So I don't know what's wrong with my phone, but it won't let me post anything :(  I haven't been behind the actual computer for a few days and I've been itching to reply :)  I want in on the Friday reports.  Hi to everyone new.  And Kari,  I choked on the water I was drinking when I read your "Jillian" comment.  Wish I could look like a personal trainer (except pretty, lol)!

I'm excited for tomorrow, because they finished repairing the floors in the studio at the Y, so we're back to having 5 Zumba classes a week instead of 3.  Aaaand we don't have to share the extra hot, stinky, sweat-pooled floors of the community room (aka spin class room)!  I'm off tomorrow, so I get to do the am & pm Zumba's; YIPPEE!

I've been getting in great calorie burns for the day (read: today's burn meter-2680 cal), but lately I've been mucking them up with my intake.  I had a HUGE m&m sugar cookie, a Milky Way, and 2 large servings of vegetable lo mein.  The rest of the day was good.  Drank 64 oz of regular water, 20 oz of Propel water, and had 30 g of fiber.  I need to lay off of the sweets and simple carbs.  Maybe I worked out a 300 cal deficient today, but tomorrow will be a healthy 1000 burn and NO sweets!

Happy New Year, everyone!

iwill- How did it go with the challenge?  I hope you're feeling great in 2010!

msn- Ha ha!  I'm not tiny :P  I'm 5'5", so I've set my goal to be right in the middle of a healthy BMI, putting me at 143 for goal.  I'm 40 ish lbs away.

dalma- Way to go on the running!  And 6.0 is nothing to mess with!  I usually jog between 5.0 and 5.5, with a couple bursts of 6.0 every now and then.

muppet- You've consumed a lot of salt and carbs.  Drink your water, cut way down on the sodium, and get your body moving.  It's not 3 real pounds.

msn- I played percussion through all of middle school, high school, and college.  I was pretty good on the snare, but I never did learn the set.  Something I always thought would be fun.

Katy- Thankfully the sugar cookies will not be readily available in the New Year.  How was the treadmill?

ally- Happy New Year, chica!

fay- I'm really glad you're back :)

akasha- Hope everyone is tiptoe-ing and whispering.  Re-coop and get ready to tell 2010 who's boss!

muppet-  Dang!  Shop for me too!  Jelly over here ;)

dutchess- Hopefully we'll all take your message to heart (making 2010 about us).

jatencio20- Welcome!

dalma- I DO love you in your dress, no matter what you say.  You're beautiful!

ana- Thanks for pointing out the new decade!  Here's something cool I just thought of...  I'm going to be a size 10 in '10!  That's my new mantra :)

akela, dani, & ash- I'm so happy for all of your new found dedication.  You're all going to be making me so proud!  Can't wait for all your success!

msn- Yeah for patching things up and getting together with family!  Enjoy your brunch and robed fiance ;)

msn- I'm about 42 lbs. away from goal.  I've also taken a very long hiatus from counting, so I'm going at it hard (1000 cal burn) until I come to a plateau.  I don't expect to drop 2 lbs. a week, but my body needs to know that I'm friggin serious about this :)  The "Burn Meter" has me at 1880.  So if I don't exercise AT ALL and am a saint with eating, I can only eek out a 680 net burn.  Kinda stinks :P  I did an extra 12 mins on the cross trainer thing and had an extra 135 cals to work with, so I had half a California roll.  I'm actually not as hungry as I thought I'd be, so it's all good.  Looooots of extra water for me :)

iwill- You've got the power to do this.  Just stop the excuses.  I'm expecting you to get some exercise tomorrow and only put good things in your mouth.  I'll be waiting for a full report.

EDIT:  I just entered my goal weight into the "Burn Meter."  Ready for the good news?  I'll have 1660 cals on my plate daily for maintenance (and that's at SEDENTARY)  :)

EDIT:  Tried to fix formatting :s

msn- To answer your question, "What does 1400 calories look like to you?"  Here's what I've eaten today.  This is far from my typical, but it was what I was craving for lunch...

Breakfast

Honey Nut Cheerios (1 cup) 145
Blueberries (3/4 cup) 62
Milk, Fluid, 3.25% Milkfat (1/3 cup) 49
Cashews - Whole (1/8 cup) 55

Lunch

Tapioca, Pearl, Dry (1/2 cup cooked) 136
Tapioca Express Milk Tea (16 oz?) 390
Meatless Chick'n Nuggets - Kids (7 pieces) 333
Total Calories Consumed (so far) 1,169

I still have 231 cals left for the day (after entering my 1 hr of Zumba for tonight).  I think I'll have to get to the gym early or stay after Zumba and use the elliptical so that I can have a decent sized dinner.  Otherwise I'm going to feel STARVED before bed :(

Yesterday was as follows (Which is much more typical for me.)...

Breakfast

Honey Wheat Berry Bread - Oroweat (2 slices) 180
Original Boysenberry (Yoplait Yogurt) 170

Lunch

Sea Pak Tilapia Tenders (2 tenders) 280
Near East Toasted Pine Nut Couscous (1 cup prepared) 230
Peas, Green - Frozen, Cooked, Boiled, Drained, Without Salt (1/4 cup) 31
Apples - Granny Smith (1 small) 80

Dinner

Lettuce, Cos Or Romaine - Raw (2 cups) 15
Pomegranates (1/3 cup?) 30
Walnuts, English (1/8 cup) 98
Feta Cheese (1/8 cup) 50
Poppyseed and Caramelized Onion Salad Dressing (3 tbsp?) 90
Egg, White - Raw, Fresh (1 large) 16

Snacks

Propel Body Peach Mango (20 oz) 50
Bananas (1 medium) 105
Pears (1 small) 81
Total Calories Consumed 1,505

Welcome back, Ashley.

I'm pretty annoyed right now...  Even with planning an hour of exercise today (Zumba tonight), I'll only have burned 2400 cal for the day.  If I want to net a 1000 cal burn today, that leaves me with only 1400 cals for the day to consume.  I'm too hungry today to eat a mere 1400 cals!  I'm cursing at myself for waking up too late to get to the morning Zumba class this morning.  Guess I could do an hour on the treadmill or elliptical, but I really don't want to.  *Sulk*

EDIT:  Ahhh!  Only 1089 left after breakfast!  I've gotta get to the Y pronto!  I want cheese and bread today...

Nothing really to report.  I'm glad we've got some new people and some have rejoined the flock.  *waves, dani and fay*

I went to the Y for a quick cross training session and burned up 408 in 35 min.  Then I took the little boy to his karate class, came home, made oven-baked breaded tilapia, couscous, and peas for lunch.  Now I'm planning out what to eat for dinner, as I'm already at 1126 for the day, with only 580-something left to generate a 1000 net burn.  Thinking it's going to be a romaine salad with pomegranate seeds, walnuts, feta, and sweet poppy seed dressing.

Where did everyone go?  Hope you're all out, enjoying life with your friends and family.

muppet- I hope you're feeling better.  How did the shopping turn out?  It was BUSY at the mall I work at.  Crazy stuff.  I'll have to google "Belk", cuz I am clueless :P

Katy- Christmas was nice.  How was yours?  I'm hoping everyone behaved themselves at your in-laws so you could all just enjoy the holidays.

I'm hoping for another 1 lb drop on the scale tomorrow morning.  I didn't count yesterday, but I'm quite sure I was at or around maintenance.  I had an extra big burn today, just to counter anything from yesterday.  How are you all doing through this season of cookies, candies, and buffets galore?

dalma- Couldn't agree more.

muppet- Aw, thanks!  Hope you're having a great time at your parents' place.  Travel safely.

watchme- Enjoy your time off!  We'll be looking for you after the 4th :)

dalma- Free food is sooo hard for me to turn down.  It's great that you've tossed the snacks/treats after just one go round.  I'll bet you probably haven't been drinking much water lately, right?  Boost up the ounces, and you'll see that some of the gain is just water retention.

muppet- A whole friggin TABLE!?!  That blows!  Sorry the Christmas party was a bit of a let down as far as the food goes.  At least it helped with staying within your calories.  Merry Christmas to you too :)

ana- Have fun with the fam!  Thanks for the pic compliment :)  And the six pounds is going to lose that battle REAL soon!  Happy Holidays (Merry Christmas) to you too!

dalma- It's nice to think of Jay's sister.  I read something about difficult people I wanted to share with you.  Made me think... Difficult people are very important, - they teach you tolerance and acceptance. If all was going your way all the time, you would become a spoiled child, wouldn't everyone? Difficult people are just one of the ways God teaches us to expand beyond our egos and accept other perspectives on life.

akasha- Yessssss!  I'm very proud of you!  You're going to walk into 2010 under 200!  Merry Christmas :)

akela- Merry Christmas to you too :)

iwill- Enjoy your mom while she's there.  You can always up the calorie burn after she leaves.  I wish my mom were here to make me heavenly food...

Oh my gosh!  It's already after 3 pm here, and I still haven't taken a shower or changed out of the pj's!  Merry Christmas to me :)  AND ALL OF YOU!  I have no candy, cakes, cookies, treats or ANYTHING good to eat here.  I realllllly want something now!  I had a piece of left over pizza and a bread stick for breakfast, after gift opening, and a semi-healthy lunch (baked fish, rice, peas, Ghanian onion and tomato gravy, and a few pieces of fried plantain).  I want to feast on something!  Probably have to have eggs for dinner, because I did not plan ahead with the grocery shopping to well, and everything is closed today.  Maybe there's a Chinese restaurant open tonight?  Anyway, see you all around tomorrow!

Thanks for the pic comments msn and dalma.  I really appreciated hearing how much I look like my son :)  Lots of people can't get past the fact that we have different skin tone and say, "Oh, he must look just like his daddy."  But actually, his features look more like mine and his coloring is right in between mine and my husband's.  And yeah, I guess I do look like I'm 17 or 18 :P

Ok, so far, but not great.  I had some honey nut cheerios, blueberries and milk for brekkie.  Went to the Y for Zumba, but then stopped at Mickey D's for a vanilla latte.  My estimated burn for today is 2790 cal, and I've already used up 516 cal on breakfast/snack.  I've got 1274 left to work with for the day to end with a 1000 cal net burn.  Wish me happy, healthy eating, and the same for all of you!

hikoo- Is there any way to make your job less sedentary?  I used to work at a relay center for the Deaf, and we were able to adjust our stations to stand, or pace a bit.  Take a couple extra trips to the water cooler or bathroom maybe?  Eat a light lunch at your desk and use your actual lunch break to climb stairs or walk the halls (or outside, if weather permits).  Do some dancing around the house when you're getting ready in the morning.  Add some jumping jacks and/or crunches before your shower.  AND/OR USE THE WII FIT!  I never feel like I'm working out.  I'm just playing, competing with myself to get top scores, unlock games, etc.

shapie- It makes me smile to know that you have an appreciate BF.  I wish you oodles of time to get done what you need to and have plenty left over to take a loooong, well deserved nap.  Doesn't it always seem like we get the most compliments when we're feeling the worst?  Makes me motivated to make more improvements :)  I give you permission to have 2 cookies MAX!  You're going to burn a bunch with 7 hours on your feet, so don't feel guilty :)

akasha- Hope things get to slow down soon so you can enjoy the holidays.  Don't knock maintaining.  That's a hard feat over the holidays!  Thanks for cheering me on, too :)

katy- Yeah for yoga and walking!  Sounds like you've got today in the bag :)  Nice, healthy choices you've got planned out.  Keep it up!  Merry Christmas to you too!

dalma- I read about Brittney Murphy from someone's status update on FB.  That's a really young age to die.  Shocking.

msn- We're on the same cycle.  Wave your pads in the air if you just don't care!

Long naps and bowls of soup to all of you who aren't feeling better.  Hope it passes quickly.  After sharing my success with you all, my head swelled a little...  I didn't log any food stuff for the last 2 days Embarassed  I'm bringin it tomorrow!  I'll be at the Y for Zumba for an hour in the AM aaaaand a 2nd dose in the PM.  Plus there's a chance that I'll cover for a chick at work tomorrow for a couple of hours.  I'm going to eat healthy and log every bite Innocent

shapie- I dig your pics on FB :)  Looks like you had a blast in the snow.  I'm a bit jealous.  Hopefully I'll get to see my family in MI before the snow melts there, but it will most definitely be not be until 2010.  As far as my 1,388 burn goes, I just entered 480 mins of "standing-miscellaneous" and that's what it gave me.  You have to keep in mind that even if I was sitting on the couch for 8 hrs, I'd still be burning some existence cals, but standing burns a lot more than sitting :)  I work a 5 hr close on the Eve of the Eve, and an 8 hr opening on Christmas Eve.  I requested today off, because I'm taking my son on a Polar Express train ride this evening :)  I hope you get to to see Jason and his fam asap.  Too funny about your dream!  I want the famous muppet to visit me too!

ana- Cute new pic!  I don't remember ever seeing your newest progress pic, but it's amazing!  Since May of '08, you've done remarkable!

EDIT:  Just weighed myself.  Drum roll please...  Down 3.2 lbs this week!

Looking forward to a 1 lb loss tomorrow!  Crossing my fingers that the math is going to equate that on the scale in the am.

ana- Don't knock the 3 good days you've had :)  Sounds like you've got a good plan for tomorrow.  I know this is not going to turn into a tailspin for you.  You've got it figured out.

dalma- Your dinner sounds delish!  I want some mashed potatoes now :)

msn- I'd eat your dinner too, but would need to swap the beef for boca.

iwill- Did you end up playing around (outdoors and indoors) with the boy?  If you haven't, you need to get on that!  LOL!  20 inches in a day is a load, no matter where it's being dumped.  And yeah, the pizza was on a plate that was balancing on my leg as I was typing.  I still haven't had a piece of that mother f'er.  Don't get me wrong, I think sweating shows you've put in effort, but sometime I think I ought to bring 2 shirts to the gym.  When I leave, it's drenched through AND the hand towel is wet too!  The shirt and my sports bra probably weigh a good  pound when I take them off.  On the treadmill, sweat trickles off my elbows and covers the front of the machine.  TMI, I know :P

Not really looking forward to my 8 hr shift (last weekend before Christmas) on my feet, but the bright side is that I'll be burning 1,388 doing it :)  I always enter "miscellaneous standing" when I work my retail job, but in reality, it's a bit more work than just standing.  So far I've had a donut after church, and a homemade black bean, cheese and corn salsa burrito for lunch.  I need to get planning so I have something really great to eat for dinner @ work.  Gotta go pack my meal!  Have a great day, all.
