Hey hettyanne, looks to me like all you need is some weight lifting in your routine. You already look fantastic, so all you really need is a bit of muscle tone and you'll look perfect.

And you definately don't need photoshop or a fake tan. Lighting can make all the difference in the world. Black & White photos also help to hide blemishes.

Good work & good luck!

Fitness Starting from Scratch after 3-month "break" Aug 27 2008

I recently took about a month off from the gym. I had hit my goal weight as well & when I came back from vacation, I decided to take a break for a while. I only gained about 5 pounds during that month, but I saw a big difference in the way I looked compared to my vacation pics (see profile). But now I'm back on the wagon. Been to the gym the last three days & running about 1.5 miles. The first day back was rough, I felt weak as hell, but today (day 4) I'm feeling really good & I can already see a difference so I seem to be tightening back up pretty quickly, which gives me a lot of motivation to push hard.

So I guess there is some truth to that muscle memory theory.Laughing

"It works if you work it." I tell myself this every day when I'm in the gym.

Hey Pudpie! I'm still hangin' in there with ya. 31 days today. I thought about treating myself to something sweet today but I still fear that I will go overboard so I am hesitating even though my 30 days is up. 4 inches off your hips? That's awesome! Congrats!

Pudpie-it felt really good to get it out of the house, you wouldn't believe how much cabinet space I have now:)

22 days now. Today I'm taking all the junk/desserts in my cabinets to work with me & giving it away. I figure since I'm no longer craving it, why keep it in the house? Fruit is satisfying my sweet tooth just fine. I never thought I would say this, but I just don't want it anymore. I'm not saying I'm giving up sweets permanently, but I'll probably just limit them to special/social occasions. I've also increased my protein, broken out of my plateau, and lost 3.5lbs since starting this challenge, so I'm feeling pretty damn good! Keep it up guys!

Day 14 Baby! Half way there. I still can't believe I've made it this far with no sweets. Must be the competitor in me...I hate admitting defeat. That and the fact that I'm planning to do a fitness photo shoot when me & the hubby go down to the Keys in June so dropping the sugar is definately helping to shed those last few pounds.

Whew, I actually survived a full week with no desserts! When I decided to do this challenge, I figured I'd last a few days at most but now I've got me some momentum. If I can do it for a week, I can do it for a month, right? I have to say, I feel really, really good too. I have tons of energy, I've increased my weight at the gym, added a couple more minutes to my run time, etc. All that sugar I used to eat was obviously giving me the insulin spike/crash. Or maybe it's all in my head; either way, I'm stickin with this for three more weeks...maybe more. Keep up the great work everyone!!!

Well, I've made it 4 days now and I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself. I think this is the longest I've ever gone without sweets. Last night was a little tough, I had to stop at the store on the way home from work to get some fruit or else I probably would have caved and ate a protein or nutrigrain bar, or worse. TOM is fast approaching though so we'll see how my willpower holds up.

I actually started my own personal challenge to give up sweets on Monday. I've been stuck at the same weight for a month now and I know sweets are the reason why. I quit Mountain Dew (4-5 a day)  cold turkey last year and I haven't touched it since so I know I can make it a month without desserts. I'm with ya! Good luck to everyone!
