Christmas Day changed my life. I looked around the table at my relatives and it dawned on me. I was seeing myself 20-30 years from now. I was seeing the stints in my arteries. I was seeing the diabetes I would have. I was seeing my premature death. After dinner I went home took off my clothes and really looked at my body. I don't know if any of you have been there, but when your unhealthy you tend to have a knack at bullcrappin yourself to believe that you're okay. For the past 8 years I've been ignoring my weight as it steadily climbed from 145 to 208. Yet standing in that mirror there was no more hiding from the truth. I had let myself go. So on 12/26/06 I went to the local gym and joined. I began my workout on 12/27/06. I've only been at it for about 9 weeks but I want to make this a part of my life like breathing. At this point I'm trying to take it one day at a time. I'm glad I found this website and I look forward to getting to know you all.
