Bio

I am a 39 yo single mother of one teenage son. I've been in the Air Force 19 years. I'm 5'3" and have never been small, but I've never been this large (185) either. I prefer my weight around 135-140, but over the last few years it has stayed steady around 155 or so. I quit smoking 22 August 2007 and gained about 30 pounds. I had to let that happen if I ever wanted to quit. I figured I could lose weight later. I've been on CC since mid January 2008. It has been slow (1-2 pounds per week) but steady progress. I set my first goal at 25 pounds, maintained for a month to give myself a break and am now working on the last 25.

I have to say, these last 10 pounds are taking forever. This site has been a great help. I do more lurking than talking on the boards, but reading everyone's stories has helped me tremendously -- of particular mention here are Mollymouser and the rant board ladies. It's nice to know everything I've experienced/am experiencing -- someone else has too.

UPDATE: I've maintained at 142 with little effort on my part. My plan was to go for 135, but my body seems pretty happy where it's at -- and so am I. Keeping track on CC has made the process much easier than doing it myself.
