Most of what is marketed as "health food" is crap. And it's marketed as an energy bar, so it's still baffling why people who are trying to trick themselves into eating less would take issue with it. It's obviously not marketed toward obese sedentary people. I can't imagine paying that much attention to marketing, anyway. Eating really isn't that hard. If you can't fit a Clif bar into your daily intake because it has too much "sugar," then don't. But some people actually need additional calories. Why get all up in arms about an energy bar? |

You know, I think that company is doing just fine without needing to troll forums looking to convince people that energy bars are good for giving you more energy (aka calories.) |

I have no idea how anyone eats a clif bar as a "meal replacement." Do you eat 250 calorie meals? Really? They aren't "glorified cookies", per se, as the glycemic index is far lower, they actually contain fiber and protein, and the refined carbs in them are much less damaging to your liver (hence less likely to contribute to metabolic disfunction like high cholesterol.) Note that if you are suffering from diabetes or high cholesterol, you've already spent decades damaging your body. You can't expect to eat like a healthy person at that point and heal from that. But they ARE energy bars, and are great for keeping up your caloric intake. If you are trying to starve yourself because you sit in a chair all day every day and stop at the gym 3x a week in a misguided attempt to counter the daily physiological damage from living an otherwise sedentary life, I suppose they aren't that beneficial to your health. But neither is your lifestyle. |

Look, logic isn't your strong point, we get it. There are a number of things you *could* have said in response, and that was probably the most daft. |

You are assuming, without backing up, that female athletes at 15% are truly healthy. You aren't a medical professional, are you? |
