I know it's been over a month since you replied but I thank you. I read your reply back then and I've been trying really hard to focus on other things that do not involve food. It's been a struggle, but I think I'm getting better. My binges are occurring further apart...I think it's been 4 days since my last binge. That still sounds bad, but I had been bingeing almost every day. In the past month, I've probably "hid" food in my bedroom closet and moved it back to the kitchen about 20 times. It's insane. Right now, all food is in the kitchen where it belongs but I've stored away some of the food (trigger) that give me anxiety. Hopefully one day I won't have to hide my food...it's just so silly. I realize my main problem is that I have a "relationship" with food. And I want to end it...I only want to think about food the moment I'm hungry and then to stop when I'm full. I've taken on more hours at work, I'm reading, watching movies, exercising- all this is helping take food off my mind. Oh and freezing excess food is a really great idea. Thanks. |

I'm 25, still shopping in the Juniors section. The clothes fit way better...and I prefer the style of clothing. Sometimes I'll go to the Womens section to find an outfit for an interview. But that's it. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I may try the dip idea... Today I threw some of the overcooked eggplant in with some green beans, tofu, chicken, and red bell pepper/curry sauce. Didn't even notice the eggplant, haha. |

Thanks for sharing your story with me. This week I will up my cardio and try eating at a small deficit. I think the fitness part is way easier than the diet part- I'm still trying to figure out my active maintenance calories. |

That's so awesome! I was starting to feel discouraged but now I know it's very possible! It just takes time. Thanks, Serapa. This is what I want!!! Right now I range between 135-140 lbs and 26% bf. I'd like to be in the 130-135 lbs range and about 20% bf. On average I'm lifting weights 3 days a week, and cardio 1-2 days a week. My question for you Serapa or anyone else, is were/are you eating at a deficit, maintenance, or surplus to lower your bf % (weight, not so much)? |

Yeah...sigh. There aren't many theatre jobs where I live...that's one of the reasons I haven't done any theatre recently. But I think as soon as I have a more reliable source of transportation, things will fall into place. |

Got my degree in Theatre...there are a lots of temp jobs in the field, it's not so easy getting a permanent job. The only thing that's holding me back is that I don't have my driver's license, which I will get at the end of the month... I will look into economic hardship deferment...I'm not starving yet. But I'm pretty sure I'll go through the rest of my savings on food and other necessities pretty soon. |

I only have a couple more deferments on them (think I can only defer 6 times and I've deferred 4 I think) and I want to save them for when I really need them. |

Thought I'd update everyone. I got a new job (cashier) right up the street from my old one. It's awkward cause I still see the same customers so I get a lot of weird looks and questions. And although I paid bills early they still decreased my food stamps by 75%...it sucks. I feel like I might as well not get them. The problem is they do no take in account bills like student loans. So when they looked at my last pay stubs they think I have plenty of money- but they don't realize over half of it goes to my student loan bills. So right now I'm living pay check to pay check even with the little bit I get from ebt. All I can say is that I WILL find a better job and will not apply for food stamps again. |

Like everyone said, there's no need to stress. Eat what you like and what's healthy for you. Everyone at my job calls me a health freak. They know I only eat organic/non gmo food. I even have a Horizon Organic lunchbox. They know I rarely eat anything out of a box or can and they know I'm always cooking. Often they ask me to bring them some of my homemade food. Some people have even commented that I "eat too much". I lift heavy at the gym 3-5 days a week, I walk everywhere, I'm a grocery store cashier and stocker...so I burn a lot, therefore I have to eat a lot. They wonder how I eat so much and maintain my weight at the same time. I try to inform ppl how our body really works but most the time I pay no mind. I eat what/when I want to eat and I don't care what anyone says. |

I'm pretty sure it's worth more than 10$...I was thinking at least $30. And of course it's worth it...it's free! Anyway, they sent me an email saying there is a delay in the shipping. And it will arrive soon. Yay! |

| The Lounge | Tips for growing long hair? | Nov 12 2012 04:11 (UTC) |

I have long, thick, curly hair. It's a pain. It's so long right now that it's difficult for me to comb it by myself. Yes, I have to get someone else to do it for me, lol. Anyway, I used to perm my hair and put heat on it to straighten it- and it still grew long! It was past my butt. I've cut it short several times and it always grows back. Now I just keep it natural but I still get split ends! Actually I think it breaks off more naturally because it gets tangled very easily. So even though perms and heat aren't good for your hair- it actually helped mine...it prevented all the breakage I get now =/. My hair stops at the middle of my butt now. I don't know if it will ever grow longer. Anyway, I doubt there's a secret to growing hair fast- I'm pretty sure it has to do with genetics. Just continue to take care of yourself and your hair. I'm sure it grow more. Is it necessary to wash your hair every day? I don't understand why anyone would wash it so often...unless it gets really oily. Maybe try to wash it every other day instead. |

Oooh, frozen coconut milk sounds awesome! I think I will try it in my protein/fruit smoothie first! And maybe as a topping for the sweet potato pie I will make next week. |

I steam eggplant (chopped and unpeeled) with black pepper. And just add it to soups, stir fry, pasta, burritos, or wherever I see fit throughout the week. |

You may just have to let the stuff go- I haven't figured out a way to make it without sugar. But here's a really awesome recipe I've used in the past. http://www.wholegraingourmet.com/recipes/57/5 2.html The recipe uses honey as a sweetener and binder- but I ran out of honey. So I ended up using half honey and half maple syrup. It was pretty tasty. But def very very sweet. But maybe you could decrease the amount. Also, if you're looking for a quick, wholesome snack- then I'd recommend LARABAR. They are simply a fruit and nut bar- no sugar added. And they have the best flavors! My favorite is "tropical fruit tart" |

I drink almond milk! @carmenxox I have canned, full fat coconut milk, but I use it for cooking. You actually drink the stuff? I never thought of actually drinking it. I should add some to my protein drinks. Thanks for the idea! |

Actually, instant oats are steamed, pressed/rolled and then dried. I think slicing groats would be way too much trouble, lol. |

Nutella sucks! I used to eat it straight out the jar- I was 200 lbs!!! I don't buy it anymore, I don't crave it, I don't even think about it! But when I do want a chocolaty nut butter spread I go for Justin's Nut Butter. There's a chocolate almond, a peanut and a hazelnut spread. I think the chocolate hazelnut tastes the best. 1 tbsp (only 3.5 g sugar) on a slice of Ezekiel bread does the job. |
