But my gym trainer told me I'm not allowed to lift weights until I lose more weight :( I've lost 9kg though.

Your gym trainer needs to be spanked.

good morning.  it's supposed to be 82 degrees today.  i'd like to not be at work, please...

Spring planting fever? Put some flowers and seeds in the ground on Thursday, woke up to sleet shading to snow on Friday. The flowers seem to have survived so far, but that didn't exactly fill me with confidence about the upcoming spring ;)

Heh, you know that when I started out I began doing pushups against the wall, unweighted lunges and standing rows in a door opening, right? And my cardio was walking.

Okay, so it was walking up a mountain and then spending three days in excruciating agony from the DOMS, but still. I was pretty badly out of shape. As long as you're getting started and don't beat yourself up so badly that you scare yourself into never going the next time, you'll be going places.

*wanders in abjectly* Morning, all.

What's wrong? Still in your quarantine bubble? Received information that a gamma ray burster will sterilize the Earth of all life down to the bacterial level next week? Your makeup not being flawless this morning?

Yeah, I mean, I was one of the psycho motivated people after having gotten started and catching a new obsession/hobby, but starting out I was definitely in the other category. So I'm not down with the "Maximum Pain!" approach to training for anyone, least of all beginners.

And remember that exercising like this takes quality AND quantity of food to recover, so make sure you aren't eating too little for your new activity level! That's where counting calories is really handy, to make sure you're not just beating down your body in training but also providing it with enough building materials to come back faster, stronger and better each time ;)

I'm not one of the TBTB, but I think I work for them in some small capacity, fighting the good fight against asshattery wherever it's found ;)

I get really bad aches in my stomach, thighs, back, neck, I get really bad nausea, tiredness, don't want to eat, when I exercise or eat my nausea, aches and headaches get worse. So yeah, it's not pleasant.

Not eating enough will lead to nausea, stomach cramps (and I imagine muscle cramps), fatigue, headaches, etc.

I think you need to hit the reset button.  Eat unprocessed foods or packaged foods with only ingredients that are actual foods and not chemicals (as much as you want) and take a brisk walk everyday.  Make sure you get 8-9 hours of sleep a night.  See what symptoms are still present in 1 month and go to your doc with those.

The thing about processed foods is that they're easily digestible and hyper-palatable. If you're losing weight so fast that it constitutes an actual health risk, sticking to the hyper-palatable processed foods may actually be a good idea. You won't *know* either way until you talk to your doctor, and at this point I would just take the list of symptoms and restrictions those meddling Dunning-Kruger poster children have given you to the pediatrician so the real MD can look at everything in context. I don't know that I'd even change your current diet all that much until your doctor has had a say and take whatever tests she deems necessary while you're still eating the way that's causing your symptoms to worsen, some of the changes may be beneficial or neutral in context of your personal medical history.

And to add to that my trainer at the gym is telling me not to do weight lifting and telling me to do sit ups. And another lady at the gym agrees with my doctor that I've got toxins in my body. I'm really really confused.

You're just surrounded by people who are poster children for "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing", aren't you. You need to ditch all these people with weird-ass ideas they've gotten from crackpots and cranks, and stick to talking to a real MD from an accredited institution. Or in other words, everyone who isn't your pediatrician or a specialist *she* refers you to should just butt the hell out.

Are you advocating she leave cc?

I didn't say anything about cranky people :) Besides, she can always practice on us :-P
