Thanks for sharing! I had totally forgotten about this! With my first i ended up about 5 times in the emergency department because my son's kicks where always very slight. When pregnant with my daughter....the soccer player...i didn't go once has her kicks where so obvious and should i say vicious!!!! Now with my third i am back with very slight nudges. I found out yesterday that i'm having another boy!!!! So THANK U from the bottom of my heart for reminding me to do those counts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Safina1....there is nothing wrong with being a mother at age 38 or 39.  I mentioned my age because i have already two children and i was 29 with my first pregnancy. I had done everything right like started taking prenatal vitamins 3 months before and watching my alcohol intake. With this pregnancy everything was unplanned and unexpected. I had also finally decided that i was happy with my two little angels and was looking forward in doing really fun activities with them.( i.e. going to Walt Disney in November and etc.....) Being pregnant makes me take a step backwards as i can't go on rides or go skiing with them this winter and etc.... The other reason that worried me : is that the older the woman is when giving birth the higher the chances of having a down syndrome child and etc....

By the way...i finally told my kids that i was pregnant about 3 weeks ago. My son was upset at first but within 5 minutes was loving the idea. My daughter was so excited it was frightening! She keeps on asking me "When will baby come out?"

I had to tell work right away as i work in an operating room and needed to be reassigned immediately. I told my parents and in laws at 8 weeks. I told some of my closest friends at 10 weeks.......and TODAY i finally told my son( 7) and my daughter( 5)! They were both very excited and my daughter hugged and kissed my belly! I'm 15 weeks and 6 days! Baby is due January 1st, 2010!

Pregnancy & Parenting Apparently peas are evil. Jun 24 2010

Peas are in the same family as chick peas, lentil and yes PEANUTS! They r all LEGUMES! Be careful as people think peanuts r nuts but they aren't. My son has a severe  peanut/ nut allergy. I would hold off giving her theses legumes. (No Nuts either....my son will literally die if he gets in contact with a hazelnut, walnut and pecan!) I test my son every year in a hospital with her allergist. It's been nearly 3 years with no other reaction and it seems like the peanut has gone down. Next October will be a challenge has his allergist wants him to try to eat a peanut!!!! We will see.

Please ask your doctor for a prescription for a EPI-PEN! Carry it with her diaper bag and make sure u never leave home without it! (my son carries a epi-pouch around his waist everywhere he goes! especially school!) I know it is a drag...but if your daughter has another reaction...it will be far worst than the first and the EPI-Pen will save her life!( u have 30 minutes to get to the hospital after injection of the pen...reaction may come back!) Good luck and keep us posted! Benadryl is also recommended. He carries that in his epi-pouch too! (tablets)

I haven't called my doctor yet! I've spoken to a few of my pregnant co-worker's today. They all told me that they had experience the exact same thing. One is 17 weeks and one is 22 weeks. Here in Canada.....your first doctor's appointment is at 10 weeks. It used to be 6 weeks 6 years ago. The only way to really found anything out is to go to the emergency ward. I'll let u know what happens whether the outcome is good or bad. Thanks for your replies!

Pregnancy & Parenting Bullying Feb 11 2010

My son was being bullied in Kindergarten. After numerous talks( 3 months) with the teachers and principal.....i had to go another route! I actually called the cops. A police officer was at the school the next day. He had arranged a meeting with both sets of parents and principal. The police officer started off my saying that what the boy was doing to my son was a criminal act. That if the boys were 12 he would be filing out an assault form and the boy would be arrested for criminal assault! ( my son was being slapped, kicked,  punched, emotionally and physically abused...but the worst was when this boy tried shoving his sandwhich down my son's throat! My son has a peanut/nut allergy!)  My son was crying every morning! he had nightmares! He would shake at the thought of school!

One year later....the boy and my son are friends. Not best friends but friends. My son told me tonight that he sent this boy a Valentine card because" i watch him. Mom< he doesn't hurt anybody anymore! I'm so happy!"

Thanks for your reply and concern.

My saga has come to an end.......i got a very painful and heavy period on February 06 at 05:00 am. I took Advil and that barely worked! On Sunday(my birthday 36) the cramps finally subsided. I'm still bleeding quite a bit but this i can handle with no meds! I was disappointed and sort of relieved at the same time! Need some time to get over everything. I haven't gotten my blood results today because i just didn't feel like hearing any news today. I'll call my doctor tomorrow and get them. Thanks for sharing your grandmother's story. It was exactly how i felt! I guess i'll never know. I have never miscarried before so.....who knows!!!!!!!!!

Pregnancy & Parenting How much less painful is it with an epidural? Feb 06 2010

I have had two children! I would never go natural! My pain threshold his horrible! I could never do it natural! Epidural works for me! It really depends how your body reacts to the drug. With me, i felt period like cramps when having my contractions. It helped out  a lot! Though when it was time for pushing ....the meds were put on hold!  I felt both my babies being born....i refused to tear so i asked to  have an episiotomy...felt that too! And also my 7 to eight stitches that i got after the birth! Don't get me wrong....my births were awesome! I was in labor for 12 and half hours for my first(son) and 22 and half for my daughter!

Then on the natural side: my Godmother gave birth to 3 children totally natural! I was in the room for the last child...videotaping the birth! She was in labor  for two hours and made it look like child's play! That's why it all depends on your Pain Threshold!!!

Ultrasound showed no baby. Ovaries r both fine with no cysts. Uterus is "big and puffy". Dr. did blood tests.( all hormones) What confused me though is that he's repeating my BHCG! Why would he do that if there is no baby? My symptoms haven't changed! Should get results in Monday.

Once again....opinions anyone?

Pregnancy & Parenting how to wean baby Feb 05 2010

Both my kids went from breast to sippy cup!( Breast fed babies tend not to like bottles! Their "sucking" ability should be easier but they tend to not like bottles.) They fought me for about two days....wasn't drinking much;spitting it out; dropping the cup.....and etc..... But i didn't let go. I think my girlfriend said "TOUGH LOVE" is what u have to be! It was really hard.....but by the third day....they wanted the milk and not water!!!!! It worked!

Oh and when u finally decide to stop breast feeding.....leave the house. Go see a movie and make sure you get home only after your child is in bed asleep. The next night will be a breeze! That's what worked for me!   My son was one and my daughter was 11 months old! Good luck!

My doctor hasn't sent anything except that my current birth control is NOT safe! I know this true as  i am a nurse......When i got sick after the colonocopy it was mostly viral.....cold,shivers.....etc.

The saga continues.....a third negative urine test! I'm 22 days late! Called my doctor's secretary and i demand to have an ultrasound. She's suppose to get back to me later tonight or Tomorrow at the latest!

izjohsnton-  Congrats on your current pregnancy! If u don't mind: where your urine test negative? Did u do blood test? Was that normal? My hcg blood test was slightly elevated but still considered NEGATIVE as for the weeks i'm suppose to be! If your urine test was negative: how long before did it appear in the urine? Thanks in advance!

.......if this is from stress.........wow! The thing is that i have a very stressful job(hasn't changed in the last 10 years!) and i usually deal with it very well! It has never been an issue especially since my cycles were almost always early! maybe my body is finally saying "enough"! Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Seems like nobody wants to offer any advice! The saga continues......another urine test another NEGATIVE result! My doctor wants me to wait four more days and repeat yet again another urine test. If still negative then he said he'd do "other" tests. I'm assuming an ultrasound. I'm just plain frustrated......

We had alot of break ups through the years....one month on one month off but we never let go of each other! It will be a long and windy road but if it's meant to be: it will be! I knew within two weeks of meeting him that he would be my hubby. It took him longer for he couldn't believe that i would be his first of everything!Cool
