The Lounge Question to parents about favouritism Apr 28 2008

I definitely think that parent's show favoritism.  But, I don't think that means that they love one child more than the other.  I just honestly think that often times parents don't realize that they are doing it.  If it honestly bothers you, talk to your parent(s) about it.

Wow, in my opinion any guy that is going to threaten you that he will leave you over something so ridiculous, is a Jack Ass and you should dump him.  I can understand him not wanting it.  I know more guys that are turned off by implants, then are actually turned on by them.  But, him being your boyfriend he should be supportive of you.

I am always ready for the weekend!!  I start my mondays at work, counting down the minutes until the weekend!  I know. . . its sad that we wish out lives away like that.  This weekend in particular I am super excited about.  I get to spend the evening and most of the day tomorrow with my precious 3yr old niece.  Her Daddy apparantly needs some me time.  I am sure I will be good and worn out come Saturday evening, but it'll be worth it.

I think it is awesome that you are going to wear a red wedding dress.  The whole idea behind the "traditional" white wedding dress was thrown out the window in the 20th century.  It doesn't even serve it's purpose anymore.  My opinion on the X is, take it up to the fabric store and bitch until you get some free fabric.  Whether it be for your wedding dress or something else.  So,if you don't feel like starting from scratch then you have new fabric to make something else!

Was he a used car salesman?  They are sneaky bastards!  All I have to say is more power to you for being able to sew your own wedding dress!  I am sure it will be beautiful.  You will have to post a pic.  I can't believe it took 6 months to get an interview.  That really sucks!  My interviews have ended up being a pointless waste of gas.  Now why the hell can't people just elaborate on the phone.  That way I can go ahead and tell them that I am not interested.

hahaha Sofa Potato.  I would look at someone like they were an idiot if they attempted to call it a sofa potato.  I might actually be inclined to ask if they were referring to a meal time side dish.  Its a flippin Couch Potato!!  Who came up with that terminology.  What does a potato have to do with something that is lazy and life less.

Dude, if I didn't get and hour lunch break every day I don't know what I would do.  Its my sanity break.  I have to have it.  I understand what you mean about the sexual harassment comments.  You would think with as many suites as there are on that subject these days, people would be a little more reserved.  God forbid a girl be well endowed!  Please please torture me with nasty little comments because I actually have boobs!!

I admit, I have a bit of a potty mouth.  But, I have always used much restraint when dealing with co-workers, clients, customers etc.  They use NO restraint here.  I just think that is inappropriate in a corporate office environment.  And pudpie, I am the youngest in the office and often times act the most mature.  Quite sad when you think about it!

When I was a kid, I preferred playing outside.  Had I not though, I am sure my mother would have mad me.  We were also restricted to a certain amount of tv a day and were forced to turn the tv off and sit down as a family for dinner.  Its funny though, some of our most favorite toys were huge boxes.  My mother bought a new water heater, stove and fridge all at the same time.  So, we had 3 really large boxes and I think we played with those things for well over a month.  Built forts, rolled down hills in them.  We eventually turned them into "armor" and my brother convinced me that it would protect me all while he beat the **** out of me with a stick.  Never ever believe that!  Oh and we would get in our handy dandy radio flyer wagon and shove each other down hills into trees.  It is a wonder how we never broke any bones.  I think that parents these days are just plain lazy.  Children are going to learn from the environments they are placed in.

I have found that the Listerine with fluoride (the purple one) works wonders.  I have 2 baby teeth still and have had one filled/repaired 2X.  So, it is super sensitive.  To the point where I haven't been able to chew food on that side of my mouth.  After 1 week of using that stuff, I have noticed a tremendous difference.  I can even chew on it now.  I totally recommend it!

I got a flower and a thank you card this morning and will be taken to lunch on Friday.  Not that I don't like gifts, but what a gay holiday!  I'd rather be paid more in appreciation for my hard work.

curlygirl:  What the heck is a poke?  I am from Alabama and never referred to (or heard someone refer to) anything as a poke.  Please enlighten me.  I swear I hear a new southern term every day.  I didn't know what Wallerin' was until I was 18.

OK, I am not talking about a cocky confidence.  Just someone who is confident in who they are.  Its hard to explain.

Dude, I have a hard time with dressy shoes.  It is hit or miss.  If I find a pair I love, its usually like 5 pair.  But that usually happens every couple of years.  So, if I don't buy them all (and go broke) when I find them, then I am screwed later when I need them.  I think my main problem is that I am so cheap.  Sure, I find shoes I love, but I am not about to drop a lot of money on shoes that a) end up in dirt at some point b) get all sweaty from your feet and c) go out of style by the next season.

Tennis shoes on the other hand I lucked out on.  I hate white tennis shoes.  They always get nasty dirty yucky looking.  I found a pair of grey and purple Asics at Academy Sports for $13.  Sweet!!  I snatched those babies up!  They are so flippin comfy too!

Yeah CD, your option sounds sooooo much harder.  But at least all the trying on is within the comfort your home.  Panties is about the only clothes I like to shop for.  I have entirely too many panties most of which I probably don't wear, but I still buy them.  I HATE bra shopping with every fiber of my being.  Mostly because I refuse to accept how large I am, so I pick up a cup size smaller than I should be wearing and end up bitching and depressed trying them on in the dressing room until I just throw them all down and storm out and vow to exercise these puppies off, except usually end up eating half a pizza because I am depressed about them.  So ass backwards!

I completely agree with you!!  I absolutely HATE shopping for clothes.  I always end up depressed because I can never find something cute that I can actually fit my boobs into.  Plus it reminds me that I am no longer pencil thin and that seems to be the only people that clothes are made to fit.  Not to mention your hair gets messed up from trying on shirts and dressing rooms are never large enough and usually hot.  Its not fun, its work.

Clothing choices form some people in general are just awful!  Has anyone seen the movie Borat?  That rubber band thing that he wears??  That is hilariously disturbing!  And I want to know who in the world ever thought a speedo was even remotely attractive or comfortable for that matter!

All I have to say is eeeewwwwww!!!!!  What the hell would possess someone to wear items of clothes that they clearly should not wear.  I honestly thing that some people just do not have mirrors in their houses.
