Sorry I have been MIA for a while. My work life has been unbelievably hectic and I am exhausted when I do get home and have had little time for keeping up here. As far as an update on where I am on my goals...success in one and not in the other..... I have been very faithful to get my aerobic exercise in....it has really become an integral part of my life, and I see great benefits as a result. The water I have bombed on...not even really tried.....I feel like I drink a decent amount of water, but I have really not attempted to measure it and keep up with it recently. I need to make a plan, and have a way to measure it as I run through my day...need to think on that one... |

First, let me apologize for being MIA! My work life and personal life have been very hectic and stressful the last few weeks! Hopwefully things have calmed down a bit now. Goal check-in: Weekly Aerobic Activity - Doing well on this one....100% so far and then some. Water Drinking - Not doing so well...have not been tracking this at all....haphazard about it.....as the weather warms hoepfully this one will get easier. I have lost a few more pounds and am now down a total of 77 lbs since I started working on it in October of 2008. Still 63lbs to go to my goal weight. Taking my time, but it is steadily dropping, which works just fine for me!

Sorry Missed posting last week! It has been crazy busy in my world lately! Regarding my goals.... I am doing great on my aerobics goal...I am doing great! I am getting 150+ minutes every week thus far! The water goal is not going so well. I think I dring a lot of fluids throughout the day, but nowhere near 32 oz of plain water per day. Gotta work on that one! My weight is at 204.2 this morning. Thats a total loss since I started 17 months agog, of 75.8 lbs! 64.2 more to my goal. |

I haven't had good luck in the past with the whole paired up intro thing, so I will intro myself. My name is Neva, I'm 52 years old and very happily married. We have 3 cats, no kids, and life is good! I started working out on an underwater tredmill 20 months ago and love it! I started eating more healthily 17 months ago and have lost 72 lbs so far. I still have 68 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight of 140 lbs. My blood pressure is normal and I have lowered my resting heartbeat into the mid- to low 60s. My health is great and I feel soooooo much better in so many ways! I'm not concerned about how quickly I lose the weight nor how long it take to get to my goals. I know I will get there. No turning back |

I don't find getting enough protein a problem, but then, I am a meat eater. No meal I eat does not contain lots of protein. I eat meat or dairy at every meal. I snack on low fat beef jerky, and I eat lots of legumes. |

I am doing well on my 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week, I still enjoy my underwater treadmill running and now look forward to it. On the 500 calorie deficit per day 5 of 7 days I'm not so sure....I haven't been logging as faithfully, although it is pretty intuitive to me by now. I have been giving myself some leeway and that has slowed my weight loss, although I have to say I have not gained anything and continue to slowly drop. This is not a race, so I feel good about that

I really don't have water goals. I understand the importance of getting enough water, but I doubt it will make any sifnificant difference in my weight loss in the long run. My focus is on eating well, exercising more, and creating a calorie deficit. Water consumption if further down on the list. |

My motivation comes from how much better I feel! I LOVE food, but it does not taste better than I feel since I have lost 70+ lbs!! I also love that fact that I now know I will be healthy enough to care for my sweet parents, if need be, rather than the reverse. And I continue to get a lot of reinforcement from family, friends, and the people I work with. I have made permanent changes in my life. It may take years for me to get to where I want to be, but I will get there. There is no turning back! |

I am out of town and don 't have access to a scale, so can't update the weight. In addition to the standard reponses, which are true for me, too, like doing it for myself and my parents and my husband, I have also found that I can be an encouragement and inspiration for those around me who also need to lose weight and may be middle-aged,as I am. I may have mentioned before that I water walk at an underwater treadmill exercise center. There are a lot of people my age (52) and older and a lot of overweight people who I walk with on a consistent basis and naturally freindships have been formed. As I have slowly lost weight (72 lbs) over the last year and a half others around me have noticed and are encouraged that they, too, could do it if I can do it! |

This is a great idea! I am working to be a healthier me for my husband and my parents. Oh, and of course for me! My husband and I have been married for 30 years and are both overweight. He had a scare with potential Diabetes and we decided we had put this off long enough. We want to have a healthy retirement whenever we are actually able to retire! lol I am also doing this for my sweet parents who are both very healthy. I want to be able to be there for them when they need me. I once promised my Mother I would out live her and I plan to do what I need to to make sure I keep that promise. |

On track so far. Hitting my exercise goal each week. Fele like I'm hitting my 500 calorie deficit most days. Made it through Super Bowl Sunday eating nothing worse than microwave popcorn!! |

Doing well. Getting my weekly exercise quota in and am still loving my underwater treadmill running, Have lost a total of 72 lbs. Only 1/2 lb loss this week, but that's fine with me. The week included two dinners out, which is not normally on the menu. Here is my recipe for Swiss Chicken. It is a big favorite at our house. Easy to make and tasty! |

Sure it is. I agree Vodka is the best and you can mix with flavored waters, diet sodas, club soda with lime or lemon...lots of choices...just be sure to add it to your daily caloric intake and measure it.

My fitness goal is not currently something super specific, like be able to run this far or that. My fitness goals are more health specific. I want to be fit enough that my heart is good, my blood pressure is good, and my blood sugar is good. I want to be fit enough that I can do whatever I want to do when I travel or go on vacation. I want to be able to walk long distances amd enjoy it! |

Half way through the challenge! Awesome! I am on target! I am getting my exercise in with some extra to spare. I am logging and creating a consistent calorie/burn gap and seem to be losing about a 1lb a week consistently, which is a rate I am comfortable with and that is sustainable for me. I have now lost a total of 70 lbs over the last 15 months with 70 more to go! It seemed impossible when I startedm, but now it seems very possible! Thanks for the support and encouragement! |
