I'm 18... 132lbs and 5'8. I eat above 2,400 calories on any day.... even my sedentary. (sometimes 3,000) I try to be as active as possible whenever I can. currently I have had a week off as I have just started 'bakers school' this week and just wanted to adapt to the new schedule.... but i've still been eating all I want. That being said, I follow a low protein, low fat and high carbohydrate eating pattern ( I hate the term 'diet') ... I eat mostly fruit... sometimes i'll just have 8 banana's for dinner.. that kinda stuff.... plus 2 litres of water everyday.... (i do eat bread, rice and cooked vegie meals too... and maybe once every two weeks i'll have eggs... milk... but i never usually want it cause all i want is fruit! haha... can't get enough!) My typical workout 3- 4 times a week is 2-30 minutes on the highest level on the elipitcal plus 30 -40 minutes of INTENSE weight training (I don't use the little weights cause they do nothing for you!.. unless you're a beginner.. but still you should be able to change the weight every 2 -3 weeks if your work hard). ontop of that i'll do a 60 minute run with my friend and cycling to shops here and there... and now cause i'm doing baking i'll be on my feet 8 hours extra so... gonna have to eat alot more! but in genereal.... eat more carbohydrates (less protein and fat).... you'll want to move more (due to increased energy).... you'll therefore burn more.... SLEEP ALOT (I average 8 - 10 hours... 12 if lucky) and eat as much fruit as you want! =D (visit www.30bananasaday.com for more info) |

i felt like looking through this thread today, and i'm glad I did because lowri both themanic doll and dutchamericangirl were just giving honest opinions because they are concerned about your health and weight. dutchamerican did not say she found your photo repulsive she said 'your picture looks dreadfully thin'... you got upset because she had the courage to point out something you are so obviously aware of but are too afraid to properly acknowledge as you feel as though you cannot escape it... truth is you don't have a naturally protuding collarbone... look at your past photos... there up there.. i saw them.. you were much more beautiful and healthy looking at a healthy weight... (not saying you aren't now... but you have to admit it... you had a certain 'glow' at your previous weight) and themanicdolls comment was completley honest... no one should feel the need to do 400 situps.... if your so concerned about this 'buddah belly' you should know that its not going to magically go away from doing sit ups... no... it takes time, years for your stomach to sort its self out after a massive weight loss... doing 400 situps is complusive.... on that note, i do ammend you for not feeling the need to do 2,000.... but honey, you are in denial... you do not lok normal (no true offence).. because normal people look (and sound) healthy... you are convinced you have improved body image but if you still make comments about your buddah belly, protouding collar bone, breast size and are so defensive of yourself... maybe you need to double check on your process and really listen to your feelings. This is just an opinion... but so many people on this thread seem to either take offence or trigger others with 'ed' like behaviours (restricting, purging, exercise overload.. or guilt from not exercising) ... maybe you all should reavaluate how you post on this thread and keep it to only food and encouragement... remember the posting guidelines 'This is a space that should encourage healthy eating and give others ideas.' |

In77 has the best point... by the time you have lined up you could have made your own.. and saved alot more money in the process. All you need to do is dedicate one day a week to buy a loaf of good quality bread, and make sandwiches filled with fillings such as hard cheese and peanutbutter. these can be indivudally wrapped, FROZEN and taken out each day as you need them.. the bread won't go soggy as long as you don't freeze them with wet ingredients such as salad.... but you can easily pack some veggie sticks, dried fruit and nuts, fresh fruit, yoghurt ect.... with you. its not that difficult and is much healthier for you! and in my opinion, as someone who worked at subway (and never ate the food even though it was free)... the food is disgusting. full of sugar, salt and added ingredients.... seriously the condoments have over 50 ingredients each! and don't get me started on the chicken... its not even chicken! it has a killer ingredient list and does it not scare you that each piece is shaped the same? oh and congrats on the job! working at disney sounds awesome!!!! |

^^ more like why do they work out for more than three hours a day.. unless their training for something or eat massive amounts of calories (like 4,000 +) it seems like overkill.... and could actually be damaging to the body and not healthy for it .... just because the activities strenghten bones, reduce blood pressure ect. they can actually do alot of damage aswell if the body is overworked ... just my opinion anywhoo.... |

| Recipes | could you modify this recipe ? | Oct 07 2011 09:39 (UTC) |

first of all, i know this is a healthy recipe but using garbanzo flour is only going to give you dense little buggers... and cupcakes are meant to be fluffy! when you make cakes you want a flour with a low protein content to make fluffy, soft cakes... and bean flour is high in protein... and will make them chewy and ..... yeah.... what i would first do, is of course keep it gluten free (which i pressume is why those flours are used) but use a mix of other gluten free flours that are lower in protein.... to make it a banana bread.... just swap the apple sauce with mashed banana.... probably could even substitue either half the coconut oil or hot water for more mashed banana..... if you do choose to use garbanzo flour, soak the flour in the hot water over night with a tbsp lemon juice, yoghurt or whey.... this will help to soften the flour and make the nutrients more easily digestible..... (this is a trick i use with all my grains like spelt, barley, quinoa..... it also saves cooking time.... though not for cupcakes.. only grains!) |

adding onto grains.... you could also make oil from the grains (rice bran oil for example) and have calorie free oil too so ..... mmm.... lots of calorie free doughnuts =) |

I would go beyond flour and say grains... that way i could eat calorie free flour, oatmeal.. pizza =P ... and if corn is considered a grain then corn = corn syrup = calorie free sugar too.... = calorie free pancakes... minus the calories from blueberries =P but i'd only want it to be calorie free as long as all the nutrients stayed in tact =) |

good for you =) you have such a wonderful attitude now! I myself just realised the same thing... the last few months i had been eating 1,500 calories... slowly gaining and always feeling bloated... last week i decided 'what the heck'... never know until you try and started to eat 2,000 calories... in that one week of eating more i am less bloated, can see my ab work (finally!), have more energy and lost weight (not that i wanted to...) so now im going to eat 2,300 calories... and if i don't maintain on that then.... more please! =) and oh... snap! if only we had both realised this earlier... what were we doing >.<

try eating more...... i know it sounds ridiculous.... but trust me the last couple of months i had been undereating and not losing any weight... not that i need to, but i just wasn't eating what i should have been..... so i was always bloated because my body was trying to conserve food / retain water .... the last week i have been eating 2,000 calories + (even foods that are supposed to make you bloat such as sugar, cream and cakes) and my stomach has shrunk! i can actually see all my ab work efforts now because my stomach isn't retaining water..... and i also lost weight.... so now im starting to eat 2,300 + a day ... your a teenage too like me, so you may be undereating.... really just try it for a while, with your past (not to sound creepy but i looked at your page) you are probably bloating because your not eating enough and exercising too much.... and yoghurt does help, but because i think you should try eating more... buy full fat =) ... and also if you have trouble eating more because of 'voices' saying you'll bloat more / gain weight.... please trust me.... it took me 6 months to work this out and i can't believe i could've been eating what i liked for that whole time! just give it a go! |

i usually get pain in the right side of my arm. it doesn't last too long. i think it may be because of a buildup of gas / oxygen pockets in my body though. i know it sounds weird and doesn't make sense... and really its hard to explain... but the reason i think that is because las year, i went in for surgery... and when i was awake i would receive shoulder pains in my right side due to there being gas in my body that was pumped in for the surgery.... but.. if not that (because i don't even know if its medically possible) i'd go with the sports bra =) |

okay... so today i woke up and told myself enough is enough... i have a big race tomorrow (12km) and i knew that if i didn't eat enough now than i will completley die from exhaustion tomorrow... so i decided today i would eat without counting calories... yeah... at one time i binged on pointless things ... but when i started doing that i told myself to stop and just enjoy my food.... not force myself to eat more because i feel i should.... anywhoo, im hoping i can continue on like this for a week... not binging, just eating without controlling the calories i eat.... im actually not as stressed as i think.. i think its because im hoping to 'burn' it all tomorrow in the race... i know that won't happen... i know i have exceed 3,000 calories.... but i really don't want to care... this one day is not going to make me fat... just stronger.... i will avoid the scales .... hopefully my metabolism gets a boost after all this and i can say goobye to calories and be happy for myself.... not get freaked out from wanting to eat more than i will allow my self to and yeah.... =) |

jenny... thanks! you're too kind =) ... haha your story made me smile... i mean i know it creeps you out but i can relate... some people are just... odd! tom.. yeah sorry it is confusing! no i don't need to gain weight, i've just lost weight stupidly by restricting calories and now i am too afraid to eat more, despite the fact that i know i need them... especially if i want to build more lean muscle... i just have trouble with wanting to eat more due to the fear i'll gain weight around my stomach =/ as i said... im extremely insecure! your very helpful, but you just don't know how hard it is to tell people... particularly when they don't understand... and haven't been able to for over 4 years! don't worry.. i'll boost my confidence eventually... maybe when school finishes in 2 weeks i'll have the time to truly focus on myself and what i want... thats what im hoping for at least.... right now, there is just so much pressure that i don't want to slip further into any more bad habits... i will get there, promise! =) |

choocchoox.. your not chubby! healthy! (oh, how the mind can play tricks... we can say it about others but not ourselves!.. ridiculous!) sorry to hear your in a similar situation..... =( sure i know what do to.. its just that stupid voice that tells me i don't have to! thanks! i'll try to believe! jenny.... yeah i do the same thing! when my sister makes her breakfast fry up im like but thats all the nenergy i eat in one meal!!!! yeah, i think thats a reason why i don't want to discuss it because i study nutriton at school, not my parents or friends and so i know the facts and i just don't want them pushing their opinions on me because i know i'll get frustrated and yell at them >.< kayla... i think my mum suspects it... she hugged me the other day and held onto my waist.. kinda creeped me out... the thing is my mum is not helpful! no one in my family is! i just don't feel good about myself because no one ever tells me i look pretty (im so vain!). my sister scrutinizes what i wear and i just feel so insecure around her because of that because i feel i have to get her 'approval' before i can be seen in public..... |

sorry jess.... breadtop is just one of those amazing things you'll never know the calories of!!!! go taro buns... and custard filled buns... and those weird charcoal ones.... aaww yummy!!! ... their ice cream has the calorie content on the pacakging though.... 200 calories for one tub! so worth it =) again.... taro is my favourite flavour! if you want though just search recipes for chinese custard buns or something... you'll find heaps of them.... then put in the recipe analyser and it should give you a close idea of the calories in one of their buns.... id guess anywhere between 200 - 600 depending on the flavour / filling ...but yeah! enjoy breadtop! don't let calories get in the way!!! |

| Health & Support | Gallbladder being removed, strict diet afterwards, can anyone relate? | Aug 15 2011 08:00 (UTC) |

i got my gallbladder removed last year (at 16 years old) and i find i can't eat many fatty foods without my stomach being in pain... so i avoid those foods (not that i like greasy stuff anywhoo)... and i also find that i get much more bloated (and gassy) then i used to.... but i guess everyone experiences removal differently.. and the attacks i had with my gallstones where very painful so i pressume that i was more affected by my gallbladder than other patients... i also found that in the first few months after surgery my bladder was insane and i needed to go to the toilet every 2 hours.... yeah.... but good luck! >.< |

... so umm... why don't you all stop dreaming about food and actually enjoy it? these menus don't have to be something you want... you can have them! the more you think about what you're ed won't let you have... and the more you say 'i'm gonna come back and post what i want to eat'.... the more controlled your eating disorder is... and 'imagine that you are ed free'.... erm... why not try to be ed free? stop drooling over the idea of food and just eat food already! =) |

I think I might have even had an eating disorder (not anorexia because even at my lowest weight I wasn't skinny enough.) ... you're making excuses. not to be harsh, but you need to hear it from someone: YOU DO HAVE AN EATING DISORDER AND YOU KNOW IT! ... why do you assume you have to be skinny to have an eating disorder? what do you think all people who are anorexic look stick thin? its a ridiculous misconseption... someone can look like their at a healthy weight but can still be anorexic.... i know i was, or at least i felt i was. when you have an eating disorder you always feel fat - however, you have to trust the people around you when they say you look unhealthy.... and now to answer you're question... you're period might come tomorrow... might come in 5 years time... each individuals bodies are different and you have to support that body you have. i gained 15kg (around 30 pounds) in my recovery and 4 years later im still waiting for my period... my blood scans all came out normal, i get checked on a regular basis.... and im just waiting til my body settles itself out.. it takes time for different people.... and just like you i worry about children.... but unlike you i admitted i have an eating disorder and asked for help.... until you learn to do that you may not have the hope that i still have for your period.... please ask for help! this site cannot offer you the support you need. |
