CW, I don't know if this is along the lines of what you viewed and what you're asking specifically, but I was raised by my mother and two older sisters (who were all obese) and I was basically told I betrayed them all when I stopped eating excessively and lost weight.  Every time I'd say "no, thanks" to McDonald's I was told I "no longer wanted to be a part of the family."

It would make sense that they viewed food in this manner.  Heathier forms of love were abruptly removed from the equation.  I guess food doesn't leave or die.  It's usually there in abundance.

I totally do...  and I absolutely do not.  It's just an exercise in futility and expression of my frustration.

I find the elevators that deliver me to my office floor come faster than the ones that allow me to go home.

I had this one experience with my husband that was thrilling.  I can't remember the details, but we were so angry with each other... and ended up having angry sex.

I would have to say, it wasn't worth it.  It didn't feel healthy.  I don't think every sexual experience has to be romance and angels singing...  but the wrong things were being expressed in that scenario.

Aww, sweet. A new Lounge villain.

Yes, "seriously if you don't like it don't read it" don't make no damn sense.  I'm guessing she was trying to say, once determined you don't like what she has to say, stop reading her posts from that point on.  Perhaps, block her.

But I'm guessing ya'll already figured that out.

Those are known as "coregasms", and yes, it's a thing. Doesn't happen a lot from what I've read, but when it does it's most often in the Captain's chair. Other leg lifts with the same basic motion have been known to cause the same effect, but with even lower frequency than the Captain's chair. It's not usually a welcome phenomenon, if it happens again you should probably program in a different set of exercises.

Boooooooo....  !

I say, if it happens again you should make an instructional video.

This is the most fantastic thing I've read in a long time. I think an exercise bike made me a little frisky once, but that's about it.

Next time don't hide it.  Give a shout out "**** yeah...  I LOVE working out!"

That was actually very rude of me.  I just don't have the patience to argue on such a petty level.

I'll still care for you when you're old and demented.

Sooooo, I can expect you at my house next week?

Party @ meta's house :)

I have beer, wine, cheese and karaoke.   :)

I don't think he should be condemned either.  But I also think the "love" he experienced was an illusion, or at least the lesser definition of very abstract "love".

he's known his partner a year. they've barely cracked the surface. i don't think it's necessary to diminish his experience of "love" to understand that a love of one year is different from a love of decades.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

I'm not finding fault with your assessment of the OP's situation.  My comment was based on you picking at Wishy's comment "But when you fiercely love someone you don't even think of that" to which you referred to as "ludicrous" in an attempt to derail her valid point.

If you really love someone...   you're not going anywhere.

look, i understand that "you don't even think about it" is a figure of speech. but it's also the crux of the argument. the guy hasn't left. he's been condemned for something he didn't do. holding oneself above him, morally, because he expresses doubts, is ludicrous. everyone has doubts, and it takes a lot more strength to openly acknowledge those doubts than it does to say, uh oh, not me, never, no way.

This is fair.  I don't think it contradicts Wishy's statement though.

ludicrous. of course you think of it.

Back off.  You know what she meant.

no, i won't back off. because thinking about it is all the guy in the OP has done, and anybody would think about it. pretending to be above thinking about it is ludicrous. nobody is that saintly.

For a smart lady, you're kind of dumb.

I think there is a reason no one is responding to this.  It's because its a dickhole of a situation.  The dude has obviously been in a bad relationship in the past and knows what time wasted on unhappiness is like.  In my opinion the dude get's a pass.  Caring for an invalid is a huge responsibility and would dominate the rest of his life.  He already sounds bitter and that could lead to downright hate and neglagince in the future.  I think it's in the interest of both party's future if he makes a clean break and continues to find his own happiness.

I read the column this morning and thought the same thing. It is unfortunate that he is not able to cope with this. It is sad for his fiance. But I for one would not want someone to stay with me out of pity and knowingly set themselves up to be miserable for the rest of their lives.

We all want to believe we would be strong enough to handle a situation like this, but the reality is not everyone is cut out for it. I commend him for recognizing that in himself and being honest.

Well said, Bee.  Agreed.

On topic: My own feelings aside, I'm more concerned about his alleged attitude and the way he handled these situations.  Canada does late term abortions in special circumstances and although I disagree with it morally, I've never felt about them the way this makes me feel.

You are not alone.  ;)

I think you're my new girl crush, washy. We have the same taste in women!

That's a pretty diverse spectrum of women!

Sad to see not so many dark hair/dark eyes combo.  If I was a movie star Wishy wouldn't have a girl crush on me.    :(

I would. Does that count for anything?

YES!  Kiss

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
