was this cinnamon-raisin-walnut concotion, but i'm deff over that 12. favorite variety of bagel? love the grainy kind, whole wheat or multigrain 13. favorite make at home substitute for restaurant/fast food meal? scrambled egg whites with one whole egg, a white potato rubbed in olive oil and baked in fry shapes, a chocolate 'milk shake' made of a cup of skim milk, fat free chocolate frozen yogurt (1/2 cup) and a sugar free jello pudding cup, with whole wheat toast w/ smart balance. WHEWW is it filling, and still pretty caloric, but its honestly less than the one at my local diner would be, and MUCH healthier. 14. favorite way to eat your bread? [as toast, sandwich, french toast, plain, dipped in olive oil, peanut butter and jelly, etc.] hmm, i guess as toast w/ smart balance 15. favorite pita/wrap stuffing? sunflower seed butter 16. favorite thing to do with your english muffins...lol? eat them hahaa..... put an egg and slice of low fat cheese on them. 17. favorite movie theater treat? small soy mocha latte 18. soft pretzels vs. churros? deff soft pretzels. wetzel's pretzels is LOVE. 19. favorite soft pretzel dip/topping/flavor? plain all the way babyy. 20. favorite salad dressing? salad dressing slightly repulses me, I guess light italian? 21. Go to food when calories for the day are out but you're still hungry or just want to eat? if i'm still hungry, glass of skim milk, if i just want to eat i wish i could say cut up veggies or dry kashi heart to heart but i'd probs just end up binging :( 22. food that you love and have yet to find a good substitute for? no idea, probably lots of things 23. oddest food that you eat? my friend thinks its weird that i eat wraps with just sunflower seed butter in them... 24. lowest calorie food that you eat for protein? egg whites 25. lowest calorie food that you eat for fat? olive oil i guess. you're not really gonna get low calories if your eating for healthy fat grams. 26. lowest calorie food that you eat for carbs? puffed wheat, but i only ate it ONCE. i guess other than that like, ezekial bread? |

I have pretty high cholestorel (sp?) and my nutritionist gave me omega 3 fish oil and told me to take a 1.5 tsps a day. I'm not sure if it's been lowered yet, haven't been back to check, but my nutritionist said its been very effective to a lot of her patients! The other thing is, yes, you could do a vegan diet but be INCREDIBLY careful about consuming hydrogenated/partially hyrdrogenated oil which can be found in a lot of processed products that are vegan (some peanut butters, crackers, breads, etc) because it increases LDL (bad cholestorel) and decreases HDL (good cholestorel.) Good luck! |

BREAKFAST: quite a bit of raisin bran w/ skim milk and more golden raisins (ugh there is so much sugar in raisin bran, not all of it healthy AT ALL, and my general rule is no more the 5 or 6 grams, but raisin bran was the only cereal I had that had a good amount of iron, and I really need more of that according to my doc) LUNCH: two slices of health bread w/ lean ham and soy cheese, carrots and red pepper strips, a large Fuji Apple SNACK: tall soy mocha, a packet of oreos (again with the sugar, but suprisingly not so high in saturated fat, which I also have to watch, cuz I also have high cholesterol! Woo!) DINNER: Wendy's (with friends, I was starving and they really wanted to go there) side salad w/o dressing, mandarin orange cup, plain baked potato SNACK: 1.5 tsps of omega fish oil (nutritionist told me to take that and that amount) and a glass of skim milk, and a vegan chocolate cookie from whole foods so yes, alot of sugar. But I did get lots of iron and not so much saturated fat, so I call it a win! It was around 2000, which is my burn w/o exercise, so it was still tech a weight loss day, and it was yummy! Besides its one day, and I made healthy choices when I didn't have to. I'm proud of me :) Sorry for the epic post lol. |
