I read all the horror stories right before I got mirena too! I was truely scared and just about backed out. I do believe that those stories are true for some people, but luckily I still seem to be fine. As least I'm pretty sure things that I deal with aren't caused by it, altough I suppose its possible. It was really painful for me too! And the first couple weeks weren't fun either and I thought I had made a mistake. BUT....shortly after that things were great. Its nice never having to worry about it. I can't take a pill regularly to save my life. I've also not had a period in just about a year...which is excellent. About weight, I really dont know what to tell you. I'm someone whose weight has always been an issue and whose weight fluctuates regularly so I dont know what is from mirena and whats not. I got on paxil the same time I started on mirena and i stopped taking it about a month ago. I lost 10 pounds (which isn't a whole lot for me, but its something!) I'm thinking it was the paxil that made me gain all my baby weight back to quickly...well that and the chocolate ;) I really hope things continue to go well with mirena and if anything happens i'll let you know.

Hey ladies. Just thought I'd introduce myself since I too am in my late twenties. I'm 26, from Kansas, and I have a 14 month old son. I've struggled with my weight since the 3rd grade, but I am currently at my largest weight. I'm 5'5'' and weight almost 260. Yikes. I'm so tired of it and I feel miserable. And now that the weather is nice its so depressing not being able to hide myself in big heavy clothes :(

Health & Support Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? Apr 04 2008

I developed CTS during my pregnancy with my son. I had preeclampsia and my entire body was severly swollen, which apparently is what caused it. After I had my son it went away for the most part until recently. I'm not sure whats causing it to come back, but it deffinitly has. My arms fall asleep at night and it wakes me up with intense pain. My hand and fingers go to sleep while on the computer, pushing my son in his stroller, pushing a shopping cart, and anything else like that. I haven't gone back to the DR for it, although I may soon. Until then I bought some wrist braces and they're made a trememdous difference. I bought mine from Target and they're made for CTS and for women. I'm sure any type would work though. I wear mine to bed most nights and just keep it around for when its hurting during the day.

Health & Support Packing on the pounds with Paxil? Mar 20 2008

This post definitely caught my attention! I, too, have had weight control problems while on paxil. In fact I got off of it once for that specific reason and only went back on it after I had my son and was dealing with post-partum depression. I have currently been on it for a little over a year now. When I got on it, I had lost all my baby weight...which quickly returned (and then some) once I got back on the medication. I don't place all blame on paxil, but I know without a doubt that it plays a pivotal role.

I've wanted to get off of it again for awhile, but I feel like I still need something. I would LOVE to try the omega-3/vitaminD/5HTP combo. I've found some websites with some information, but none that really help me figure out what would work best. Does anyone know of any good websites with information about this?

Also, and forgive me if this is silly, but I know that some people treat depression with St. Johns Wart (which gives me insomnia) but it interferes with birth control. Has anyone read anything about these pills interfering?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really interested in giving this a shot. If you want to email me its crazykiddos@Yahoo.com

Thanks for reading!

Starbucks Menu To Include Calorie Counts
