Perhaps they eat breakfast, snack after school, eat dinner, then snack after dinner. You're generally not as limited with your foods when you're in your own home. Also, take into account drinks (sodas, juices, etc.) that they could be having throughout the day as well as desserts. Some of them may even go to restaurants after school, which are usually infested with calories. It all adds up eventually.

Chrissy: Sometimes people need to vent and ask for advice. That is not what a pity party is; I think calling it such discourages the OP from talking about her feelings more than anything else. I do agree with the rest of what you said though and I thought the rest was worded truthfully and perfectly.
