| I took mega green Tea w/ hoodia when i started my diet last june. I stopped around september or so. I dunno if it was my mind or not, i did lose weight while taking it but I'm still maintaining and losing ever since then so i don't really have an answer. | |||

if u wanna lose weight all around, try doing a 500 cal deficit 5 days a week either by burning it off at the gym or eating less. Take 1-2 days off and up ur cals to ur maintenance, i've even eaten more on those days. This tricks ur metabolism and u end up losing weight. I've lost 25 lbs doin this. If u want more info, check up the cheater's diet. It really helps beating diet ruts. It's a simpler version of zig zagging. You still eat less the majority of the time but up it considerably on ur 2 days off. Consider it. :) |

it could very well be muscle but just out of curiousity, do u watch your cals? Working out is all about calories in and calories out. Exercise and Diet are both key in losing weight unless u exercise excessively or ur an athlete. Also, if ur exercising off too many cals..that can sometimes lead to weight gain. |

| lmao screw that! My close friend who is very thin, she's actually like 8 years older than me..more of a mentor. She's never told me i could never be thin but she has told me before that i am big boned, i think when i used to be chubbier she just said it to make me feel better even though it didn't. Case in point, i've lost 20-25 lbs since then and everyone has told me how skinny i am including ppl who only met me recently so they aren't jus sayin i'm skinny because they knew i was dieting. People who have jus met me who didn't know how much i weighed before have told me i have a slim frame. So ya, no such thing as big boned. I do have broad shoulders but they are only more accentuated and awesome lookin now that i've lost. So SCREW EM, i promise u ..they are all wrong. | |||

Hey guys! I just want to let you all know. I was in all of your places last June of '07. I'm about 5'5-5'6 and wieighed in at about 145. My goal weight was 125 when I started calorie count since then I'm down to 119! I reached my goal weight of 125 by nov. 14, my bday! It took, all together, about 6 months for me to lose the weight. hang in there guys! My tips would b: dropping calorie filled drinks ( drink lots of water and if u need something with taste go for diet stuff but drink those sparingly), diet only 5 days of the week and take 1-2 days off for enjoyment. I did this and you wouldn't believe how much it helped me stick w/ my plan and generally speaking, you lose weight from takin a day off. Be creative with your diets and if you are on the go a lot, start looking up nutritional information for the places u frequent the most for lower calorie options. Good luck guys! |

| Also, and this is more the fact with younger skinny girls either in their teens or in their 20s, they can eat whatever they want and never gain. However, since ppl like me who are in the 20s age range who do gain from eating whatever can watch our cals at an early age and realize what we're puttin in our mouths everyday. One of my best friends was always skinnier than me, she is also about 5'8..i'm only 5'6. She eats whatever she wants although I see that she eats very slow and sometimes doesn't finish all her food yet nonetheless she eats junk. I never noticed how much so until i started calorie count. Sometimes it was soo hard to go out with her cus she'd have a fast food craving like every hr!! lol It's funny though, after 6 months of watchin what i eat, I weigh less than her now and even she notices it. Frankly, as she gets older ..she is the one gaining. I feel like a lot of the skinny girls don't realize until they get older and its much harder to control ur cal intake once u get married and have kids. Starting at a young age i'm sure makes things easier. I'm really lucky to have been a lil chubby 145 and realize what i was doin to myself so now that i'm at 122 i can stay that way. :) | |||

I duno about u guys but i'm in college, i'm not using it as an excuse but it is very hard to not drink on the weekends, its kind of a social thing. Along with this site and some of the advice from the cheater's diet and other nutritionists that i've watched on tv and read about, i had decided a long time ago that on weekends i would not diet. Now weekend for me would be Friday and Saturday. Sunday i'd get back on the wagon. In short, in June i was 145 and now Im down to 122. I approached the 120s around november. So essentially it was about 5 months or so that it took. I barely exercised. Tried whenever i could. What helped me the most was water, 1200-1300 cals on weekdays and basically whatever on the weekends. I tried not to eat after drinkin cus then it would just become wayy too many cals but even when i did, it never seemed to matter. It kicked my metabolism actually and i ended up losing the next day. I say those 2 days keep me sane. I do get drunk on fridays and saturdays and enjoy myself. All my friends see me losing weight and they know i don't starve myself, although i do get a lil crazy about calorie counting lol on weekends i promised myself never to think about it! And I don't. Even if i cheat a bit on weekdays, that's not drinkin but through jus eatin a lil more. I still always give myself a break on the weekends. If u don't give urself a break, a diet even a more straightforward calorie counting diet is very hard to stick to!! U must live life man, carpe diem! I hope u guys take my advice! Some drink advice: I usually stick to wine, light beers, rum and diets, whiskey sodas, crystal light on the go mixed w/ vodka .. When i take shots i don't care, generally i never have the really sweet creamy shots anyways. Although i drink i do mostly always stick to some light drinks like the ones i listed because even when u do decide to binge drink. The calories are like tripled if u have mixed drinks that aren't diet so its not worth it. Hope i helped! |

| there is also a whitish sauce in it too, the red sauce is thin and the white sauce is a little bit thicker but it's not completely drenched in the stuff either. I wish i could give u an estimate in grams but i have no idea how to eye that stuff. I would assume it to be 600 as well, that's what i guessed. If i do have it one day ,I usually eat something very light for dinner or save half of it for later just in case my estimate is off, thanks for the help! | |||

what a crazy coincidence!! Ya, I hit 130 once this week, i weigh myself in the mornings. It moves up and down like crazy, it goes from like 130 to 136 at any time during the week. This used to happen to me when I was in the 140s but once I hit the 130s, I never got back up to the 140s so i just really wanna see the 120s atleast in the next 2 weeks sometime. we should keep in touch twin!! |

Ahh the perfect post for me to reply to. I have some good advice for u. Here's a few suggestions. One, look up the Cheater's diet. It has done wonders for me. I haven't been following it lately because I've been so busy with school that right now i've been mainly focusing on maintaining but as soon as next week i plan to jump back on this plan. Basically, what it is, is calorie counting still but a very lax way of doing so. On weekdays and u can choose what days as long as it's 5 days,( I usually do sunday through thursday of regular calories counting: Friday and saturdays are my cheat days) u should have whatever ur weight loss cals are. Mine is around 1245 calories. On weekends if u want to drink these are ur cheat days. U actually end up losing because u've boosted ur metabolism and tricked ur body. However, i do want to emphasize to never go overboard with eating or drinking. I usually aim for my maintenance cals or a little higher on the weekends. Mine is about 1840 maintenance cals. It is more than enough as long as ur not chowing down on chipotle burrittos and drinking White Russians!! LOL. I know you may have doubts about this advice but please look up the diet. It has worked miracles for me. I've gone from 148 to 135 now. Everyone has noticed the weight loss. My goal weight is 125 and my height is 5'5. Try it for a week and see what u think. Also, if ur not interested in that idea, i say ur best bet is to suck it up and log in every calorie from ur drinking and eat less on those days. I'm warning u, do not starve urself, u are probably old enough and aware of the consequences of binge drinking on an empty stomach. In the end, u can still enjoy college life with ur friends. There's no doubt, make ur drinks with diet mixers or club soda as well. Again, it's not only the cheater's diet, many doctors have emphasized that u should have one or 2 days off from any type of diet or weight loss effort. The best part about this kind of program is that it is a lifestyle change. It is so easy to do for the rest of ur life! :) Hope i helped! |

| jus for everyone's information..Mayo is not evil. LOL, granted it doesn't help..I usually get the light mayo with the chicken breast or the veggie and i don't put cheese. I find that it adds a little taste otherwise i'd find the sandwhich bland. However, I always tell them for only a little light mayo and then add regular mustard. I don't think mayo is terrible as long as u get light and use it sparingly. I am aware light mayo is still about 40-45 cals but i always ask for only a little and with the veggie it still is a very healthy meal. U don't have to completely bore ur sandwhich down. | |||

| first of all, wow i'm jealous ur around 130!! I just hit 139 today and I'm only 5'5. My goal weight is 125. Anyways first of all I want to say that I started on this site about a month ago and have lost about 8-9 lbs. I was originally 148. Let me just tell u, how do u look, is it that u don't like the way u look or that u just want to go down on the scale? Becuase Honestly, 5'7 and 130 is healthy, not just healthy but something u shouldn't have a huge problem with. Unless u want to maintain. U see I'm 5'5 and the highest we can be is 145 and still be average BMI. Does that make u reconsider so much weight loss for ur height at all? LOL, I'm assuming not. Well, I'm not one to preach but one more thing, my best friend is about ur height 5'7-5'8..she weighs about 135. She has a flat stomach and everyone calls her skinny constantly. I think ur weight is probably fine. Maybe, u don't like ur body? If that's the case, tone it. U really don't need to lose. As far as ur binge question, atleast all of it was healthy stuff such as, salads etc. However, I wouldn't binge on fiber one all day. That might end up with not so good results. Anyways, I've never had huge binges just small cheats here n' there. I say there's no point in fretting about it now, restart ur diet again the next day. It shouldn't make a difference at all. If anything u might lose. The only way u could possibly gain is if u consumed 3500 cals in one day, which is REALLY hard. Even if u think u binged a lot..u probably didn't. No matter if u binge or not, always log in ur cals to see ur improvements or ur not so good days. It helps motivate u. When u see that u've consumed like over 2000 cals then u know that u did some cheating but u can easily overcome it by the end of the week. No problem. Good luck! | |||

| i'm typing this as i smoke!! lol i dunno about u guys but I smoke more now that I'm dieting. Maybe it's psychological..I think i just have an oral fixation problem with food and cigarettes. I'm an insomiac but I usually reach my calories by around 10 which means the rest of the night when i'm studying or watchin tv..I chug lots of water and smoke cigarettes. I've managed to sleep earlier than I used to so that I don't eat or smoke as much. I know it's not good, atleast the cigarette portion of it, but I really can't help it. Even my bf noticed!! He always smoked more than me..he used to have a 1-2 pack a day habit and now he noticed me smoking a lot more than I usually do and he was like Wow, ur turning into me. LOL, that scared the CRAP out of me!! haha, I always used to be a moderate smoker and my parents don't even know I smoke so when I was home I could actually go without them or every once in awhile I would go outside of the house and have 1 or 2. Now, I don't know what I'm going to do when I go home! Overall, my cigarette intake has actually increased since I started dieting but then again I don't exercise much. I'm purchasing equipment in August for my apartment, I'll let u guys know if exercise helps me cut down but so far my habit has only gotten worse! | |||

| i don't really have a sweet tooth and i don't snack that much cuz i'm a big meal person but i know a lot of ppl who snack eat sweet stuff or chips stuff like that..If i were u go to the ice cream section look for light popsicles or ice creams..popsicles help cuz sometimes ppl just need the oral fixation when they're bored. Also, someone mentioned water..that always helps me.. keep a bottle with u all the time and jus keep sipping even when ur not that thirsty..Eventually u'll feel too full to snack..i have these popsicles that are only 30 cals..I'm sure u can find them at any walmart..that's where i got them..hope I helped! | |||
