Yep, it was a lot of work, which is the point, I guess! I had a lot of success with this program when last I did it. I was participating in a Biggest Loser contest at the time, and I lost about thirty pounds and also was able to jog 10k. I even tried to jog 13 miles by the end of the program and I could do it. Only once, but still. Good luck with Insanity. (I came in third place for that Contest, btw)

The Lounge How much is your grocery bill? Feb 01 2012

I spend as little as possible at the grocery store. Probably around $600-800 or so a month. But then, we run out of things and usually stop here and there for milk, bread, cereal, or whatever I happen to run out of during the week or forgot at the grocery. Maybe we spend another $50 a week doing that. THis is for a family of two adults, four little kids and a baby.

I used to hang out here once in awhile! Brought a gift to pass around for old times sake.

I also had to chase this guy out of my bathroom! Geez.

You might be a grinch if you just want to throw the elf on the shelf out the window because having it inside the house makes the kids so excited that they get up at five every morning just to run and see where the elf is hiding.

I don't know if this was suggested because I haven't had time to read the whole thread but....... my daughters would be very happy indeed if they had a gift certificate to build a bear. As a matter of fact, so would my sons!

You are considering telling each side of the family that there was an emergency and you have to go out of town so that you can really just stay home and do nothing at all.

I thought of another one....

Sometimes I will say, "Well, if the shoe fits....." Which means that if the situation applies to you then you should own it. If it doesn't then forget about it.

What I mean is......The shoe fits so quit being an a-hole".

Also, it isn't a saying but I do it often....the shoulder shrug with a little hmmph. As in, ok, I will kind of agree with you but really I think you are weird and a bit scary.

I really like the idea of you painting her something and then you can spend the money to get it nicely matted and framed in a pretty frame. That is a nice keepsake. And as a mom, I know I would love my kids to do something like that for me!

I think a cookbook is a great idea as well, perhpahs with a nice casserole dish, as I think somebody suggested earlier. And perhpas you could prepare one of the recipes in the new casserole dish!

Does she have a nice cover for her Ipad? Or perhaps one of those keyboards that you can get for it?

I say "Whatever" as in whatever, it doesn't matter.

What I mean is....Dude, you are wrong, I know it, the whole world knows it, but you are too idiotic to know it so go break a leg.

Congrats rachelwert, on your weight loss so far! That is wonderful.

And yes, I like your idea about having some very easily attainable goals and maybe some a bit more challenging. For me, for right now in the first few days I need to stick with the easily attainable though. I'm having lots of trouble getting started and I think looking at it from a less pressure perspective will be of great help.

Original Post by Cidem2003:

I see what you mean about your self asteem being low..."tough love"- stop having a pitty party (I do this also-it's human nature) and realize that maybe you are not lazy but just haven't found your motivation, your "aha" moment. Try to find something that moves you to make yourself better in a healthy way-maybe playing with your kids or wanting to look better than a rival! Find 2 pic of yourself, one of a smaller you and of a larger you and compare and tape them on your mirror. Next use the blogs and realize that you are not alone. I think when you make that decision that you find that YOU are in control of you...EMPOWERMENT!!!

If there was a "like" button, I'd like it! Nicely put. I think this could be applied perfectly to me. Thanks!

I do the same thing with peanut butter cups. I also eat around the edges of pop tarts first as well. I have been known to eat all the vegetables off of my plate first. Maybe to get them over with? I like to scrape out the insides of the pizza crust end and eat that before I eat the outside part.
