hatamoto...I'd be happy to come back and post my results. My study probably won't be completed for a few months. I noticed I'm up to 92 responses now. Cool. Thanks to those who took the survey. anewdawn...I've been back, I just don't visit the forums much. Actually, I should update my picture. I'm now down to 127 pounds and 14% body fat...I'm an athlete so I am truly faster in most of my events (triathlon and running). I'm facebook friends with slappy and she's doing great! |

Priceless7...you are qualified to take the survey even though you do not subscribe to the notion that "once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic." If you are uncomfortable with any of the questions...just leave them blank. I am most interested in the responses on relapse and social networking. Oftentimes, recovery can be translated to mean fully recovered and that your current networks are those who have directed you to a different lifestyle. You can think of those questions in those terms, if you wish. To view the survey without answering the questions...you could scroll through it and just don't hit the final "submit" button at the end. I would love to have your responses as part of the survey. This study is really focusing on people like you...what did you do to become fully recovered? If it's something we can capture, it may be able to help others. Think about it. And, thanks for your question. |

Nomore....I have it posted on all kinds of AA recovery forums. It's EVERYWHERE! Hatamoto....As a doctoral student, the point is to graduate. To do so, I had to stick with one specific thing. I was planning to study drug and alcohol addicts, but I was told to keep it simple, graduate, and then change the world. Toward that end, I pared this down to one addiction: alcohol. I agree, this study could have included all sorts of addictions. And, my results will reflect the fact that this study should be replicated in other realms. As for the wine mixers...tempting, but no...I, too, am a recovering alcoholic so I do not plan to celebrate by drinking. Caffeine is now my strongest drug...which is also an addiction, but we won't even touch that topic! I posted it here because I know that most alcoholics have multiple addictions. Food is often one of them along with smoking. I may find a few more for my study here. You never know! |

It's already out there...I am just trusting people. Perhaps I'm forever an optimist and believe that most people are trustworthy. Yup...4.0 and working my a** off. BUT, it will be worth it. I've been rather busy...I am now a Vice President at another company. I'm working 1 mile up the road from my home instead of 40 miles up the street. I have a staff...life is sooooo good. How's the marriage? The last time I chatted with you was well before the wedding. |

| I'm sorry...I had forgotten about your Mom. Well, that's totally understandable. You could always try what my husband and I did last year....we blew off all family and went skiing ON Christmas. It was just the two of us, no family, no hassle, no dinner arrangements, nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. | |||

I don't watch much TV either but I can't imagine how you keep up with the games either. My life now consists of work, training, slipping in a meal or two and studying. OH...and sleeping too! |

Thanks guys. I would have shared this news yesterday, but I couldn't sit still long enough to log onto the internet! Get this...on top of all this, I start my Ph.D. classes next month. Gee, no stress there, huh? The good news is that I have about a year to get a draft publication together for the book. AND, I think I get paid for the article. I need to find out.
