Original Post by annamarie1393: Definite taste difference without the tahini. Tahini is roasted sesame seeds and the oil content can be replaced by olive or any other oil but you will miss the roasted sesame taste. I always use the tahini....just my opinion.

Two reasons for me; First I'm a numbers kind of guy and being able to put numbers to my goal is easiest for me, even at the gym I chart the weights and reps for the equipment I use (I'm not as anal as that sounds) Second, I was a member of calorie count in it's early years before it was purchased by About.com and it was the best solution for my needs. You go with what works for you. Larry |

This was just on TV this morning, a show called cooking at home with Dan Eaton (credit where due). Thought I'd try it with subbing oven baking for pan frying. Saw your post so I thought I'd add this. Larry
Recipe: Cajun Cornmeal Crusted Tilapia with Pineapple Salsa SERVES: INGREDIENTS:
PROCEDURE: Cut the two tilapia fillets in half lengthwise, so you have 4 pieces total, and then whisk 1 large egg with 1 cup of buttermilk and then pour that over the top of the fish (in a pie dish) to get those soaking. Carefully pat them dry on paper towels (if you want to, it's not necessary) and serve them with some of the pineapple salsa over the top. HINTS: You could substitute regular milk, if you don't have the buttermilk. Two tsp of the Cajun spice rub doesn't make the mix all that spicy so feel free to add more. This recipe can be doubled but you probably won't need to double the amount of cornmeal mix or even the buttermilk mixture but you will need to make more salsa for more tilapia fillets. |

We are here...were just a lot quieter. I'm 53 want to loose 69 lbs, down nine now. Took up bicycling this past summer, first time in many years. Kind of stuck indoors now, not much of a winter person here in upstate NY. Bought a treadmill and joined a gym to get me through the cold weather. Hope to use treadmill for more than drying clothes after snowblowing. Larry |

Absolutely...just bring the food without asking. No matter what the reaction, it will be enjoyed and appreciated. And you will know it in your heart. Possibly over-thinking this but do you think he has a functioning refrigerator? If not how about a cheap disposable Styrofoam cooler of ice and food? |

Have to agree with the tapping around the edges with a butter knife. Was just thinking about this the other day after I used this method...I remember watching my mother do this and always thought why hit it? just open it, but now I understand... it works!! |

One of my favorites...toasted rye bread, spread on a thick layer of cottage cheese and add some fresh ground black pepper. |
