Fitness Help - Couch to 5k - What did I do wrong? Apr 14 2011

When I started training for my 1st 5k I had bad knee pain...I was overweight and outta shape...I ended up going to physical therapy for my knees...they taught me exercises to do...it ended up that the inside muscle was weaker than the 2 outter muscles...it helped a ton! They also gave me tips on training, other exercise tips...and they suggested that I get fit for shoes...that made a big difference too!

One more thought...when I was first training I could only run 2 or 3 times per week...otherwise it was too much on my knees...I can still cross train or walk in addition to running...

I was running against traffic....he came from behind me! I still just can't believe it! People are stupid sometimes!! This weekend is going to be a longer run...hopefully! I'm going for 5.5-6 miles! Ahhh! It is going to be warm and rainy! I LOVE running in the rain!

I was thinking about sitting there in my car tomorrow around the same and stalking the car....and follow them. Unfortunately, I came home and my neighbor has a white car kinda like the one that threw the water bottle....makes me sick to think about it.

I definitely think I will have rocks in my pocket! Great idea!

When I was running my very first 5k last year, I was having a super hard time at mile 2.5...and this song came on my iPod..."it's on" by superchick....this part STILL gets me...

I am 5'2 went from 210 to 165...I went from size 16/18 to size 8....and my BMI is still 30 and considered obese! How frustrating is that!

I have a WTF story...just from this past Thanksgiving....

Background: I have list about 48 pounds...I'm 5'2... Went from wearing a size 18 to size 8....

My mother called me over to meet a friend if hers from college. She said to her friend that I had lost a bunch of weight. I replied, "yup! About 48 pounds!". My mom said, " you are almost skinny!". I said, yeah...I have about 10 more pounds to lose...". Mom said " you will be skinny then!"

Great music!!  I usually run on the treadmill and watch TV (really LOUD!!!) but it is soooo nice outside so I want to get out.....I don't even have an ipod, that is why my daughter is going to put music on it for me.  **blush**

 

I agree about running outside....  I will only wear one earbud!!  lol

Weight Loss Getting at least 1200 cal a day...a little trouble Apr 03 2010

I started off losing weight by following Weight watchers (using the books at home), then I found CC and started logging my foods I was eating on WW.  I got 27 WW points which added up to about 1200 calories.  I lost 20 pounds really quickly!  For the entire month of March, I was fluctuating up and down the same 4 pounds or so.  I could not break 190.  I decided that maybe I wasn't eating enough, so I bumped up my calorie intake to 1500 and started losing again!  I do exercise (either run or biking) 4-6x/week and do some ab workouts.  I am also doing physical therapy for my knees.

 

Good luck!  Losing weight is hard work to do, but totally worth it! Smile

I have Comcast cable TV...and they have a fitness section "on demand".  I have been doing the different workouts....there are 18 different sections of workouts....

Also, some of my favorite workouts can be found at exercisetv.tv

Haha...very true UD....  I love carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers.....clementines are a fav too!!!  I eat lots of berries, salads, Kale chips, smoothies, etc.....But this was a thread on "favorite snacks"!!!

Hello!  My name is Sarah and I am a noob!

 

My bad habit is not eating breakfast....I am too busy getting lunches made,  the kids off to school and then running to work to eat breakfast....but I have started to make Oatmeal in a coffee mug.....I cook it slowly (3x 30 seconds) in the microwave....it is too hot to gobble down...it fits in the cup holder.....stir it a few times to cool it down and keep it from lumping up....then I eat it sloooowly, taking small bites  during my 40 minute drive.....
