Based on only Tom's comment, I have to agree. It doesn't matter how crazy your spouse's family is. They are still his family. He will most likely continue to love them and allow them in his life.
B's mother is a whackjob. B acknowledges she is a whackjob. He can see it. He will occasionally discuss with me how frustrated he gets with her. She is still his mother. He still calls her and she comes to see him and the grandchildren.
I don't like the woman and I don't trust her. I can't say I truly dislike her, it more of a dislike for the tricks she pulls. I do understand she is unhappy and has issues she's never worked out and will most likely never even attempt to work out. Unless she were to cross the lines completely and do something violent to B or the children, I can't exclude her from their lives.
you will be amazed ....I totally understand!!! |

How you feel is entirely up to you. You don't have to like your husband's family but expecting him not to like them or to not continue to welcome them into his house and life is a recipe for divorce.
My advice, come to terms with your feelings.
you are totally right.
(i have inboxedyou explaining why I had to delte)
we have one house.(google joint family/India)
and my only sorrow is when his family refuses to respect he is ok with it & is hunky dory with his family.
It does not effect him.
thanks! |

Eat something healthy before you go so you're not starving and forced to eat something you really don't want to. If you're at the party for awhile and get hungry again, then snack on something there that's "not so bad." One or two days of this will not kill your diet, trust me, been there.
thanks :) |

Absolutely. It's a natural feeling. One of the 7 deadly sins, Envy.
I think you'll find that most everyone gravitates naturally towards those 7 deadly sins...but they use their morality, societal norms, and pshycological strengths to keep from doing those things.
- Lust- Everyone with a normal biology has felt lustfull at some point. But the majority can stay away from becoming sex addicts or nymphomaniacs.
- Gluttony- Hello? CC? Obesity epidemic? Food addiction? Comfort food? How bout the Lays commercial "You never can eat just one"?
- Greed- Again, everyone had a tendency to "gather to them what is theirs" and the more we can get, the more we take. Humans have fortunately developed empathy to "spread the wealth", but greed is natural.
- Sloth- Laziness. Hell, that's just physics. An object at rest tends to stay at rest. How many days have you not wanted to get out of bed? Whould you honestly work if you didn't have to? Do you see people running about when they could just as easily walk?
- Wrath- Hit someone in the face, see their natural reaction. As humans we've developed control over our wrath...but just about everyone has that "button".
- Pride- Who isn't naturally inclined to be rpoud who isn't suffering from depression or low self image. It's just natural.
- Vanity- Who doesn't want to look beautiful? Stores and aisles of stores supporting the multi trillion dollar industry that is vanity. Whether it's weight loss, penis enlargement, cosmetic surgery, make-up, or hair care products.
And finally, "Envy". Someone else has what you wish you had. You envy them. Whatever it is...could be a look or a trait or something material. It's natural. I think most of the people that simply reply to the question "No" or "nope"...I think they're just in denial. Nobody wants to admit to ANY of those sins nor to the concept that we as humans are somewhat automatically programmed to feel that way. Tell someone they are lazy or greedy or vain...and they'll immediately retort, "No I'm not!" Nobody "wants" to admit their vulnerable. But the human condition is inherently vulnerable.
The truth is, none of those deadly sins in and of themselves, including envy, are necissarily "bad". Some would argue that a certain degree of each of them is necessary for survival...like fear. It's what lengths we go to with them that make them dangerous.
So ccat what or who are you jealous of specifically?
I'l tell you about mine
I love going on vacations
and my husband's work keeps him on the go( u.s/u.k) all the time.
so I'm feeling litle J of someone who just took of for an amazing vacation ..and is flaunting on fb like "wow"
Pls don't judge me ..I so hope someone understands me :(
( & this sick feeling is when I do get to go once a year ..I suck)

why would you want low fat recipes?
fat = flavor, mouth feel, satisfaction, fullness
low fat = extra sugar or salt to make up for the lack of flavor and mouth feel
when you take out fat and replace it with other things you will be hungry shortly after because your blood sugar will be on a rollercoaster of spikes and crashes, especially if the fat is replaced with extra sugar, carbs, and sodium.
FAT IS HEALTHY, AND FAT HELPS YOU LOSE FAT!!
**granted it is healthy fats eaten in moderation
ooops
I did not know that low fat= extra sugar!!!!
thanks hon!
thanks everyone :) |

Even if it is a week, two weeks, a month from the date. Most dates have a generous allowance. I use them as a guideline.
Never had food poisoning.

I tried their Chicken Pot Pie Soup recipe. Tasted quite good to me, though the potatoes werent nearly done in the 5 minutes the recipe proposed. (maybe that's how they like the potatoes maybe, i like em really cooked through). My husband on the other hand, complained that it was missing the crust and there shouldn't be any potatoes in there (then again, he didn't like the Eat Shrink and be Merry Smackaroni and Cheese because it just wasn't Kraft Dinner)
I definately will try some of their recipies again.

One of the few DVDs I actually OWN. I still can't believe they cancelled it. Bastards!
To the OP: If you like hospital and funny try Green Wing.
Very British, not a good looking series (produced on the cheap and it shows) but utterly hilarious!
(Ccat, I think you'll enjoy that clip, too)
eta: ok, I just watched this clip and I'm not sure I should really recommend this series. The humor is....erm...special :-D

Kind of a blend of forensic cop show/murder mystery with elements of comedy. Worth watching for Nathan Fillion alone, but the supporting cast is really good. (A murder mystery writer assists the cops with their investigations.) Last season's finale was amazing.
And the Jennifer Garner serial from a few years back was Alias, and was excellent, at least until its final season.
I'll make a mental note to add that to my list.
I loved Alias. Keep waiting for it to pop up on netflix, but it never has. :(
I loved Alias too
have to watch the final season though |
