About
| Bio | I started here 6 weeks ago today. So far I'm at 26% of my goal. That translates to 13 down, 36 to go. My average loss to date has been 2.17 lb. per week, which is healthy enough, and I'm quite happy with it. My goal weight of 150 leaves me still overweight for my height, but I honestly think that to get much below that, I'd have to start losing muscle, which I don't want to do. I try to keep my calories between 1200 and 1700 per day. The CC calculator tells me I should shoot for 1450 per day to lose what I want to; most other sites say I should have around 1600...not a big difference. I believe that as long as I keep my average around 1400, I'll continue to lose. It's working so far. If I have a day when I'm under my calories at night and I don't feel like eating more, I don't. If I have a day when I'm really hungry and I go over my calories, I don't worry much about that, either. I also don't deny myself foods I really want; I just think about it before I eat, and decide whether I really want it. Sometimes it's yes, sometimes it doesn't seem worth the calories. I eat ice cream almost everyday--low fat, not fat free, and not sugar free. It's a treat that seems to keep me going. If I'm having a hard time with cravings, but I know I can have ice cream in the evening, it makes it a lot easier to resist. I usually allow about 200 calories for it--it's 110 pre 1/2 cup, and I have a small cone most evenings. |
