Thanks for the compliments! I think you should do whatever you think is best for your body. You sound very stable... like you'd be able to manage shrugging off a few pounds without letting the weight loss spiral out of control. Go for it if it would make you feel better! Glad you tried my suggestions... keep in mind that the longer you keep up the weight training, the easier it gets. At first, I dreaded doing pushups and what not... but I actually enjoy it now. You'll get over the inital hump of 'uncomfortableness' if you know what i mean :) Again, do whatever you want, but perhaps you could not set an official goal weight.. You know? Lose a couple pounds and see how you feel, then judge if you want to lose any more... Maybe make 115 or 117 your minimum possible weight. This is how I would probably approach the situation, but I realize everybody's different

Hey! I remember you! You actually encouraged and inspired me to get myself healthy. I gained from ~105 or so to my current weight of 125-130 at 5'5.... and I've been maintaining this weight for like, 4 months now! yeah! Our stats are pratically the same, and I also feel a little uncomfortable at this weight...but the uncomfortable-ness is slowly but surely fading away. I'm adjusting to my 'new' healthy body and learning to love it. I'm so jealous you have your period... Mine is extremely irregular if existant at all. My OBGYN isn't concerned though, and she told me it will regulate itself with time. My advice to you would be to NOT lose weight. Honestly, you look fabulous in your pictures. We are obviously at very healthy weights (and thin by most standards). Don't you love feeling strong and healthy? I don't know about you, but I have so much more energy now and am enjoying life so much more than I did at a lower weight. Losing weight is a slippery slope... Especially considering you do not need to lose a cent. We are both growing girls and should treat our bodies like the temples they are. I also feel like sometimes I might "overeat." For me it's during dinner or late at night. But then I remember how I used to eat before I developed an ED a long time ago... I ate like a pig, comparatively ;) I would never simply stop when I was 'satisfied." I always left the table chock full...and I grabbed snacks left and right even if I wasn't necessarily "hungry." And I maintained a great weight back them ~BMI 20-21 perhaps. My point is that 'overeating' is totally normal and nothing to worry about at all...in fact, enjoy the normality! I would strongly suggest that you focus your attention away from food, and instead on your strength. It has helped me a lot. You don't need any equipment at all to strength train. I'll look around and try to find a good link to strength exercises that use your own body weight as the weight (wow, that's a terrible sentence). Pushups for example.... There are many, many variations of pushups that all work different muscles. There are also a variety of planks you can do... as well as lunges, squats, burpees, etc. Get two empty gallon containers and fill them with water to make two dumbells for yourself, if you want. Gaining strength and muscle tone may help you feel more comfortable in your own skin. Good luck! |

I just have to throw in my two cents.... you are undereating and malnourished (I don'tcare what your weight is, you are undereating and malnourished). Your brain is starved, and you are not thinking clearly. I have learned from experience that if you just committ to eating a healthy amount regarly for a month, two months, three months, you will feel better about yourself and adopt a more normal attitude toward food. If you don't start eating the right amount, consistently, you will be trapped in your disorder forever. Make the leap! |

I still like the alternating idea.... Mature chedder cheese is healthy for you, regardless of its fat content. The healthy fats in cheddar cheese will only improve your hair, skin and nails! Ever considered putting a slice of cheddar cheese ON your ham sandwich? That's another idea for you. |

What kind of ham and what kind of cheese do you use? Do you use any condiments on either sandwich? If you put mayonnaise on the ham sandwich... then the mayo-free cheese sandwich would be a better option. In my humble opinion, variety is the spice of life. Why not switch on and off between ham and cheese? That way you're getting the benefits from both the ham and the cheese.

People. I have some wonderful news that's too good not to share! I opened a box of deep chocolate vitatops and there were 5 in the box! They are supposed to come 4 to a box... but I got 5!! One of them was squished and oddly shaped, but I couldn't care less. These type of things never happen to me! I don't remember everything I ate yesterday, but I do remember a lot of it.... In no particular order: 2 frozen greek yogurt bars in blueberry flavor, 2 chocolate vitatops, 2 english muffins, 2 string cheeses, lots of blueberries and blackberries, kashi go lean cereal, fiber one cereal, bag of popcorn, really good sesame seed crackers, lots of strawberry light n' fit yogurt, lots of dark chocolate.... definitely other things I am forgetting. |

I'm 5'5 and about 125, so basically the same BMI as you. I'm mostly muscle, also, and I feel awesome. I thought I was fine at 105, 110, 115, and even 120 pounds.... but boy was I wrong. I look a million times better with muscle on my bones. My advice to the OP- Do whatever the hell you want. It's your body. I just suggest that you consider accepting a heavier weight... Lift some weights, eat good food! From personal experience, I've found I feel best at a BMI of 20+, so I'm guessing you would too. |

YES! Geez, I thought the catch would be something like "you lose 20 years of your life." Heck, I'd give up my top 10+ favorite foods to be the perfect weight for the rest of my life. |

This thread makes me so sad... Too many Americans bashing their own country. There are plenty of things about America that I'm not proud of, but the things that I do take pride in far outweigh these negatives. The growing number of Americans who are too materialistic, wasteful, lack respect for our nation's history and foundation, and expect too much to be handed to them is disappointing. However, there are still Americans out there who are hard working, independent-minded, courteous, and honorable people... people who cherish the values of duty, honor, and country. People who measure their success by their contributions to society... such as participating in a happy family and leaving the country a little bit better than how they found it. God Bless the USA! |

I don't notice or care. I don't have the best skin, but what the hell. Really, I'm so fed up with the emphasis on looks... In my humble opinion, people spend wayyyy too much time documenting every event of their lives with pictures and posting them on facebook. All of these pictures flying around the internet contributes to the emphasis on looks. I wish more people could just enjoy themselves and their lives for what they are, and quit looking in the mirror all the time, trying to find the perfect outfit, and taking pictures! Sorry for the rant, and sorry for my horrible wording, but I'm lazy. |

Actually, I have used that bowl before! I stumbled across it at target and picked it up for 10 bucks. It works wonderfully well. No complaints whatsoever. Even if I leave the popcorn in the microwave ~10 seconds after the popping has slowed down or stopped, the popcorn doesn't even burn! |

Baybeehannah and Rasberry- Thanks for the compliments! I'm really trying hard to stay positive... Yes, I did struggle with an eating disorder in the past, if you want to call it that. Really I have OCD that 'transferred' over to food... Anyway, I recently gained 15-20 pounds to get myself healthy, and it's getting easier each day to maintain my healthy weight and be happy with myself. |

Thanks, Tina. I know she needs help, but honestly there is no way she will ever see a nutritionist/doctor about it. I tried talking with her about it again today. She devotes everything to us kids and does nothing for herself. Again, thanks for your support, and I'll update you guys if there's some significant change in her behavior... |

What a sweet idea. Yeah, it sounds like you can relate to my situation. I can't wait until school lets out so I can spend more time with her. Good luck helping out your mom as well! |

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
