agruskin, yeah i understand you. i just miss how everyone in the other thread just communicates with eachother and tells people how their day went and a turning point for them or something that gave them hope during the day. like no one communicates on this one its just post your meal, no encouragment from people or comments, you know what i mean? lol i think im doing good at the moment. i weigh in tomorrow... lets see what my first week of maintanance has in store for me.... eep!!! haha loving the burger for breakfast by the way ;)

i feel like i kinda dont fit in as much on this thread cause i have so many whacky ideas and opinions!! i cant just write a meal i need to comment and be detailed!!! its who i am!

B: oatmeal (oats, mixed dried fruits, chia seeds, walnuts) topped with honey flavoured greek yoghurt and a biscotti

S: apple (lol i peel the skins and keep on peeling til i get to the core.... its weird but actually tastes like eating fruit leather), pretzels and celery dipped in peanutbutter

L: toastie: 2 slices of wholemeal bread with avocado, brie cheese, turkey, fresh stawberries and balsamic... mmm best toastie ever!!! aside roasted vegies and feta....

S: green frappé (soy milk, frozen banana, dates, ice, spinach)

oatsnmeals, no you have it wrong. kath is not gaining weight. she never had an ed... sorry if you misunderstood me, i just follow her blog because i like the blogs where people vary their food and go out.... its so tempting and mindblowing to see all the cool foods in the world and the people who are adventerous.

i wanted to start a blog at some point but then after having half an hour of creating it im just like.... cant be bothered taking photos all the time and then uploading them... too much effort! lol. but i think its cool how people who (no offence) have lives can still take time out from all their events to sit down and blog about their experiences. thats whats inspiring for me i suppose.

what draws me to blogs is the title of the name lol. then once ive scanned through the images or glanced at the title and a few words. you get the main idea of whether or not the blog will be 'decent' so to say. i dont bother for the ones with so much writing... i really only like blogs for the huge pictures and recipies.... i read more of the ones about real life, not real life ed struggles.

i enjoy kath eats, she never had an ed but what she does is super cool to read over. her blog is perfect, not too much writing but enough and plenty of pictures.

this isn't a recoverey blog either but i suggest everyone checks it out cause its awesome. youll have t go through every page though to see how awesome the food is!!! pretty pretty yum yum has awesome pictures!!! note this blog features weird flavour of kit kats such as sweet potato, red plum, diet coke, mango, ginger ale and more..... its so cool!!!

i agree most do irritate me, especially when you see the portions of food they allow them selves to have, it makes it even distorted for people trying to recover cause their ed assumes thats a normal size.

i hate the ones where people are always so negative about their family, friends and themselves. those thoughts should only be allowed to be spoken in a therapy room, no offence to anyone who writes blogs. blogs should be about sharing inspiration and the good times in life. not every thought should be posted only the ones which make a huge positive difference to the persons recoverey direction. though sometimes hearing their struggles and how they handled it is good, as long as its well done. i really dont think blogs should be about getting support or to tell how the persons negativity has been for the day, they should just be there to share their life journey, not the entire emotional rollercoaster within.

i enjoy reading burp and slurp's blog on wordpress.... just because the girl, Sophia who writes the blog has come so far and she makes the weirdest foods sometimes. she inspired me to be more out there and adventerous when it comes to my food choices.

she gets a lot of hits daily and is well into recovery.

hey guys!!!! just thought i'd pop in and say H E L L O ! everyone is doing a great job at keeping their calories high and meal plans delicious

healthy musician, haha ham has that effect on me too! i take it out of the package and i instantly crave it! dont worry i had a history of binging, and trust me you wont go back to it. if you just eat what your body craves and nourish it everything will be fine. and dont worry about the future cause it hasn't come yet. focus on gaining and then if you do get old back habits its easy to get new ones, just like you broke over the habit of eating literally no food to make ed happy. look where you are now! new habits, good ones are forming all over. your starting pilates, relaxing more, everything is becoming better. stay focused and dont let the future or past be a burden on your now!

flashinglights, are those banana bars the leda bars? i actually can't stand the taste... they're soo dry. good job on the muffin! the salond sounds splendid ;)

my_body, mine and agruskins response toawrds people eating so little is because we both have suffered from ed and have gone through an enormous amount to train our selves to nurture or body with sufficent calorie amounts and to incorporate as much nutrients and 'normal' food into our diets to supply us with the right energy to grow and develop and keep strong, as well as fit in a social and work life around that. i guess i cant understand why people on a calorie count forum would eat so little unless they wanted to intentially damage their health int the long run. im not being harsh, thats just my perspective.

and i have a 5 hour job, school (holidays currently) and a social life but i can fit it all in. and im sure if you complained that you cant find time to fit food in to your day to anyone gaining weight im sure you would get a lot of responses from that! (please i dont want to start an argument i just really found that a bit off!)

B: green tea and vanilla frappé (matcha powder, soy milk, vanilla powder, ice) and a bowl of apple and cranberry granola with almonds, soy milk, 1/2 frozen banana and blueberries

S: wholemeal pita pocket toasted with avocado, tomato, garlic, parmasen, basil and salt and pepper

L: Whacky Asian Salad: green tea soba noodles, crushed pretzels, carrot, lettuce, cucumber dressing from (peanutbutter, garlic, soy sauce, gochuang paste)

S: apple

D: wholemeal baguette with roast chicken, carrot, lettuce, cucumber, sweet chilli sauce, fresh chillis, corrinader

S: vanilla ice-cream topped with toasted oats, coconut, cherries, an apricot, stawberries and drowned in maple syrup and cinnamon

brooke, definitley add some nuts or something next time... theym make everything crunchy!!! though i aint a fan of cottage cheese that pudding sounds awesome!

oh wow i just made an awesome lunch and it was made from such a random mix of ingredients.

salad with grated carrot, shredded lettuce and cucumber, corriander (cilantro) and added a handful of cooked green tea soba noodles, shredded nori (sea weed) and a handful of crushed pretzels.

then made a sauce from peanutbutter, gochang (korean red pepper paste.. love this) soy sauce and garlic and thinned it out with some hot water

haha it was carbs on carbs with the noodles and pretzels but i loved it.... the pretzels made it awesomely crunchy!!! i shall create this again....

Weight Gain Just not as Hungry anymore... Dec 14 2009

thanks for all the different opinions everyone. its really gotten me thinking.

i agree that me not being soo consumed with what im going to eat next is a good thing. I do vision food as fuel which i why i still continue a meal plan with six meals and include carbs, proteins and fats within each.

though i guess the fact that laura pointed out might be a sign that i still have a bit of a desire for food. though i wasnt the only one with a hungry stomach then, my sister was quite ravenous and was saying she was hungry, though wouldnt anyone be from not eating since 10 and waiting at least 5 hours til the next meal in which the five hours all they did was walking? my family was actually quite shocked when i didnt finish my dinner, they're alway so used to me finishing the plate and even theirs some time. the only time i passed on food in weight gain was when i got sick every month (turns out i have gallstones).

its just so much harder to trust your appettite after weight gain as you dont know if whether its you or ed, though with my stomach and with what it feels at the moment i can trust myself as to how i want to eat.

thankyou all for the support, later i may come up with other conclusions as to why im feeling this way but for now i feel much better, knowing that it may jjust be a phase. afterall there are those days when all you want is food so maybe at this moment im having one of those days where all you want is nothing.

Weight Gain Just not as Hungry anymore... Dec 14 2009

the thing is i dont restrict my cravings or meals and im well sure im getting over 2,000. ever since inve annouced ive gained my family act like me getting food in doesnt matter anymore though. yesterday we left home at 11 and didnt get home for lunch til 3, (i cant act selfish though as we were visiting my grandpa in hospital and shopping for my sister whose leaving to live in Uluru in 2 weeks).

but i just cant be bothered eating now, i dont have the energy to want to think about food. i have energy for every thing else, just not thinking about how im gonna spend my meals. should i be worried that i may be slipping into old habits of only eating when i feel hungry and to when im satisfied, rather then still needing to supply my body with nutrients to grow and support my mental and phyiscal health?

Weight Gain thoughts on my eating?! Dec 13 2009

i agree that it may be a growth spurt... during ed you may have stunted your growth and now your body is trying to get to its original set point (lol i had such i weird growth spurt and now one hip is 13cm higher than the other ..... errr it was 16cm before (huuuuge!!!) but were working on it.... im not a side show freak though ;)... its not even noticeable except the fact i can't walk in a straight line well)

your not gainng weight rapidly. like you said its probably a mix of water and food as well. why not try going the way you are for now and then in a months time weigh yourself and see if you've grown any taller. its wondeful that your listening to what your body craves and maybe its just going through a period where it wants excessive amounts of food.... there are also those days where you dont want to eat nothing at all as you dont feel hungry.

i've read that eating the opposite of what you crave stops the craving so if you crave something sweet go for savoury. though i wouldnt really opt for that as i you said, i wouldnt want to deny myself body of what it wanted either.

=D
