coach_k, proud_mom_of_2:

The unit converter on this site can only convert between volume (cup to tbsp, etc.) or weight (ounce to gram, etc.), but not volume to weight or vice versa (cup to ounce, etc.) because density isn't taken into consideration. You could just measure the 1 cup of strawberries (or any food) and then weigh it once to get its density. Then you can easily convert to weight if you measure the volume the same way every time. Or you could just get into the habit of weighing everything every time.

I eat oatmeal almost everyday for breakfast. I use 1 cup vanilla soymilk, 1/3 cup dry quaker old-fashioned rolled oats, and 2 packets splenda cooked on the stovetop. After I pour the oatmeal into a bowl, I add 3/4 cup fresh strawberry halves. I'm waiting to run out of my oatmeal supply so I can try the steel-cut oats.

Age: 29

Current weight: 141

Goal weight: 125

Long term goal: keep active, less flab/more muscle tone.

Three and a half years ago, I weighed 143 lbs. A year and a half ago I weighed 125-128 lbs. The first time I lost weight, I didn't do anything special really: I stopped eating white rice, started eating oatmeal, didn't go out to eat much, went snowboarding a lot (almost every other weekend for two seasons), and went to the gym regularly when not snowboarding. Since then, I switched jobs (which now requires me to sit at my desk, go to meetings and sit, etc.), gained a boyfriend who likes to eat out (and of course he has superfast metabolism), went snowboarding a lot less because of lack of snow, resulting in the weight gain. It's just how it is. I also got bored with my exercise regimen (elliptical, squats, leg press, dumbbell strength training on an exercise ball), so now I do the 1hr group classes at 24hr fitness (turbo kickboxing, core training, weight lifting). Hopefully, this time I can lose the weight again using a method and keep it off!
