| OMG!! you hit in on the head! My brain is my worst enemy! and so is the scale, or my brain and my scale are in cohoots with each other, im not exactly sure. My problem is when I am being so good doing what I think is everything right and either the scale doesnt move or it moves the wrong way!!! The big problem I have is: if the scale moves up I get extremely discouraged, and I have tendancies to give up, all I want to do at that point is binge. It takes everything I have to say no way, if you do you will just hate yourself that much more and then the vicious circle ensues! | |||

Welcome and Good Luck to both of you, you are both in the right place.
Remember now that this is a "way of life" and that a diet is meant to go off of at some point....you won't be doing that here. You will learn the correct amount of calories that are right for your ages and heights, and stick with it! it truly works! And a month and a half ago I would of never believed I could say that. I too have been "large" as my family puts it, Obese the doctor called it :( all my life, been on many gimmicky diets and have lost an gained plus interest everytime. This time it's working and to be honest the great thing about this way of life is once you learn portion control the rest is so easy it's almost scary. Sometimes I think I have to be messing it up cuz it's just too easy....but the scale tells me otherwise. I have lost 23lbs here and have 113 more to go, hang in there, you are young and it will just melt off before you know it. |

| I make a pesto sauce with basil, pine nuts, parmeasan cheese (reduced cal) nutmeg and instead of olive oil i use chicken broth. search out a few pesto recipies and substitue broth for oil....anything that can take tomatos as a base or a suace can use pesto instead. | |||

I don't know if you can get this brand where you live, but I buy the Lupita white corn tortillas, they are 90 calories for 2 tortillas!
with only 1 gram of fat and 17 carbs. And they taste great right out of the microwave for 15 seconds. |

| This is a Lifestyle and you have to create "your" world so that the lifestyle works. You will need to make little changes since you are short on time. Maybe get a friend or a spouse to help at the house more so you can spend all the time need on "YOU". If money is'nt too much of an issue hire someone to come in an do your laundry, iron and maybe cook a meal or 2 for the kids. On my days off I cook and chop everything for the week, freezer bags are my best friend@! On my lunch hour i walk for 20 min (around the parking lot in a circle, looks really funny but who cares) Then I eat my well pre-prepared meal, I don't go to the gym, its just my oinion but it just takes too much time.... by the time you get there, change your clothes, get your stuff locked up, bleh bleh....i'd rather walk around my block 20 times and take the kids with you, let them ride bikes or walk too. | |||

Thanks for the post kcnae3
I totally know where your trying to communicate here, I posted once back to this person who was crying about being FAT, she had no FAT on her frame at all...for her hieght and age she was actually concidered underweight. After my post I got an Email saying not to pay attention to those ppl that are just looking for attention, because thats all it was. And no, just like kcnae3 I am NOT talking about anyone here that TRULY wants help and support no matter what they weigh, we are talking about the ones that just want to BE HEARD....I have 115 more lbs to loose and I promise I won't think i am FAT anymore when I only have 5 more to go. But again we can't speak for everybody.....but i totally know what you mean. |

This is a "way of Life", and you are doing great at it. But we are human and everyone needs an indulgance from time to time. The price you pay to have them is high, however. Treat yourself to something staying within your calories, afterwards drink lots of extra water, to help stave off furthur cravings your indulgance may bring. I give myself a "treat day", today happens to be that day and I am indulging in a "Smart Ones" (Weight watchers) Key Lime Pie, at 150 calories it gives me that "Im being bad" feeling when I am not. I am still working on not feeling guilty for having such a thing, even though I am still within my calories for the day.
Good Luck, and keep up the great work! |

Oh and I agree with HK, I was just wondering if anyone had heard of it and thought it was something that was even interesting.
But I agree fad Diet, although this author does not tell you what to eat, agrees with a lower calorie diet, it's more about WHEN to eat, which in most peoples cases would not be an acceptable thing to do for any human. My opinion only. |

| For that many times a week I would go see my Doctor! Maybe you are losing weight too fast, sometimes the body has strange ways of telling you that, I was getting terrible headaches and leg cramps because I was losing way too fast. | |||

You were bigger when he asked you to marry him, and now you have made the package much smaller, and c'mon we all know good things come in small packages!
If ppl are decribing you in the wrong way tell them to stop....and tell him how you look before he gets home. And besides he wont have any expectations, because thats NOT what Love is about! |

It has been said that when a woman goes below 25 % body fat thier menstration will stop.
I am 5'4" and the tools tell me I should weigh about 130.. Maybe get your body fat mesured, if your happy with your weight then speak to your doctor about it |

Yeah I never weigh myself on those scales, too many other poeple using them and abusing them.
I only weigh at home, mostly because I weigh myself naked! (THEY FROWN ON THAT IN STORES ;) ) When I get weighed at the Doctor's I am always about 5lbs more, because of shoes and clothes. |

OMG! TTOTM and pre-week is the worst time for me! I am always hungry, and I mean famished kind of hungry. I want to eat everything in sight and then some. I have posted elsewhere on this subject as well.
I try to drink lots of extra water to keep myself as full as you can get with that....but then it kills me with the bloat too. I also stay off the scale 1 week before and 1 week after, it's just safer, because for me if the scale goes up, even if I know its TOM weight, I will give up and binge...I do not know why I do this.... so I avoid the scale completely as to not cause myself this unwanted efect. |

OMG! PIZZA!
I treat myself to 1 "new york" style (size) slice a week its 500+ calories but I just have too! Unfortunately the day after I do I feel like I want to eat alot more then I normally would of. So I am re-thinking the "real" Pizza for a more healthy option, something that won't bring on all those huge cravings afterwards. |
