Recipes Soups! Oct 27 2012

Hey all you soup lovers....

I love soup and get tickled when people see me eating it in the summer.  My thought on that-I'm indoors in an air conditioned restaurant, not sitting in the sun lol

Anyway, I have a very quick and easy Chicken tortilla recipe for those of us who don't want to spend all day cooking.

You can buy a rotisserie chicken or buy a raw one and boil it yourself.  When the chicken is done, cut the chicken off the bones.  Pour 3 cups of the broth into another pot (save the remainder and freeze it once it cools for other recipes).  If you bought a rotisserie chicken, be sure to buy chicken broth and feel free to add water to it.

I use 3 cups of broth to make it soupy and filling.

Ingredients:

Chicken, chicken broth, 1 can of corn, 1 can of stewed tomatoes, 1 can of black beans, chili powder, salt, pepper, 1 whole onion (diced), cumin.

Use the seasonings to your liking.

For an additional treat, top it with cheese, sour cream and guacamole .

Enjoy!

rflol girl it was a compliment no matter how crazy he is.

His legs are well, man legs...but the fact that he noticed yours in tights...maybe they're nicely defined and he noticed that.

Not all crazy people are perverts lol

Just learn to accept a compliment graciously.

Hi.

I have a blt...or 2 slices of bacon an egg and a sandwich round. That's about 300 calories.  Oatmeal with an egg is filling too or grits and an egg.

I try to keep my meals at 300 and 3 snacks at 100 each.  That's 1200 calories.  I have began to work out everyday, and I notice that after my evening workout, I'm not hungry.  I have to make myself eat to get to the 1200 calories.

Good luck!

Fitness RESULTS-30 Day Shred. Oct 14 2010

I just started it last night and made it through about 15 minutes.  I plan to do it Mon-Fri.  But I'm sure that I should do it for 30 days straight.

I thought that if I did it daily and go to the gym on Thurs and Fri to work on the eliptical (my favorite machine at the gym) and maybe the bicycle and weights for 15 minutes each, that would still help me out.  I get bored with the same workout everyday, so that's why I thought I'd head to the gym at least 2 days a week.  I will also do Zumba for 20 minutes every now and then.  I made a calendar for 3 months and plugged in what I plan to do as far as working out so that I can stick with it this time.

I'm also counting calories and am eating more natural stuff instead of the overly processed junk.

Any suggestions?

I will commit to 45-60 minutes of exercise for at least 5 days a week.

I will do the eliptical, stationary bike, lift weights, zumba and 30 day shred.  I plan to mix it up.

Horseradish would be good in it...the prepared kind though.  You don't want to torture his taste buds.

Weight Loss So, what's your motivation? May 17 2010

My motivation:

#1: I want to be in my vacation pics in June.  I refuse to be covered up at the beach.

#2: I'm 42, 5'2 and 179.  That's not healthy and it's all in my tummy area.  My doctor has already told me that I need to lose some weight.

#3:  I hate looking at all this stomach in the mirror...nothing sexy or attractive about it.

I've lost 6.4 lbs since 5/3, didn't lose anything last week, so I'm down about that.  But, I'm not a quitter.  Today is a new day.

I actually prepare my meals on saturday and sunday and freeze/refrigerate them...soups, stuffed chicken, beans, etc.

I did have a burger and fries yesterday, whole wheat bun and loaded it up with spinach, tomatoes, pickles and onions.  I didn't feel bad because it wasn't that many calories...I couldn't even eat it all lol

Starting over.....

Think of it as a journey, have fun getting to your goal weight.  I can't tell you how many times I've 'started over'.  This time, instead of putting to much pressure on myself, I'm taking it very slow.

My goal is to lose 40 lbs.  But I've broken it down to mini goals...6-8 lbs a week.  Since Dec. 2, I have lost 6.2 lbs.  I've had to make healthier eating choices and work out, but it's been worth it.

Starting over is not always a bad thing.

Hi,

I am the mother of a 20 year old and a 16 year old.  When they were growing up, there was nothing so important that I couldn't stop to take time to watch them or read a book.  I'm not by any means implying that about you.  I guess my point is, there are a lot of nuts out there.  I watch a lot of Dateline, MSNBC, Nancy Grace and on a daily basis, someone is waiting in the wings to do some horrific act.

Please be careful.  I wouldn't let my child play in the front yard alone until they are at least 10...depending on his/her level or maturity.

Safe neighborhood or not, if there's any such thing.

Hi,

I hear that over time calcium helps reduce that area...but of course you still have to work out and all that.  I found a great work out at fitnessmagazine.com

It claims to work the fat underneath.

Good luck!

oh my...don't deprive yourself.  That'll just make you want it more.  If you want a hershey's kiss, have one or whatever the serving size is....just remember to count it in with your daily calorie intake.  And if you need to, take the stairs or park away from buildings....to work it off.

Good luck!
